Spring break is here for us and we made it to see some ocean! I'm hoping to have more ocean animal cards in my next release so needed some inspiration. I actually saw a ton of jellyfish (cool to see, not great for wading into the cold sea), 3 snakes (also not great for wading), and a ton of ospreys (gorgeous). Visited a house on the Chesapeake Bay. We kayaked along the bay and it made me feel so peaceful and present, watching the ospreys in their seaside nests and flying overhead, hearing the birds and the waves lapping. So relaxing and my kids really love the ocean as much as I do. Spent some happy days in the nice weather. Hopefully this feeling lasts. I did it. I did a design in a day. We'll call this finished! I didn't agonize over colors, I just painted on my ipad and tried to enjoy it as my kids were demanding my attention after they got bored with the 3 activities I had lined up in order to get this time. Well, I did the plate mockup the next day, but this is progress. I love designing, but I would like to spend more time outdoors this year, swimming and hiking and going on adventures with my kids, getting inspiration on what to draw... and I can spend a couple hours less on whether this plate background should be blue or green (you think green??). One day I made a panda pattern. 🐼🌿 That pattern was made into a dress for a toddler. The toddler saw it and loved pandas so much that she got dressed so fast (less than a half hour), didn’t argue at all, was in such a good mood the rest of the day because of the beautiful dress that she ate all her food without throwing anything, got into the carseat so smoothly, and the mom conquered the day. My daydream. My independent toddler refuses to wear anything but dresses everyday. I try real hard to limit the pink at least. Every week for a while has felt like a long week.. I think it comes with having 2 kids and a business during a long pandemic and the amount of sleep I get with a baby. I finally made a pattern out of these flowers. The decision-making that goes into making a pattern is more extensive for me than when drawing a greeting card. Some days it's quick, some days I wish I had someone over my shoulder saying "that's great!" and "yuck, no way!" My husband constantly turns down offers for this job unfortunately. This took me longer than I'd hoped, but I think I'm finally feeling settled with it. What to say about this cat... she is surrounded by happy things, has an abundance of happy times, but she is a tired cat. Kind of like someone I know.
