I'm a big fan of the 194X series of vertical shoot 'em ups by Capcom. This one for the 1995 arcade shooter 19XX: The War Against Destiny captures the frenetic action with the 3 player fighters (the Lockheed P-38 Lightning, deHavilland DH.98 Mosquito, and Kyushu J7W1 Shinden) diving headlong into battle with enemy fighters and bosses.

More photos from this weekend's Nellis AFB Airshow tomorrow, but to tide you over here's a shot from last year with the de Havilland DH.98 FB MkVI Mosquito over Lake Matthews, CA with Steve Hinton flying. Owned by Charles Somers.

This is one I’m really excited about. For a number of years, my local aviation society has been working on a replica DeHavilland Mosquito. It had been coming along very slowly, but in the last year has advanced in leaps and bounds.
Best of all? The idea originally was to make it a taxi-only aircraft (with original Merlins I might add!) but now? They’re aiming to make her flyable.
What an exciting project! You can learn more here

Two different time I saw the Mossie taxi, but never saw it take off or fly. Oh well, glad I got to see it on the move at all. Oshkosh 2022

Three kits my father gave me from his kit stash. He didn’t plan on building them, and had had them for a number of years. You can tell by looking at the boxes, they’re old designs. Good looking kits and the decals still look fine. Looking forward to building them.

#OTD: 83 years ago, the deHavilland’s D.H.98 Mosquito made its first flight at Hatfield, England (Nov 25, 1940). The quirky plywood aircraft became one of the most versatile Allied warplanes of #WWII, and RAF's single most important twin-engine aircraft of the war.#avgeeks

Dehavilland Mosquito, figter bomber. 400mph, 4*.303 machine guns, 4*20mm cannon, 8*60mm rockets. and sometimes bombs as well. Not bad for a flying piano. https://wrhstol.com/3cqsLzE
