"Keelah!" Tali shouts as she reaches out to swat the Doctor's hand away from the dismantled pieces of geth technology. "Don't mess with that!"
With a weary sigh, she opens her omnitool, activating additional firewalls on it before scanning the pieces, "I haven't had a chance to ensure that they're all fully disabled and harmless. If geth processes are still active in any piece, they could reactivate and hijack other technology."
It's not something that she's thrilled about doing in the first place, bringing back pieces of geth technology from Haestrom for her father after everything she's been through… everything she's lost. But orders are orders, and she will do her duty for the fleet, even if she's wary of why her father wants the technology to begin with.
Glowing eyes narrow behind her semi-transparent faceplate as she looks over the data streams, shaking her head in thought. "I don't have time to check every piece right now. We should be nearing the relay soon, so we'll have to drop out of FTL to make the jump back into the Terminus systems…"

@dochaes || semi-plotted thingy

Keelah, this is a disaster!
First she lost nearly everyone on Freedom's Progress to the mechs before finally reaching Veetor and returning him to the Flotilla, and now a second team has been entirely wiped out on Haestrom, this time by the geth, the last transmission received being from Kal'Reegar, apologising to her for not getting her and the data out safely.
The geth know where she is - she can hear them trying to get in through the observatory's door. The data is safely stored away in her omnitool, and anything else of potential value that she's found and can carry stashed away in her suit's pockets, and yet she knows...
Unlike two years ago, there is no human commander rushing to her aid. There are no more quarian marines holding back the tide of geth heading her way. She's going to die here, all for some data about stars going out before their time, because the Admiralty Board - her own father - thought it was worth sacrificing all their lives for!
A sob escapes her as she grips her shotgun tightly in her hands. She doesn't want to die. Not here, so far away from her home, her family, her friends... Even if the Flotilla doesn't have nearly as much of that for her as it used to before her pilgrimage. Before the Normandy. But even that's gone now, its crew scattered and gone their separate ways after the ship's destruction and the loss of their captain.
The geth on the other side of the door are getting louder. It's only a matter of time now before they break through. Taking a steadying breath, she activates her omnitool, syncing her comms to broadcast to all emergency channels in range, even if the solar radiation interferes with the signal getting far.
"This is Tali'Zorah vas Neema. The geth have me pinned down in the observatory. I don't know how much longer I'll be able to hold out, or if anyone will even receive this message. If you can hear me, tell my father - Admiral Rael'Zorah of the Migrant Fleet..."
She pauses, a bitter laugh escaping her as she thinks of what Shepard would say to him if she were here with her now, "Tell him that he's a bosh'tet for sending me out here. Keelah se'lai!"
