Wrap Up! #deweysreversereadathon went better than expected! I got in 10 hours of reading. (Amazing how much audio you can complete while mowing! 😉) I did read a larger percentage of graphic novels than usual, but what works for each readathon situation doesn’t always pan out for the next. This worked good while home with the crazy kids. Graphic novels are quicker and require less full brain immersion for me, so I can easily enjoy them and still interact/supervise the kiddos. 24 Hour Readathon - Closing Survey

How would you assess your reading overall? Pretty strong actually, only a couple of books, really, but started with a pretty long book, so I’m pretty happy with it.

Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it? None at all, but just sitting in the quiet and reading was pretty effective.

What was your favorite snack? I had some chocolate, I’ve not had chocolate in a while and I was very happy about it.

Did you add any new books to your TBR/wishlist after seeing what everyone else is reading? Interesting question, I’ve not seen anyone else’s lists yet, but it’s at least made me excited to get to my own TBR and also to somehow get the full P.G. Wodehouse collection without breaking the bank.

What was your favorite book or experience from this readathon? I’ve loved all of the books in their own way. I think getting into Pepperharrow properly though has made me better.

Today is Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon! It’s a special one for me. Today is my 10-year anniversary with Dewey’s. My first readathon was October 2010. I stayed awake until 2am reading Reliquary, and I’ve associated late nights with Martha Wells books ever since. I’ve chosen suspenseful and magical books for this October readathon. I probably will not read all 5 books, but I like to have options. Hickory Dickory Dock by Agatha Christie The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James The Vine Witch by Luanne G. Smith The Dreamers by Karen Walker Thompson Another Man's Moccasins by Craig Johnson

My love of reading was sparked by my mother reading to me and children’s programming on PBS. For each page I read today, I’ll make a donation of 5 cents to the Sesame Workshop.

Not huge gains. It starts in media res, so it’s taking a little while for me to find my groove, but I like it so far. I think I’ll speed up as it gets going, though planning to spend some of the next hour with my audiobook. Also going to stop for dinner at some point.

24HourReadathon - End of Hour 24!

How would you assess your reading overall? Pretty good, I was only reading when I was awake, but when I was awake it was pretty much consistant reading!

Did you have a stategy, and if so, did you stick to it? I picked books as I went and that pretty much worked for me. I feel happy that I’ve cleared up the partically finished series.

What was your favorite snack? I made some spinich dumplings. They were superior if I do say so myself.

I’ll join in next time, if I’ve remember when it happens! I really would like to break the 1000 page mark next time!
