Trunks at the end of the day finally alone in his bedroom about to boot up the old Gamecube to play some classic mario kart double dash. And then Bulma comes knocking down his door clearly irate. She says “I just got off the phone with Chichi-san.”

Trunks plays it cool and acts ignorant and is like “Oh, did Goten not make it home okay ?”

“Oh he made it home just fine, but she told me that the moment he walked through the door he told her all about how you two went down to that pizza parlor in town and ate 5 large pizzas between you and a horrendous amount of root beer floats and that Goten threw up on the side of the road on the way home and that you told him to ‘walk it off.’ She told me that Goten told her that you two walked the forty minutes there and the full forty minutes back in order to avoid flying so that you could hide your ki so that nobody would know that you were going in the direction of the pizza parlor. She said that he said that you paid with cash so that there would be no paper trail. She said that he said that he was feeling sick all day but you urged him to hide it to avoid suspicion. This explains why you both ate so little at dinner. Hideous. This is a lot even for you Trunks. You’re grounded and so is Goten.”

this is so stupid but i feel like when trunks and goten were like. 13. theyd play harmless little pranks and vegeta like mixing in toilet cleaner and battery corrosion into his void black coffee when he wasnt looking and like see how many bugs they could shove into his nostrils before he woke up. it was ssoooo funny but then trunks got punted into a wall and they had to stop. they would also put bits of raw meat and fish bones in his hair, they also graffiti'd all over one of his legs one time and he just never noticed. or didnt care

This is literally what dragon ball is all about. Playing harmless silly little pranks that would decimate a normal person

Vgeeta wakes up and shoots bugs out of his nose and punches trunks in the abdomen and catapaults him throuhg the wall and then he turns to Goten as if he knew he was thwere the whole time and says "Let that be a warning." But the truth is that he woke up Suddnely full of bugs and that startled him so he just punched somebody. And then he had to save face about it

I feel like Vegeta would feel the toilet cleaner and battery acid hit his stomach. he would drink the coffee and think "Hm a bit more of a kick than usual" and then he would track the sensation down his esophagus anmd then mix with his stomach acid and he would start lowly groaning like "ooouuuuggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" and he would only drink half the mug.

I was actually thinking about how fucking funny it would be if the saiyans had inconvenient weaknesses like being SUPER lightweight drinkers. and lactose intolerant. can you imagine gohan or a no-nonsense type like vegeta getting a small piña colada (with the little fancy parasol and maraschino cherry n everything) or some shit equivalent (foolishly) thinking it's something light and getting absolutely SMASHED? like half saiyan or full saiyan any control one may have will just sorta. melt away (perhaps akin to the way water hits the paper wrapper of a straw. obliterated). And they'll really just get in their feelings ynkow. etc etc

this thought was inspired by my own fatha getting plastered with the rest of the family during christmas. very funny and very very affectionate . GOOD NITE!! 🌷

Interesting your observation about goku's ''love''…. I've thought something similar over time…. although it's a bit strange and I would even say funny how Vegeta feels and shows a much more human love than he does.

I'm honestly moved by how consistent Goku's writing is regarding this ... especially when there are other characters you can compare direct differences with.

It IS interesting to consider Vegeta in all of this .... Perhaps it's just a difference of personality, or maybe Vegeta's upbringing around others (despite being socially and emotionally removed) was enough to make him different from Goku.

Our sample size of Saiyans is much too small for us to draw any conclusions about Saiyan nature, so it's a mysterious variable. And Vegeta is pretty reserved and stoic- will we ever really know what he has going on inside...?

Theres probably like. A million things to say here ...

Vegeta certainly doesnt love every opponent like Goku does. But he does hold a sensible respect for the best of them. Maybe Vegeta's upbringing of emotional blocking factors in?

Vegeta did have the space and time to settle down into and choose his family and friends, and finding his place in that, and that careful way of his is just so different from the way that Goku easily befriends most of everyone and then lets Chichi make homelife decisions for him. He didnt even choose her, she chose him. If she hadnt, would Goku have ever had a family? I'm inclined to believe he wouldn't.

If Vegeta hadnt accidentally procreated with Bulma, would he have ever settled into having a family? Hm ... their nextborn WAS out of volition. But it was 14 years later. But that's just how long it took him to come around.

Vegeta runs on battle just as much as Goku does. But being fueled by something does not mean that it tastes like love. But to Goku, I think it's all one in the same. Huh...

Worth thinking about for forever.
