Hiii! This is for the valentines day ship request: i'm a medium sized girl (1,61 cm, i hate the other metric system) i'm kinda overweight but doing workout everyday, i consider myself a tough person. Wolf admired you from the start, from the moment he laid eyes on you he thought you were one of the most interesting humans he’s ever seen. He probably caught wind of you while you were doing a workout, only to follow you back home quietly and see your musical abilities first hand. Don’t be surprised if you wake up one day to find a skull on your front porch or a giant purring alien sleeping at the end of your bed!
Wolf loves to workout with you. He loves to motivate you and keep you on your feet. He’ll gladly let you sit on his back while he does 100+ push-ups and keep your feet grounded during stretches. Now, he has nothing against you being a little overweight, after all, is makes you soft and a perfect pillow... But he admires your determination and willfulness to work out and take care of your body.
Though Wolf doesn’t necessarily follow a routine besides going hunting, he’ll try and get accustomed to yours. Yautja don’t really sleep as much as humans, but when he can, he’ll lie down with you and let you rest on him, or he’ll at least just be in the room. Perhaps sitting down cleaning off one of his trophies or doing something else productive. However, you can always expect him to be awake with you, lol. He likes to get an early start to his day, a morning work out session with this guy is manadatory. Wolf will accompany you through out your routine and things that need to be done. Though he’s used to a much more solitary life, he enjoys the presence of his life mate.
He quite likes your abilities to play music! He wouldn’t mind just listening to you practice, he might even try to play is himself (which always results in failure lmao). He also things your embroidery hobby is very new and different, embroidery is hardly a know thing to yautja. Though he might find it a little boring to just sit there and put string through cloths when you could be hunting or displaying a trophy, but Wolf will still sit with you and do his own thing. He does quite enjoy sitting in the peace and quiet with his beloved by his side.
I hope you don’t mind adding another language to your list—with the knowledge that you can learn different languages, Wolf will probably try to teach you how to write in his language. He’ll learn yours and you can learn his. Prefect couple bonding activity. Eventually, with you being in the tougher side and with the new found knowledge of understanding the yautja language, he’d potentially like to take you for a trip to his home planet. Though this might be something you’d have to do later in life, lol. Cause I guarantee you that you will not be back anytime soon.

Head: Jessica is basically the epitome of beauty. She has clear, well taken care of tanned skin with barely a blemish in sight. Her eyes are a beautiful chocolate brown with a honey color rimming her pupil and framed with thick, dark eyelashes. Her pouted, kissable lips are usually coated with a shade of red or a nude color. The brown hair that perfectly frames her face reaches just below her bust and has a few light streaks throughout.
Body: Jessica’s body is a point of envy for some girls, even some of her coworkers have stated that they’d kill for a body like hers. She’s fit due to having a regular workout schedule, but she doesn’t work out to the point of her body being too defined. She has an hourglass figure, meaning her waist isn’t as wide as her hips and shoulders, dipping in slightly. Height wise, she’s rather short, standing at nearly 5’2.
Style: Jessica is elegant and chic. She’s always up to date on the latest fashion trends and she always dresses to impress. She tends to show off quite a bit of skin ( at least when it’s not cold as fuck out ).
Personality:
Make no mistake, Jessica is a deadly woman. She isn’t just gorgeous – but she’s also intelligent and knows how to use her looks to get what she wants. If she’s involved with someone, she’ll usually use flattery and her skill of acting dumb to get them to do or think what she wants – or in simpler, shorter terms – she can be manipulative. She’s still pretty spoiled, finding weak men to support her shopaholic habit and sometimes even treating herself with her own money.
However, she isn’t all that bad once you get to know her. Jessica can be sweet and caring as long as you’re on good terms with her.
Surprisingly, Jessica is very empathetic. She has a high understanding of emotions – mostly others emotions – and she finds it easy to read others emotions. Despite this, she doesn’t quite know how to deal with her own emotions ( much less others ).

History:
It all started the day after Valentine’s Day – Elena Rodriguez gave birth to Jessica Maria Alejandra Rodriguez in Boise, Idaho and the young mothers’ life changed completely. Jessica’s birth was unplanned – and Elena was originally going to give her up since her life wasn’t really one fit for a child – but just a glance at the angel she’d created was enough to get her to instantly change her mind. Elena promised herself and her baby she was going to give Jessica the world.
It wasn’t long before that promise would be broken.
Elena did give Jessica her all in the early years of her life. She spoiled her with expensive gifts, showered her in love and affection; she gave her anything she wanted. When Jessica hit the age of eight, Elena started to grow tired of her daughter – she even sent her to her brother’s house so she could spend more of her time with her cousin. Soon, her brother and his family got an offer to move out of state to open a business elsewhere so that they could get more costumers – Elena seen that as an opportunity to be free of the responsibilities that a child brings.
Elena still loved her, so not all of her wanted the young girl gone – she gave Jessica the choice to leave the state with her cousin, or she could stay and live with her mother. Jessica wasn’t so bad – she could still see emotions and she still wanted others to be satisfied, even if that meant she wasn’t happy – so Jessica agreed to go with her uncle and his family.
Jessica and her new “nuclear” family left Idaho and headed for South Park, Colorado. Her aunt and uncle became more of a mother and father to her and her cousin David became her best friend. She worked part time at the restaurant owned by her family, while also attending school.
Around the age of nine, Jessica became familiar with the town and it’s people – and she even started dating. She started gaining unwanted attention from more than a select few girls; they often verbally bullied her – calling her a variety of names, such as “slut”, “whore”, “two faced bitch”, and a few more. Her cousin, David, was always there for her when she was down – telling her to keep her head up and not focus on the negativity.
Years went by ( she was in 9th grade at this time ) before she had a sudden change in personality. She loosened up, went to parties, and became quite promiscuous. She left trails of broken hearts in her path, and hardly let anything get her down. When eleventh grade came around, she decided to dropout – her aunt and uncle agreed to allow her to dropout on the condition that she got her GED – and she was okay with the terms.
She successfully earned her GED the next year and started working more often. Once she was eighteen, she gained a nighttime job at the Peppermint Hippo – a strip club. Her aunt and uncle didn’t really want her to make a living using her body as eye candy, but they allowed her to do her own thing.
Within the past two months, Jessica’s been saving her money up so that she could afford a nearby apartment.

Athleisure Wear
This past Saturday I headed to the mall in hopes to find some new running gear. I’m not complaining, but I have to replace pretty much all of my running gear because it doesn’t fit anymore.
My first stop was Lululemon. I had told myself I am only going to buy a running shirt and nothing more, especially at their prices. Well to my surprise, I did not like any of their tops! Since I’ll be running Hapalua with a hydration backpack, I need to wear a shirt and not a tank top so that I don’t chafe (made this mistake during a 10k race!). I was looking at their Swiftly Tech Short Sleeve Crew but hated all of the colors. For $68 I want a nice royal blue, or purple......something with a punch. They had white, black, grey, and a sea foam green. The green would have worked, but I am very pale and would prefer brighter colors.
Next stop was Old Navy. Didn’t expect to find much here......although I do love their workout clothes, I’m just not sure if their gear would hold up for 13.1 miles! I was surprised at the selection they had.....or the lack their of. I did find a cute work top, so stopping here wasn’t a complete bust!
Then I made the mistake of going to Victoria’s Secret. I see a lot of girls at the gym wearing clothes from VS, so I figured why not! After making my way through all of the valentine’s day lingerie I was finally able to find their workout section. VS does have a wide variety of sports bras, but I was so overwhelmed by their crop tops and bootie shorts I didn’t have the energy to look at the sports bras. I know I love bright colors, but when it comes to my sports bras, I just want basic colors like black, white, and grey. VS sports bras look like a rainbow threw up on it. I know a lot of women workout and run in just a sports bra and bottoms, but I am not one of these women. I sweat a lot and need a shirt to wipe my face with.
The best part about my visit to VS was the black sequin top and matching black sequin leggings. My mom was with me and I joked that this outfit should be my Hapalua outfit. She laughed and said if you want to chafe everywhere go for it! I really should have tried it on for shits and giggles.
I managed to find a Nike running shirt and sports bra at Macy’s, but again I was shocked at the amount of crop tops and bootie shorts on the racks. To each their own, whatever you’re comfortable working out in is your choice.........but I’m not comfortable with the items being sold. And I couldn’t get over how boring the colors were! I have nothing against black, white, and grey.........but I plan on doing my Saturday long runs in the early morning so I want to be visible to cars on the road. I don’t want to have to buy a light up vest in order to be visible.
My last failed stops were Target and Nordstrom. At that point I was done with shopping. It clear that the “Athleisure Wear” trend has taken over and that fashion > function. Apparently it’s more important to look cute instead of comfortable.
Maybe I’m overacting a bit, but this is my first half marathon and I really don’t know what to expect. I want to make sure my gear is meant for high impact, so I turned to Facebook and asked my female runner friends for some help! One friend suggested I look at Oiselle, a Seattle based company that is run and designed by female runners. Which ironically I complained about this to my mom when we had lunch at the mall. I don’t understand why athletes are not consultants with fitness companies!
I hesitated ordering from Oiselle since their return policy doesn’t include free shipping, but after reading the excellent reviews I decided to take a chance. Apparently their leggings are meant for runners with a bootie and thighs! YIPPIE! SOLD! I decided to get 2 pairs of tights, one above the knee and one below the knee. Stay tuned for a review once I get them!
I tested out the Nike sports bra yesterday during my 5 mile run and to my surprise I actually like it! It more strappy than I am used to, but I think this bra might work for my longer runs.
Now I just need to find a good running shirt and I think I’m good to go for Hapalua!

First, Love Thy Self - A Valentine’s Day survival guide for singles
Valentine's Day: a holiday created to celebrate love. Let's be honest. For those who are not in a happy, committed relationship - on and around February 14th - this can be a lonely, painful time of year. It can leave singles feeling depressed. Angry. Inadequate. I have been there (more than once in my life). It doesn't have to be painful, unless we chose to let it hurt.
Hear me out.
It was Christmas, when I was broken-hearted and alone. The painful commercials began before Thanksgiving. I was already dreading Thanksgiving - the holiday meant to be spent with family - because mine had been abruptly torn apart. I was not in a good place emotionally. Syndicated TV shows offered a temporary escape.... until an onslaught of painful jewelry commercials began airing. Pre-Netflix, my sitcom escapes were no longer an option, unless I wanted to punish myself. Unless I chose to feel miserable. Love songs on the radio hurt, so listening to the radio was out. Going out in public and seeing happy couples holding hands in the grocery store hurt - a necessary activity I couldn’t avoid. Waking up to an empty pillow, that once cradled the head of the man I loved, hurt most of all. I was tired of feeling hurt. In an act of defiance I made up my mind to find ways to make my situation hurt less. Mind-over-matter. You can do most anything you set your mind to.
Yes. You. Can.
You don’t have to dread this made up holiday. You don’t have to punish yourself. You can celebrate as an act of self-love. Or, as a ballsy act of defiance. Whatever works for you. I felt empowered and better about myself, because I made up my mind to choose self-love. Here are some suggestions and some of the ways I celebrate me:
GNO ~ make a date for a girls/guys night out. Don't go out looking to meet Mr or Ms right. Do something fun with the people already in your life, such as bowling, laser tag or go to an arcade. I, personally, would not consume too much alcohol. It's a depressant; you may feel giddy at first, but coming down only left me depressed. You could go out and grab a bite to eat or get coffee, but you're more likely to be faced with sappy, happy couples. Instead, plan a pot luck dinner with single friends and play board games.
Pamper Me ~ If you can't find a friend who is free to hang out with you, instead of sitting at home licking your wounds, do something self-indulgent instead. Nothing says I love myself more than splurging. Go shopping - it's called retail therapy for a reason. Set a budget and a specific goal. Set out on a quest for a new pair of earrings, a different shade of lipstick or new shoes. Be daring. Don't get sensible shoes! Step outside of your comfort zone. It’s brave and empowering. Hit every store in the mall before you make a decision. End the trip with a manicure, pedicure or a makeover. Most department stores are eager to give makeovers. Buyer beware - they will try to sell you everything in stock. Unless you make the big bucks, purchase a lipstick or eye shadow and walk away. No matter what your station in life is, freshly polished nails or a brave new shade of lipstick will remind you that you are capable and willing to take care of your own needs.
Guys, go to the men's fragrance section in a department store and have someone help you select a new cologne. Go to a hot towel barber and get a professional cut and shave. Get Physical ~ First you're sad, then you're mad....well, that's how it was for me. For those who have an over-abundance of angry energy: put it to good use. Take on a project. Repaint the room you spend the most time in or buy an old chair and refinish it. Go to the gym or put on a kick boxing video. Listen to empowering music or comedy tracks, while you work and work out. I created a Spotify account on my computer - it's free and it's user friendly. Here's my workout play list:

You can also listen to your favorite comedians on Spotify or Pandora. I’ve acquired an Amazon Echo. I can listen to whatever I want, without commercials, including comedy bits. Finally! I know it's cliche', but laughter truly is the best medicine.
Getting physical can also be serene. If you've not yet tried yoga, give it a go. It is incredibly relaxing and therapeutic. Many yoga studios allow you to pay for one class at a time. If you're having trouble silencing your mind, yoga is the answer. Yoga helped me realign - not just my body, but also my mind, spirit and, in time, my life. Anxiety is a beast. It was making my situation feel exponentially worse. Yoga helped me find inner peace. Peace is essential when you’re trying to heal.
Movies ~ Go out with friends and avoid all date movies. Or, stay in and watch one at home. Say 'no' to Rom Coms!! Watch an action flick, a side-splitting comedy or an inspiring movie about courage. I watched old movies I knew would not upset me. A League of Their Own and Men in Black are two of my go-to favorites. If you're ready to embrace the thought of loving again, I recommend Under the Tuscan Sun. It reminds me love happens when you least expect it. It also reminds me the value of love.
Love is not exclusive to romantic love - there is maternal and paternal love, the love of a dear friend and the love of a cherished pet. If you’re having a tough time loving yourself, you’re not alone. I’ve been there too. My self-punishing nature ended when I’d had enough of feeling awful. When I stopped beating myself up, my life improved.
Your heart matters. You. Matter.
Love should not be celebrated once or twice a year. It should be a daily celebration. Love is an inside job. We receive the vibrations we emit. Anger attracts anger. Joy attracts joy. Conversely, joy repels anger (and vice versa). When we are self-loathing, we repel love. All love. Choosing self-love is a gift we give to ourselves and to those we come into contact with.
Above all else, remember: love is the heart of the matter. It should begin within and radiate out. Make this potentially difficult day, a celebration of you - whether you are single or in a committed relationship. Allow yourself to love yourself, warts and all.

Run a pre-winter contest giving away a gift card. Pitch your products as a "winter necessity." It doesn't matter what your products actually are, but how you portray them as relevant to what your entrants are already thinking about.
Run a Valentine's Day contest giving away a "his and hers" package for Valentine's Day. Alternatively, offer a "Just for Her" prize on Mother's Day (or a "Just for Him" prize on Father's Day). Remember, with these contests, that your market is your usual target market's partner, family, or friends (so target accordingly).

There's no beating around the bush here: we run more fitness contests than any other activity except eCommerce. Your business is absolutely perfect for contests (which I, unfortunately, can't say for B2B).
You have clearly valuable prizes: 6-month membership, free personal training, whatever. You have the benefit of a lot of great visuals, and price is one of the main pain points in your trade. When you tell someone they can get fit and healthy for free? The perceived value is priceless.
Any competition you run needs to have what we call a value proposition - the reason that people see you as valuable. But it can't just be "get 50% off" or "get your first month free".
Instead, you should consider the emotional value of your offer. For instance, "Get ready for summer," "Burn those Christmas calories," "We'll help you stick to your resolution" etc.

Free membership for brides. Facebook advertising will enable you to only show your contest to women who are engaged. You can also target female friends of engaged people.
Free workout and healthy eating plan. This is also a great option to add to our website as a "lead magnet" - a free giveaway that you deliver to people when they submit their contact information. Create a series of emails (also called an email drip campaign) that are designed to turn your new contacts into paying customers.
Free personal training. Personal training, unlike a general gym membership, feels like a luxury (with higher perceived value). Be sure to add the dollar value of personal training into your value proposition/contest headline.
"Spin with the girls!" Consider giving away a pack of spin class passes (10), enabling girls to bring their friends to multiple sessions. This is an especially valuable contest for you as, when your winner's friends enjoy spin class, they're likely to pay full price down the line.
Free 12-month membership. Only consider a full free membership if you're running a bonus entry contest as you'll need to generate a lot of prospective customers to make the giveaway worth it. The last thing you want is to offer a $1,200 prize and only have two entrants.

The honest answer here is that we don't run that many B2B contests. And that's because, in general, there's usually a better way for your business to find the results you want.
However, there is a single type of social media contest that I can confidently recommend, and it's one we've used to great success many times over the years.
Here's an example:
This is a partnered contest. And (again, to be totally honest) it's a super valuable campaign not because you're going to go viral on social media, but because when you notify your existing lists about the contest, you'll be legitimately trading contacts with a business similar to your own.

B2B Competition Ideas:
Partner with another business. Give a year's subscription to both your service/platform and theirs. Be sure to find a business which not only has the same target market as you, but also compatible products.
Run an internal contest (within your office/branches) giving away a gift basket or swag. Internal contests can be a great way to boost company morale.
Black Friday/Cyber Monday discount plan. If you're going to run a discount plan promotion, consider giving it to "10 lucky winners" - because you're going to be competing with other SaaS/B2B companies who simply run sales. Honestly my recommendation would be to just run a sale, rather than a contest, here.
If you're an office supplier, offer free shipping for a year. Consider running this as a month-long promotion and it's exclusively available to first-time buyers.
Sports team sponsorship. A contest where you offer sponsorship of a local youth team gets your name out there. Just don't expect it to drive final sales.

7. Photography
If you're like most photography businesses, you get most of your clients through word of mouth. They ask a friend if they know any good photographers, you're mentioned, and the rest is history.
Contests, however, are like word-of-mouth marketing on speed.
Online contests are, by definition, online. And that means that information, recommendations and references can be shared and disseminated at lightning speed and shared with huge numbers of people.
Your target customer has 100 friends who are also your target customer. Contests, especially bonus entry and referral contests, are a fantastic way to reach all of them.

Offer a wedding package in the Fall. Be sure to time your contests correctly to engage with the maximum number of people who might be interested in your prize. Most people who are having late Spring/Summer weddings are planning their photographer in late Fall.
Offer a new baby photoshoot. Similarly to the above, you should know that most babies (in North America) are born around September.
Offer free photo framing. Do this for the first 10 booked photoshoots, then offer 50% off to everyone who books after the first ten.
Offer a "Friend's Day" photoshoot with costumes. Run a photo contest where one entrant can submit a photo and get their friends and family to vote on it (they'll need to submit their contact information to vote).
Partner with a hairdresser or makeup artist. Offer a photoshoot with makeover package. If you photograph weddings, it should be easy to connect with makeup/hairdressers before the wedding.

Most restaurants don't think about online marketing too much. Much of your business comes from word of mouth and (if anything) review sites and Google search.
Nonetheless, a good social media contest is one of the best ways for a new restaurant (or one looking to increase declining patronage) to get people in the door.

Is there a popular movie coming out? Buy tickets and offer a date night.
"Get Away from the Kids." While this is, ostensibly, just free dinner, the most successful contests are always those which tie into a well-recognized idea or theme. Consider running this contest in the middle of the summer, targeting parents with children who are on Summer break.
Offer a Thanksgiving dinner. Cater a family's Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings. A cool idea for this (if you want to take it a step beyond, would be to offer a free dinner for the contest winner as well as a needy family in your area.
Create and offer a Superbowl party pack. My recommendation for this would be to make a big deal out of the winner. Have your chef, restaurant owner and waiters/waitresses pull up in a van and deliver the Superbowl food in person. Take some photos with the winners (and their friends) and post them on social media.

9. Dental/Cosmetic Medical
Contests can actually be a very valuable marketing strategy for dental/cosmetic medical enterprises.
And there are three reasons for that:
1. Your services are expensive, so a prize has a high dollar value. This increases the number of entrants you'll likely get.
2. People who enter your contest will think of your business the next time they need your services (even if they don't win).
3. The people who do win will return to your business (if their experience is good) for any follow-up care or with a family member. It's far easier to keep going to a dentist or cosmetic surgeon you like than find a new one you don't know anything about.
Top Tip: My recommendation is to have multiple winners for your dental/cosmetic medical contest. It increases your entrant's belief that they'll win (which increases entry rates) and you'll get more people through the door who will become loyal clients.

The auto industry is one of those industries which hasn't fully embraced online marketing as a viable way for them to succeed.
For you, then (someone within that business who recognizes how powerful online marketing can be) the opportunities are massive.
Did you know that Facebook enables you to target, specifically, people who own a certain type of vehicle in your area? Can you imagine how powerful that would be if you owned a Subaru, Mitsubishi or Volkswagen auto shop?
But let's not get ahead of ourselves. We're talking online contests here.
Before the winter comes around, many of us consider winterizing our vehicles. We're perusing Facebook as we normally do and "Bam!" an auto shop near me is giving away free vehicle winterizing.
Or I'm looking to go on a family road trip for an upcoming long weekend. "Bam!" my friend shares with me an auto shop giving away a complete vehicle checkup for free.

Offer a free tire rotation or a new set of tires. This is the standard "product prize" for the auto business (rather than some of the more complicated campaigns or prizes). This kind of giveaway/sweepstakes can be run as many times per year as you like. Just remember to exclude your previous campaign's entrants from your targeting and email mailout.
Offer a vehicle checkup before road trip season. My recommendation would be to run a summer-oriented online contest around May to tap into what people are already thinking about.
Offer a free vehicle rental. Again, run this campaign before a major long weekend to increase the chance of your prospective customers needing your prize.
At the end of the road trip/travel season, offer windshield repair. My recommendation would be to give this to 10 lucky winners over the course of 10 days. This increases the perceived chance to win and gets more people to enter.
Offer free vehicle winterizing. Run this contest in early-mid Fall (and of course you should only run it in places where snow and ice is a thing...)

When your birthday falls on a weekend, you always have to wait until the next to be sure it’s really over. I don’t have Facebook anymore but my birthday is visible on my reactivated twitter. Nobody follows that account other than a few diehard people. Most of the people who reached out were from this platform which speaks to me a lot more in some ways. How people you barely even know care about you enough to reach out on a day like that is strange when you compare it to the reality. People straight up forgot in real life. I got a callI on the train home from a delayed flight the day before Valentine’s day. It was work. I scribbled the number on a paper crunched with my messenger bag and handled it as I speeded back home. Then spent the rest of the weekend incognito playing games and rearranging my finances. The trip to New York wasn’t as great as I would have hoped it to be. But it was useful in a lot of respects. I came back to my cat waiting patiently on the bed. She sleeps with me at night now. The auto feeder worked perfectly. I was telling someone at work how I use three litters now. They have three cats and one litter. I told them my cat likes her litter a particular way. About an inch thick. She wants options. My apartment is big enough and I live alone. I spent two nights away. I probably could have spent three. My mom offered to stop by to feed her wet food but we decided it was a quick enough trip. So that is an option for the future. But really the idea that I just take off to New York and disappear for a few days has reached its zenith. At least in the way I used to approach it. The hotel that I stayed at again ended up waiving their small fee. I found a new hotel in Chinatown that is very nice and has my favorite coffee. So I may stay a night there and a night midtown next time. I didn’t end up shopping very much but I did order some shoes from the DSMNY eshop last night. Have to have those delivered to work. Still having issues with packages. Ran into my neighbor from downstairs who now is also having the same problems. I tend to keep to myself on the property but I have lived here for over a decade. My downstairs neighbor situation is like a room mate in some ways. I pay the utilities but I’m not trying to be anyone’s friend. I think that understanding is much more apparent these days to people around where I live. The rest of the city can be a little less respectful of your privacy. Everybody is always up in your business but not enough to remember your birthday. I don’t drink anymore. I’ve spent the last three years assessing and working through my baggage. This includes physical and emotional hangups as well as financial ones. I didn’t end up spending much money this time around. I paid my flight and hotel months before. My debit card got denied at the Nintendo store so I left without a switch. I spent all last year budgeting this trip into a comfortable spending pattern. When I get lonely or isolated I always have the option of planning a trip. This time I think I’m going to wait until May. I have way less bills to pay this year. Way less frivolous spending habits as well. I’m also one year older which to everybody here is ancient history. If you ask me how it feels, it feels weird. But then again it’s also weird the only place I feel understood is typing out sentences to people I’ve never met. In that I’m kind of thankful. Which is why I share my feelings and not my actual age. Here’s a hint. I’m almost dead in dog years. If I were Anubis.
Being old and being me is fucked up. Both aren’t really linked to any regret. I find that I know better. I also find nobody listens or pays attention to me most of the time. So I don’t really talk much anymore unless it’s to do my job. I did get a free month of Hulu for my birthday. The way brands express how they care about your date of birth can be bizarre. The videos I watch about surveillance capitalism don’t add any fuzzy feelings to it. But I have been watching High Fidelity. I’ve been pretty into it. It reminds me that there are people out there like myself. The main character has all sorts of problems connecting to a real relationship. She hasn’t had sex in a year. I would say personally that’s rough but I’m definitely way beyond that threshold into second virginity. Conversely I think I had the best Valentine’s day I’ve had in years. I always complain my birthday falls after it. One year I delivered an ice sculpture to a girl I liked low key. Left this frozen led unicorn in her back yard and ghosted. She posted on Facebook how it was the most amazing thing anyone had ever done for her. The very next day on my birthday when I called her to see if she wanted to hang out she said she was busy. She immediately started dating another guy. I don’t know how many years ago that was at this point. It was definitely after dating my ex so it’s recent enough. I don’t really talk about my personal life anymore with anyone. It’s been more beneficial to live and enjoy what I feel in private. But me being depressed about anything has nothing to do with love. Love is complicated if it’s worth something. And I’m a complicated person in theory except that I’m so easy to get along with I’m invisible. So valued by people but always so alone. I must shut myself out. And as you get older you start to realize that being everybody’s friend is empty with no return. You can prove your worth that way for as long as you can stomach it. But for me I’ve always felt I’m worth more. I deserve to be treated like I matter. And the real sting is that I don’t matter to a lot of people. Which isn’t the same for Tumblr for some reason. Which is why it’s sort of bizarre to know what’s working and what isn’t. The real news is that this year is the same as last year really. Except I’m less fearful of the outcome. I know what I have to do. I get better at doing it. I look better than I have. I carry myself more confidently. I also have my shit more together. No one seems to recognize that. Mostly because you end up understanding people aren’t as together as you are. They don’t put in the time. They don’t confront the truth about things. They’d rather avoid the painful realities. I face them. It is definitely not easy. But the reward is being yourself instead of what people want you to be. And I think we all are trying to justify our own identities. We don’t always respect the ecosystem around that that makes it possible. Which is why America lately as well as Chicago has left me a little drained. Particularly with the politics and the spectacle. The reality that I live is a different beast completely. And that ends up being my own shit at the end of the day. Which is to say I’m still alive and still me regardless of what shit anyone tries to pull.
The truth is I don’t have much interest in being anything else. And sometimes the boring realization is that the best course of action is staying it. I do find people feel comfortable being around me. Sometimes that gets taken advantage of. Sometimes it’s far more complex than I’d even care to imagine. So I stay out of it. People that can’t be bothered to remember your birthday are a dime a dozen. Most of the time it’s a bunch of people sitting around you negging you. An excuse to get drunk and take pot shots at a vulnerable person. I’d rather just smoke pot by myself. That’s nobody’s business but mine. And even then people feel some type of way about how I choose to live my private life. I could complain like I did for years here. And then I can just move forward with it all the way I have. Minding my own business and finding my own future. I still Iive here. My life still intersects with the general public. I have to play detective every time I walk out the door for my own safety. People have begun to realize just how long I’ve been dealing with it all and keep their distance. Some people don’t. Being an adult is navigating that hazy landscape and standing your ground. My ground happens to be three houses from the train platform. I get to work in twenty minutes. I can walk home on a good day. I spent most of New York walking. Twenty miles one day. I know the streets better by foot. I connect things in my mind. I explore. I discover hidden secrets. Different ways to say what I’m trying to say. And people approach me thinking they know something they don’t. And I often correct them in public in the most cryptic response. If my life is cryptic it’s not like I don’t live it out in the open. I just don’t trust people with the intimate details of my dreams. It’s for me to live and love. And honestly I feel more connected emotionally in some ways because of it. People always want you to share yourself. They give you the impression it’s for the greater good. That we’re all in this together. And then they forget your fucking birthday. And then you just know better. They want you to share so they have something to hold over you. Bring you down to their level with negative comments and discouraging advice. My results always come from my own deep thoughts. You have to act on them. You can’t just think things will be better. I spend a lot of time making reminders for myself and logging what I’ve achieved. Maybe it’s three workouts a week. Maybe I spend less on groceries this week. Maybe I stay home on my birthday and organize my closet. Maybe I look ten times more together than I have. I know the work that goes into being that. And I know that when I try to share it people tune out. I don’t have the same lifestyle as a lot of people. And I don’t have the fear of missing out when I know the rewards that come from letting it all pass you by. Being older doesn’t really make me sad. I just feel more like big brother. A bigger brother than most. I’m always watching. Ever vigilant. And I’m always going to have another birthday. But really I just wanted to wish you happy Valentine’s day wherever you are. Sasha has been head over heels in love with Ed since they met and has never shied away from letting him know it. They’ve dated for less than a year, though Sasha was asking him out long before then.

Oh lord, anything and everything, but a special shout out to surprising her with her favorite candies and flowers, excessive PDA, and personalized presents like songs or leaving a teasing voicemail on her phone.

What Sasha thought was a super awesome romantic gesture was taking Ed out for night on the town with karaoke and proceeding to sing just about every single cliche love song to him and trying to cajole him into singing along in front of a gathering crowd. Honestly Ed is an outlier who should not be counted, because before him Sasha had a spotless record asking people out. Not overtly flirty perse, Sasha is just constantly bubbly and upfront with her emotions, with an infectious joy that people respond well to. Honestly, considering how much she throughs around “I love you!!” in casual conversation, it could be hard recognizing when she’s not flirting.

The aforementioned PDA; Sasha’s big on casual kissing, handholding, and sitting in her significant other’s lap.

Oh god yes she could. Appearance aren’t make or break for Sasha, so starting a relationship online would work depending on the person’s personality and meme usage.

For Sasha, love is a great and wonderful things that should be felt and shared as often as possible, be it love for her family and friends, Ed, or the latest Ariana Grande album. So, very highly.

Yep, it’s what happened when she saw Ed. The jury’s still out if this was a good thing.

The concept is nice, but Sasha thinks it’s disappointing that people are only supposed to have one soulmate when it’s much more accurate for her to call anyone she likes her “soulmate” (which, let’s me real, is basically everybody).

Hanging with her (usually single) friends, watching rom-coms, and giving out Valentines while getting tons in return. Oddly enough she isn’t usually dating around Valentine’s Day, but on the occasions she is she’d spend the morning with her friends and the evening getting romantic with her significant other.

Oh yes, with Daniel; they start officially dating a year after meeting and stay together till the end of their stories.

Being surprised by a home cooked meal and forehead kisses.

Planning a hike up the scenic Cascade Mountain in early spring and making all the flowers bloom and trees bud in their wake in a blanket of colors and smells.

Mae doesn’t really flirt; she’s asexual and hasn’t really pursued a relationship before Daniel, though she recognizes when someone is flirting with her and is polite about turning people down. Daniel didn’t even “flirt” with Mae, just asked her out once he realised how he felt about her.

Asking how your day is going and listening.

Her strength, both physically and emotionally. Mae is good at helping you move and unpacking emotional baggage.

The aforementioned asking and listening, but also making sure that those she cares about are safe and happy, whether that be cooking them a meal or teaching them how to throw a proper punch.

Probably; personality is important to Mae since physical attraction isn’t really a thing for her. She’d want to talk over the phone to get a better feel for them (emotions over text are harder to decipher).

Love is important, in that love should extend into care and compassion for everyone in your life.

Not really. Infatuation, sure, but not love, which comes with time and getting to know someone while building your relationship.
