not to sound incredibly biased as someone who throughly and shamelessly enjoys media that involves the person interacting with it (choose your own adventure, video games with meta elements, interactive comics, etc) but i think self inserts involving popular media are great, actually. is there no greater sense of love than wanting to make it a part of your life? finding comfort in the characters, the world, the lore? draw yourself hugging your favorite character, write about them handing you a flower. take a nap with your fictional friend. make your oc just you with a fun cape or a cool outfit and superpowers, life is short.

as long as you aren't preventing other people from enjoying it or stealing someone else's oc, go in peace and find what makes you happy.

i dont think a fictional death has ever hit me this hard, like i cant hope for Toga to make it bc like, shes not plot armor protected like fuckin bakugo, if she lives it'll come as a complete surprise but accepting the chapter as it stands rn?? i am fuckin shook because what a powerful display of love all of that was, not even just romantic love, but also selfless love, the idea that things could have been different, that Ochako made her realize if she had found something like this sooner, she could have saved lives by giving blood instead of just taking it

and she passes out holding Ochako close, she lived freely and the way she wanted to and she was the cutest girl in the whole world to Ochako

I'm not sure how to elaborate on this but Hilbert is such a fun character in the way he actively rejects redemption. He thinks he's irredeemable and has come to terms with that, but he also is desperate to avoid the responsibility that comes with actually trying to be better. He is absolutely hellbent on not changing or learning his lesson. He believes in his cause and is entirely unwilling to give it up or compromise on it. What a guy.
