In an imagined future, humans have returned to their roots as hunter-gatherers, migrating from one giant oyster to the next as the seasons change. The world has undergone a significant transformation, with the once dominant cities and dry land now a distant memory. The giant oysters, once seen as powerful and in control, have become sources of sustenance for the humans, providing food, shelter, and a place to call home. As the humans migrate from one oyster to the next, they live off what nature and the seasons provide, relying on their skills and knowledge to survive. They hunt and gather, fishing in the low tide, foraging in the forests of kelp, and collecting the bounty of the Sea. Mundane monsters opens at @bonamatic On February 17th. Purple oysters are a species of mollusk that have become increasingly popular among aquarium hobbyists in recent years. Unfortunately, this popularity has also led to a dangerous addiction to social networks that cater to these fascinating creatures. People who are addicted to these networks spend hours upon hours scrolling through pictures, videos, and forums about purple oysters, and often neglect their real-life responsibilities and relationships in the process. They may even go as far as spending their entire paychecks on buying and maintaining their own purple oyster colonies, at the cost of their financial stability. This addiction can take a significant toll on one's mental and physical health, as well as their personal and professional life. However, many who are addicted to these networks find it difficult to break away, as the allure of purple oysters is simply too strong. Mundane monsters opens at @bonamatic On February 17th. In the future, humanity had to abandon the land and retreat to the oceans due to rising sea levels caused by climate change. Life under the sea was not easy, but the people adapted, building underwater cities and finding new sources of food and energy. In this new society, the concept of wealth and money as it was once known became obsolete. Instead, giant pearls were used as a form of currency and a means of exchanging goods and services. However, unlike the old world where giant pearls were a symbol of wealth and status, in this society, every individual was entitled to an equal share of the giant pearls. The pearls were used as a means of exchange for necessary resources, such as food and medical supplies, without the hoarding of wealth by any one person or group. The equitable distribution of giant pearls ensured that everyone had access to the resources they needed to survive and thrive. The people lived in harmony, working together to maintain the delicate balance of their underwater world. The giant pearls were also revered for their beauty and played a central role in the cultural life of the ocean-dwelling community. They were used in non-religious ceremonies and celebrated as symbols of the bountiful and harmonious world that the people had created. Years passed, and the people of the ocean prospered, living in a world where everyone had access to the resources they needed, and where wealth was no longer a source of division and conflict. The giant pearls continued to play a crucial role in this new society, serving as a reminder of the values of cooperation and equity that had allowed the people to thrive. Building small stands out of plywood with self designed 3D printed connectors for Mundane Monsters. Sometimes in wonder if I might have been happier as an engineer solving practical hands on problems with instead of the fragmented and propositional art projects i spend my time on. Probably i would find still myself in much the same situation, looking over the "fence" to other traditions and instutions, wondering if they might somehow provide the means of pursuing my interest. Wondering what is to be learned from other disciplines about the world and how to live in it. In this way it is difficult not to sometimes dream that there might be a discipline or context where all of my interests and all of what in want to do might fit. But in truth i don't think that such an ideal profession, context or tradition exists, but that its something that every one has fashion for oneself. Carving out a space where what "needs to be done" can be, by not caring too much about disciplines or tradion. Obtaining a bit of freedom to act on what is apparent to ones self, by not adhering to the norms of one field, but instead choosing to maintain a polygamous relationship to many fields and ways of thinking. There is so much joy to be found in choosing no field and so much adventure to be had by having a utilitarian approach to disciplines, as useful fictitious rather than guiding principles. Even if that might never lead to a sensible/coherent narrative of the slef or a sense of belonging to anywhere for very long. So I guess in truth one of many names i might call myself could be artist-engineer or engineer-artist for as long as it serves my purpose. Mundane monsters opens at @bonamatic On February 17th. There exists a middle aged group of computer engineers who have been working in the field of computer engineering for a number of years, ranging in age from their late 30s to their early 60s. The group meet in the weekend to hack networks in far away countries dressed in crayfish costumes. It is made up of experienced computer engineers who use their knowledge and skills to break into various networks and systems located in distant countries. They do this as a form of protest or activism, or as part of a larger plot to take down a corporation or government. They have a unique style of working by disguising themselves in crayfish costumes, making it hard to trace their identity. They have years of experience in various areas of computer engineering such as software development, hardware design, or network engineering. They meet on a regular basis, such as weekly or monthly, to discuss industry developments, share knowledge and expertise, and work on collaborative projects. The meeting are held in the early morning or late night, referred as "crayfish" hours. Mundane monsters opens at @bonamatic On February 17th. A renowned marine biologist and oceanographer, Dr. Nielsen, made a groundbreaking discovery off the coast of Denmark. Dr. Nielsen and her team of researchers stumbled upon a new species of oyster that is not only massive in size but also a vibrant shade of purple. The oyster, which has been named "Purpurata gigantea," measures an average of 100 meters in length and weighs over 100 ton. According to Dr. Doe, the oyster's purple coloration is due to a unique pigment found in its shell. The discovery of the Purpurata gigantea has excited the scientific community as it could potentially hold new insights into the evolution of marine life and the impact of ocean pollution. Dr. Nielsen and her team are now conducting further research on the oyster to learn more about its biology, habitat, and potential uses as a habitat for humankind. The Purpurata gigantea, which is considered to be a rare species, is found in the deep sea and it is expected that the population of this species is limited. Dr. Nielsen has urged for immediate conservation measures to be taken to protect this new discovery and usher in a new age of human-nonhuman cohabitation. This discovery is a reminder of the vastness of the ocean and the many unknown species that still remain undiscovered. It also highlights the importance of marine conservation and the need to protect the ocean and its inhabitants. The scientific community and authorities are eagerly awaiting the results of Dr. Nielsen's research and the potential impact it may have on our understanding of the ocean and its inhabitants. Some local politicians even voiced hope that this new discovery might help solve the ongoing housing crisis in a sustainable and equitable way. Mundane monsters opens at @bonamatic On February 17th. The mad scientist delved deep into the unknown, her thirst for knowledge and power driving her to push the boundaries of science and nature. But as she peered into the abyss, she began to realize that she too was a monster. Her experiments had twisted her mind and body, and she could no longer distinguish between her human form and the monstrous pets she had brought to life. The revelation filled her with horror and disgust, but also a twisted sense of excitement as she embraced her new monstrous identity. Her once brilliant mind now consumed with madness, she let out a maniacal laugh as she set out to spread terror and destruction in the name of her twisted research. The world trembled at the thought of the monstrous being that now roamed free, a creature born of science and insanity, a true spawn of the cute and the tasty. Once upon a time, in the bustling neighborhood of Nørrebro in Copenhagen, a strange creature began to haunt the streets at night. It was unlike anything anyone had ever seen before - a bizarre merger of cats, dogs, canaries, turtles, and other pets. The creature had the legs of a cat, the tail of a dog, the wings of a canary, and the shell of a turtle. It was a terrifying sight to behold. The creature would scar joggers with its unearthly appearance, and it was known to steal laundry from clotheslines. But despite its nightly antics, no one had ever managed to take a photo of the creature, and it left no prints behind. Some say the creature was the result of a mad scientist's experiment gone wrong, while others believed it to be a curse placed on the neighborhood. But no one knew for sure. One day the creature disappeared. No one knows what happened to it, but some say that it is still out there, hiding in the shadows, watching over the city. Some even say that it's still waiting for someone to help it, to understand it and give it a place in the world. But for now, the creature remains a mystery, a strange and terrifying reminder of the unknown that lurks in the heart of the city. #MundaneMonsters #signal_crayfish #djursarchipelago #thekoldingcreature #artistrun Mundane monsters opens at @bonamatic On February 17th. In the distant future, the Earth has undergone a drastic transformation. Rising sea levels have caused the continents to submerge, leaving the planet covered in tropical oceans. Humans have adapted to this new world, becoming skilled hunter-gatherers once more. They live in small, tight-knit communities, scattered across the vast ocean. Children are born in a unique way, nurtured inside of sentient purple oysters that grow in the warm waters. The oysters protected the children from the harsh environment, and provided them with all the necessary nutrients for growth. As the children emerge from the oysters, they spent their days swimming, hunting, and exploring the ocean with their families. They have a deep connection to the sea, and their society is built on the principles of harmony with nature. It is a world of peace and abundance, a paradise where past was not important, only the present and the future was what matters. #MundaneMonsters #signal_crayfish #djursarchipelago #thekoldingcreature #artistrun #oysterutopia #betweenlandandwater Mundane monsters opens at @bonamatic On February 14th. "Wireless-Eating Crayfish Caught in Server Room Data Heist A local nørrebro business was left reeling after a group of crayfish were discovered in their server room, not only causing thousands of dollars in damage to the equipment, but also feasting on private data. According to IT staff, the crayfish, which had apparently been living in a nearby stream, made their way into the building through a small crack in the foundation. Once inside, they not only damaged the servers and networking equipment, but also found a new source of food: wireless radiation and data. "We were shocked to find that these crayfish were not only destroying our servers, but also consuming data at an alarming rate," said the company's IT manager. "It's a reminder that technology isn't the only thing we need to protect, but also the data that it holds." The company is now working to prevent future invasions by sealing off any potential entry points, closely monitoring the server room, and implementing stricter security protocols for data protection. This incident serves as a wake-up call for businesses to not only safeguard their physical infrastructure, but also to be aware of the potential for cyber attacks from unexpected sources. Regular inspections and maintenance, as well as a comprehensive approach to data security, are essential in today's digital age." #MundaneMonsters #signal_crayfish #djursarchipelago #thekoldingcreature #artistrun #oysterutopia #betweenlandandwater Mundane monsters opens at @bonamatic On February 14th. "In the book "Serene Flood", the story follows a group of children living in a future world where the sea levels have risen drastically, but instead of facing destruction and despair, they have adapted and thrived as hunter-gatherers. They are able to find ample food sources in the form of fish and other sea creatures, and create shelters using the debris left by the flooding. They form close bonds with each other and their environment, learning to respect and live in harmony with the natural world. The children are able to find joy and purpose in their new way of life, and through their resilience and resourcefulness, they are able to create a happy and fulfilling community. The book illustrates how humans can adapt and thrive in even the most challenging of circumstances, and the importance of living in balance with nature." - the algorithm chatgpt "imagining" a world without itself in a very didactic way. #MundaneMonsters #signal_crayfish #djursarchipelago #thekoldingcreature #artistrun #oysterutopia #betweenlandandwater #aiimagination Supported by @statenskunstfond (at Bonamatic) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnTolg6s8EM/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
