Don’t you love when a friend tells you about something and then you become horribly obsessed with it to the point where you cannot correctly function anymore?
Me too, bro

Interview with the Bachelorette!
Tumblr media
I’m sitting in one of the many sitting rooms in the giant bachelorette mansion. A fire crackles in the fireplace, and a grandfather clock ticks comfortingly. The mansion is bright and cozy, despite its size. Alexis seems at ease here, and she’s extremely open and friendly with me. She sprawls across the sofa, I start my recorder, and we get to the questions.
Note: I took the “50 Questions for your OC’s” and edited it for this.
So, Alexis, if you don’t mind me asking, how old are you?
Of course I don’t mind. I’m 25!
Do you have a sexual preference?
Not at all. A person is a person, and love is love. I honestly don’t even see a gender when I’m meeting someone. Like, it doesn’t come into my head “oh, this is a man. or this is a woman. I just see a person. Of course, rationally I do know the difference in genders. -laughs-
Do you associate with a gender yourself?
I don’t mind feminine pronouns, because I consider myself a female... when I think about it. Which isn’t often.
When’s your birthday?
Honestly, I don’t know. I was just kind of... dropped at the orphanage where I spent my first 10 years. Ever since I got adopted, though, we’ve celebrated that day as my “birthday” of sorts, and it’s in the middle of spring.
That’s so sweet. So, you’re speaking English really well with me, of course, but do you speak any other languages?
I speak some French, living down in NOLA you kind of pick it up. Plus Simlish, of course. She laughs.
Do you have any brothers or sisters back home?
Oh gosh, yes. I am one of 6 children. We’re all adopted.
Oh wow, that’s amazing. Tell me about your parents.
They’re wonderful people. Honestly, they’re my heroes. They love each of us so much and there’s nothing they wouldn’t do for us. My dad’s a doctor and my mom’s a lawyer.
So, aside from your siblings, do you have a big family?
So big. My mother and father both had siblings, and they have multiple children each. Plus Gram Gram and Pop, Maw and Gramps. We have a family reunion twice a year, and we have to rent out a whole park, it’s pretty ridiculous, but I love it.
Is there anyone you're especially close to in the family?
Hmm..  She pauses for a moment, like she’s trying to find the right words. I’m really close to my youngest sister, who was adopted a few years after me. And my brother who was adopted shortly before me. I’m close to all my siblings, but I guess I spend the most time with them.
Back to you... Is there a story behind your name?
There is, actually! I had a different name before I was adopted. When my mom and dad officially adopted me, they told me to pick a name for myself. And so Alexis was born. My family are the only ones who know the name I was born with, but that’s a dead name now.
What’s your favorite season?
I really like autumn, when all the colors change. It’s gorgeous, especially back home.
How many serious relationships have they been in, if that’s not too personal?
Isn’t that kind of the whole purpose of this interview, though, to get up close and personal? She laughs again. I get the feeling that she laughs a lot. She seems really carefree. I’ve been in two. The first was three years, from the time I was 16 to shortly after I turned 18. Then I had one that was four years long, and I really thought she was the one. Turns out she thought someone else was her the one, so here I am!
I’m sorry to hear that, but I’m really glad you’re here! Bit of a subject change, but what do you do for a living?
I’m an artist! Or at least... I try to be. I’m a starving artist, or at least I would be if it weren’t for my dad sending me money all the time. She smiles when she talks about her dad, and I can really see the love she has for him.
Is there anything you do that others see as childish?
I love jumping on the bed. She chuckles and shakes her head. I broke my leg doing it when I was a kid, but that hasn’t stopped me. Oh! And I adore pillow fights.
So, do you believe in the supernatural?
You bet. That Vlad guy has been around a couple times since I moved in here, and he seems really fascinated with my throat? I dunno, I’ll be glad when I’m not the only one here. I can feel how wide my eyes have gotten at this, but I move on to my next question.
I’m sure our candidates will appreciate this one: Do you lose your temper easily?
Alexis thinks this is hilarious. She takes a minute to pull herself together before she answers. Don’t worry, candidates! I can’t think of a single time that I’ve just lost it since I was a teenager, and all teenagers are angry. She laughs again, and I think she might dissolve into a fit of giggles again if we don’t continue on.
Do you have a guilty pleasure?
Oh, I love reality TV. I guess the cat’s out of the bag with that one, huh? Hm.. I like to eat sweets in bed? Does that count?
Well, I only have one question left, and it’s the most personal one yet: Are you a virgin?
Oh, come on, Katie. A girl never kisses and tells. She winks at me, and this time I’m the one laughing.
Tumblr media
Alexis was so much fun to interview. Despite her punk appearance, she was sweet and lively. She laughed easily and wasn’t put off by any of my many questions. When we were done, she offered me some coffee before I left.
Candidates, get ready. This girl is going to knock you off your feet.
