Ok so from the perspective of someone who’s not actually very interested in shipping:

I can definitely see Ghiralink working, and I’ve read some good fics that use it! All you have to do is change up a few events in canon and give Ghirahim a sympathetic enough backstory (or make Link a little evil but no one seems to go that route for some reason) and it can happen! They’ve got some funky parallels stuff going on (Link trying to find Zelda vs Ghirahim trying to free Demise) so that plays a part as well.

Demighiralink however is something I can’t see working unless it’s at least a little bit fucked up. The problem is Ghirahim I think. You can’t have a Ghirahim/Link that’s relatively healthy while also having the same for Ghirahim/Demise and vice versa. You just can’t make it work without being somewhat fucked up unless you drastically alter the personality of one of the characters involved.

Link/Demise however could definitely work under the right circumstances, you’ve got that warrior respect element to it that you can work with as the basis.

There isn't an option for "I ship it one-sided" because I think Ghirahim had a really fucked up relationship with Demise with a warped perception of love vs obsession but Demise is incapable of reciprocating any kindness

Ghirahim and his beloved master Demise, reuniting in the Void after being destroyed by a certain Skychild, planning for the shockwaves of their revenge to unfold across time and space to doom the descendants of their enemies.

The devotion and love of Ghirahim for his master always strikes a chord in my heart, and I like to think Demise cares for his sword, as far as his demonic self can understand affection.

I’m aware I’ve posted this art on tumblr before, back in ‘14 on my old account, so I hope you’ll forgive me for reposting it here as I think it deserves it.
