Day 8 and Day 9
Day 8 was my last day in San Diego. Check-out of the hotel was in the morning, but my flight out was not until the evening, so I had one more half-day with my fandom (and roadtrip) friends in La Mesa.
All the goodbyes were done as they dropped me off at the airport (around 3pm). It's been such a blast meeting all these awesome people that up 'til now had just been names, aliases and avatars on fan sites.
Anyway, my flight from Sand Diego to Vancouver left around 5:30pm, flying up the coast until I could see snow-capped mountains below us, sometimes protruding above clouds.
(No prizes for guessing which airline I flew with!)
Managed to spend a bit of time on the flight working on my minibang fic!
Touched down in Vancouver a little after 8:30pm. Customs and baggage claim cleared, taxi ride downtown and I was in my hotel room by 10pm.
It's so weird to be in a place where the sky stays so light so long after sunset - not to mention that the sun doesn't set until 9pm! At 10pm the sky was just beginning to darken enough to call it night.
Day 9, getting my bearings in Vancouver, finding out what I can walk to and where I might need to take the bus, and how to go about that . . .
Decided to take the bus to Stanley Park and visit the Vancouver Aquarium. Took about 200 pictures of fish and marine life and frogs and Amazonian animals (including monkeys).
Then it was off for a walk around (one end of) the park.
Even encountered some of the local wildlife.
On the way "home" I had to stop in at a Rocky Mountaineer visitor center to pick up my boarding pass and luggage labels.
By the time I got back to the hotel my feet were sore from all the walking. So, I stayed in, cooked some dinner (my hotel room has a really good kitchenette!!!) and took it easy for the evening!

one of my favorite things about zedaph is that on a server full of people that find strange and oft-overlooked minecraft mechanics or rare events and then see just how far they can push them in the name of spectacle or efficiency or world-breaking, zed is over here finding these mechanics in order to do the weirdest things he can think of in as entertaining a manner as possible
like i 100% have faith in zedaph's theoretical ability to be just as efficient or spectacular or world-breaking. if he wanted to do that stuff, i trust that he absolutely could. but thats so far from being his priority. instead, hes going to spend around a week of irl time focused entirely on eventually having the good luck to spawn in something insanely rare so that he can convert it into something even rarer, the result of which being something that 99% of the server reacts with complete and utter shock that it even exists in the first place, just because its zany and funny and he wanted to. and i love that

So I've seen at least two post that call Stardew Valley a stressful game and as a loser who just about spend over 600 hours on that game along with at least 2 perfection farms I couldn't disargee more. I understand that farming sims aren't everyones cup of tea, I mostly grew up being the only one who truly enjoyed harvest moon. But I also feel like a lot of people just go into it with the completely wrong mindset. I read about complaints that basically go "theres a timer for the day and the seasons so you can't get X items when you want to/forgot to grab them during the season" And all I can say to that really is why are you rushing? This isn't real life you are not on a deadline you can take until year 10 to complete the community center you can wait until year 10000 there is no end and limit to the years you can spend. No offense but the mentality of minmaxing and getting stuff done the fastest way possible in real life have ruined ur outlook on a video game that legit has no time limit. You can sleep years away if you want to there is no consequence to doing so. Your animals don't even die when you do not feed them. Why are you so stressed? Why are you rushing this? Just take a breath and relax, some days I water my crops and go straight to bed, some others I spend fishing or doing other stuff. You have ALL the time in the game. The fact that some items are locked behind seasons have almost no consequence either, the only one I can think of is that you have to wait until next year. I understand fully if a game simply isn't your cup of tea but to go into one with a mindset of "I have to get everything done quickly" will obviously ruin the experience for you. Just relax and take it from day to day. Nobody is rushing you but yourself.

THE NUMEROLOGY OF THE BEGINNING OF RELATIONSHIPS
If you start dating on a 1 day there will likely be a lot of arguing and fighting in the relationship
If you start dating on a 2 day you will likely have a peaceful relationship
If you start dating on a 3 day you will likely be able to communicate well and laugh a lot together
If you start dating on a 4 day you will likely have to work hard to keep the relationship going long term
If you start dating on a 5 day you’re more likely to have children together although it may be more of a sexual relationship than romantic. You may travel a lot together as well
If you start dating on a 6 day you’ll likely start a family together
If you start dating on a 7 day it will end badly (ex: Valentine’s Day 2+1+4=7- don’t start dating on this day)
If you start dating on an 8 day you could be a very powerful couple however the relationship could involve lots of karmic lessons
If you start dating on a 9 day your egos may get in the way of the relationship and it will likely end with you both having an extremely hard time letting go (ex: Brazil’s Valentine’s Day 6+1+2=9- don’t start dating on this day)
If you start dating on an 11 day you will be very empathetic towards each other’s emotions. This is one of the best days to start a relationship
If you start dating on a 22 day you will be able to build a strong relationship with one another and gain wisdom together
If you start dating on a 33 day you will both teach one another a lot
