Qotd: Name a myth that interested you. . . Prompt 4 of #discoveringindiareadathon - #sonofthethundercloud . . There is this myth about a woman who has lost her husband and seven children to a tiger. One day when a rain drop falls on her, she becomes pregnant and a baby boy is born. Pele has grown up with that story. After he has lost his family in a famine, he leaves his village. During his travel, he's met 2 sisters and stays with them. These 2 women are more than 400 years old, living their life, hoping for rain so that the prophecy will come true. And it rains that day when Pele stays with them. The woman in the myth is the sister of these 2 women and the prophecy comes true. And what happens next is the story.. ❤️ . . The story may appear superficial but it's super refreshing and unique. The story gave me hope and happiness, made me awe in many places. The writing is so detailed and the story telling is so powerful. . . It can be read in a single sitting. I listened to the audiobook which was awesome as well. A simple story that will leave you content. I don't remember reading any #folklore . So it was an amazing experience for me. Highly recommend this one. 👍🏼 4⭐ read for me. . . I've been meaning to read Easterine Kire's books after reading the review of Don't run, my love by @nupur_flipaleaf . Thank you ❤️ And I also want to thank Paddy @thebookishtales for her review of this book which made me choose this one. . . . #bookstagram #otcbooks #otcreview #bookreview #bookrecommendations #bookstoread #unitedbookstagram #underratedbookishmondays #creativebookphotography #folktales #bookstagrammersunite #bookfeaturepage #bookphotography #bookpictures #bibliophile https://www.instagram.com/p/B11Ic_xgAnq/?igshid=g9m10rqlr1pm

Qotd: Did you participate in any readathon this month? . . #discoveringindiareadathon #parthibankanavu ~ (Parthiban's dream) . . 🐯 Parthiban, a Chozha King wants the Chozha Kingdom to be an independent one instead of being a tax payer to the Pallava Kingdom. That's his dream. Parthiban gets killed in the war with the Pallavas but before he dies, a mysterious Shivanadiyar(Shiva's devotee) promises to help Vikraman(Parthiban's son) who is just a boy, in achieving his dream. How Vikraman is making his father's dream come true is the story of Parthiban Kanavu. . . The characters are outstanding. Vikraman, even being a small boy himself is so strong and powerful. Ponnan, a boat man/operator and his wife Valli are so patriotic and they are like super support pillars of Chozha. My favorite character has to be the King of Pallavas, Narasimha Varman. He will leave you impressed in every part of the story. He encourages his son to travel, like wow. He discusses political things with his daughter Kundavi and treats her equally. He is morally fair and treats everyone right. He is such a true King. ☀️ . . The story has its own twists and turns and mysteries, politics, everything. The rich words used will pull you directly inside the story and make you stay there besides the Chozha's beautiful Kauveri river and also mesmerizes you with the Pallava's magnificent sculptures. ❤️❤️❤️ The narration and the way the story traveled is breathtaking. Highly recommend to people who love history and want to know about Tamil people and culture. . . . A book written in my mother tongue ☑️ A book based on the city you live or whose history has you intrigued ☑️ A book that features a historical figure or event ☑️ A book that has won literary award ☑️ . . . #bookstagram #otcbooks #otcreview #tamilbooks #readingmymothertongue #tamilliterature #creativebookphotography #unitedbookstagram #bookstagramindia #bookstoread #bibliophile #igreads #bookishfeature #bookreview #bookrecommendations https://www.instagram.com/p/B1y_HzAguO1/?igshid=4t2nn4p1e428
