to tell you that you’re good at crocheting would be lying to you but you don’t think that spencer is lying at all, because of course for a man who knows everything about the workings of the world, he doesn’t know what a good crochet scarf looks like.

originally it was a prototype of yours, your first attempt after watching a youtube tutorial twice but spencer insists on having it, saying that it's too much yarn to go to waste and when you said that you can just pull it out, he didn't sit around to hear. he carries it around like a trophy of some sort, making a point of wearing it everywhere he goes.

your attempts of trying to tell him to knock it off, promising that you'll make another one that looks more decent but spencer says he likes the uneven lines, likes how the fluff rubs against his skin and how it keeps him warmer than a normal scarf. you think--scratch that, you know that it's all bullshit, but spencer's one immovable object to go against. getting ready to go to work together used to be your favorite part of the day but now it's just embarrassing.

embarrassing would be a wrong word. more like frustrating.

"you crocheted it in my favorite color yn," spencer defends the ugly scarf like it's his child, throwing it around his shoulder and wrapping it snugly around his neck. the purple looks absolutely offensive against the beige of his thrifted sweater, but his eyes melting and lips pouting at you made the look work. kind of. it's still fucking ugly.

"that's 'cause you bought the yarn for me spence," you roll your eyes exasperatedly. the scarf's been a conversation topic every morning since spencer saw it sitting sadly in your closet and fell in love with it. considering how spencer's entire wardrobe is made of old man clothes and unconventional colors, you would understand the appeal of something looking wonky and strange, but the scarf is a stretch.

to be honest, you think it's endearing, spencer's tainted fashion sense. it makes him look softer, heartier, like a welcoming little plush bear with his wispy curls and pink cheeks and gentle voice and worn cardigans. the scarf does fit all his criteria for a good piece of clothing so you should've saw it coming that he would hold on to it like his lifeline and you would tolerate it if he didn't go to every single person he sees throughout the day and boast about the maker of the scarf and you shrinking in the corner as he talks about you. morgan was the first to laugh about it, followed by emily.

"got the hands to diffuse a bomb but not one to crochet a decent scarf, huh?" morgan would say as he walks past your cubicle, a cheshire grin on his face. emily would chuckle. you would snap at him, "shut the hell up morgan," and then sigh. because what the hell. the scarf is so fucking ugly but spencer parades it like the queen's necklace.

you get better at crocheting--it helps you think and you would do it on the plane to new cases sometimes and threaten to stab emily if she makes fun of you--and eventually, you finish crocheting a duplicate for spencer's monstrosity of a purple scarf. this one is more in the shape of a scarf instead of one wacky-looking pasta noodle, with straight chains and the shade of purple on this one is cuter; dark and elegant. you couldn't wait to show it to spencer, couldn't wait for him to finally throw away the crusty scarf he loves so much.

the new one sits, folded neatly, on the table on his side of the bed. for days. winter rolls around and spencer wears it to fucking sleep.

"give that poor scarf a break reid," emily comments. spencer chews on his lip as he flicks through files, silent and unbothered, fingers unconsciously running through the bumpy chains, back and forth. you mumble your agreement and when he pays no attention to you like he did emily, too immerse in his work.

after work that day, you and spencer take a walk around the city, bodies huddled closely together. the first snowflake falls and spencer catches it on his finger, shoving his finger closely to your face, proud of himself. his grin is hidden underneath the purple scarf and for the first time, you don't mind.

"it melted," you tell him and spencer drops his hand, flicking at his index finger disappointedly.

"i can't wait for it to snow," he says, looking up at the grey sky.

"i can't wait for that scarf to decompose," you say, just speaking off the top of your head.

"i like the scarf," spencer quips, mood clashing yours.

"i know you do baby," you sigh, defeated. spencer's frozen fingers grasp yours and runs his fingers over the bumps of your knuckles. being so close you can smell him, soft and sweet like vanilla and old cotton and comfort. "why don't you ever wear the other one?"

spencer shrugs. "just doesn't feel the same." he adds. "and i like this purple better."

heurhgh. thinkin abt the prince and the sea witch AU because i am an ocean boy and and and theres so much to thinkabout with this one!!!! i love aus that tap into classic fairytales becasue theres so much to work with!!! connections to make and parallels to draw

context and thoughts under tha cut cus this au sorta escaped me at first and there's very little stuff about it in english

the original au came from a leaflet that was bundled with volume 8 on toranoana:

rough translation explains that mermaid princess hinaichi rescued prince ronaldo, and sea witch draluc offers to give her legs to meet him again (and if he doesn't like her she'll turn into seafoam) which she declines. (literally what she says is "no need!" and the big words to the side of her say "no regrets" which is hilarious.) thats the end of the story and ronaldo is left alone. also, john is a sea turtle that lives in a clam.

im lifting my own headcanons and such from the original little mermaid story (not so much the didney one) where the prince doesn't see the mermaid and instead falls in love with this woman who comes to help him from a nearby temple (who he doesn't realize is actually the princess he's betrothed to later.) in this au that's draluc who was observing from a distance. (i just drew a half sunken agora and im calling that a temple. watever. its refd from one of the old arts and i think its pretty)

i like the idea that ronaldo exaggerates his own memory of spotting draluc that day due to the distance making details difficult paired with the fact that he was probably a little delirious. the idea that he doesn't immediately put together that draluc is the person he saw is kinda fun 2 me, and of course he'd make up some beautiful girl in his head. of course he would.

im messing with some ideas about draluc deciding to meddle with ronaldo instead - does he offer to turn him into a merman to look for his made up maiden? or does draluc come to land for his own reasons? maybe they visit each other at the temple every day and bring each other little things and talk and stuff. itd be cute if they butted heads but still went to see each other every day anyways.

a popular thing in the au is draluc being captured - maybe ronaldo, desparate to find his love and only knowing she was some sort of fish, does something stupid like setting up nets and traps. hahah. maybe he catches draluc and takes him to his castle to learn about merfolk and such. iunno. whatever the case i hope they fall in love in the process and also bicker a lot like their usual schtick

ive got a little sad idea that borrows from some 30 years later au stuff where draluc is worried about ronaldo's lifespan (this is also in the orig little mermaid where mermaids live longer than humans by hundreds of years) but also can't turn human to match ronaldo because it's too painful for him to walk on legs (since one of the au rules is that he must always be weak and the orig little mermaid made it clear that legs hurted real bad)

also also i very big headcanon draluc the sea witch has a sunken castle that looks a lot like ponyo's dad's house on the inside. fulla potions and stuff. wouldnt that be cute! maybe hes got an interest in human life/a collection of old things kinda like didney little mermaid - since canon draluc is so well adjusted to modern human stuff like games and livestreams and whatnot. in this au i think he'd be a lot more stubborn and reluctant to admit it, though, cus i also like the idea that his grandpa went the route of loving a human and going to land and maybe he doesn't want to end up like that? but it might be fate just cus draluc and ronaldo parallel D and helsing so well.

also i still want hinaichi to be in it but her rejection of the plot is so funny and good, i don't want to shove her in without thinking of a good way for it to make sense. she's good friends with draluc and likes his cooking...can you cook underwater??? maybe magically?? maybe draluc takes up cooking on land and brings hinaichi things he makes??? maybe then she gets interested in humans and wants to come to land to try all the cooking theyve got. iunno.

i usually keep this sort of note taking and doodling to myself but this fandom needs all the stimulation it can get. hiii hellooo :]

so ever since i drew that lil thing of essek painting a frank stella inspired painting (or even before), ive been thinking of what kinds of art each of the m9 would do. essek ofc is inspired by a minimalist show that i went to here, all the big names from that movement were shown, but those really dark, sinkhole-like paintings are speaking to me. another artwork of boxes made of mirrors also seems like the thing he would do too

there's a kiln here that we visited which was huge, and surrounding it were artists' studios and some other ceramic sellers, i imagine the clay family having a place like this in the middle of nowhere amongst the trees, and caleb would do his work there

anyways because at heart im a shadowgast luver its centred around them,, they meet at an artist residency or something like that and its an incredibly slow burn that involves talking and not-talking and looking and not-looking. in the end i am but a simple wong kar wai fan so. that kinda vibes would definitely influence this, i would describe it as a quiet burning i guess?? time skipy and words that are not said

i think im gonna rant a bit more about their different mediums and styles so i'll keep it under the cut

i think caleb sculpts figures and portraits, but in a sad, kathe kollwitz charcoal vibe. maybe some funky looking animals, perhaps some pots and vases to look at the pretty glazes. he's interested in using fire to burn texture into different mediums, like ive seen it being used on shellac to make a really cool net of ink looking structure.. but yknow, just seeing the aftermath of glazed ceramic from the kiln is enough, and probably better for him to keep his distance anyways

the clay family produces most of the ceramic to sell, vases, pots, plates, cups, teapots, yknow just a whole array. and its really colourful too, depicting every family members different style. i think caduceus would do some matte glazes with a lot of different colours, theyre all a little wonky but theyre better off that way anyways. he does some really mean ink calligraphy and painting though

jester definitely does,, everything, whatever her heart desires kinda thang. she makes pastel textile installations and lighthearted cute paintings, but theyre always so contemplative and soothing. she gets m9 a lot of work cus her mom has connections, etc etc. i really love the idea of jester creating works that talk about the female body and femininity (definitely not projecting no)

beau is a printmaker and photographer who's really experimental, she loves cyanotypes and printing flowers (for yasha), idk she seems like she would put fabric and rocks into the washing machine to see what would happen. u would probably catch her in someone elses studio learning about what they do or in the library learning about what old people did

veth works in a museum as a curator, getting beau to help her sometimes with gathering artworks and artists etc. she probably organises community art projects for kids and public art installations. her house is full of m9's artworks and various other artists shes worked with.

yasha does bouquets as her post-retirement part time job, prior to that no one really knows what she did ("she probably murdered a bunch of people and is now hiding from the government"). fjord draws comics for fun but is also not a job for him, molly is a question mark for me. but these guys probably wont be in it as much anyways

im still not sure what format i wanna do this in, im actually having fun just writing it in my notebook now (digital does not facilitate the creative juices) but i do want to do some visuals like fake movie stills or storyboards. maybe they will work together well???? dunno. working on the other shadowgasty thing im doing made me realise how much easier it is to draw when there's a script already there, so im writing the script for myself

im definitely not as practiced in writing as i am in drawing, but idk im just gonna have some fun and see where that takes me, meanwhile try not to feel too bad that its fanart HAHA (very bad habit)

-riz gets kind of overwhelmed sometimes at the prospect of being on social media and so as a kind of half compromise half joke they always slightly blur riz out of photos and he becomes to be known as the Cryptid™️ of the bad kids online, and he loves it.

-whenever kristen gets stressed or just needs to do something with her hands, she makes friendship bracelets. this has led to every bad kid wearing at least four at all times, as well as more tied onto their backpacks.

-ayda doesn’t super understand what qualifies as a date and fig has just kinda been like “whenever we’re alone together and you want it to be!” so since ayda doesnt like going on a lot of the traditional sort of dates (bc most are in public places which is. overwhelming) they’ll just hang out together normally as they are and then when they part ways ayda will always go “thank you for the date :]”

-gorgug helps design the album covers and merch for the band bc he likes drawing !

-a lot of aelwyn’s journey to continue her redemption is intertwined with the acceptance of what has changed about her, both physically and mentally. i think a big thing she has to reckon with is having chronic fatigue and pain and sometimes needing to rely on other people because of that. it helps strengthen her bond with adaine as they both learn to live with their respective issues and make sure the other is okay

-boggy and g.a.f hang out together . they are besties.

-jawbone also starts doing sex ed at their school and he makes sure to talk a lil about asexuality and that’s when both riz and adaine are like oh theres a word for that …

-on the rare-ish days where the other bad kids are busy (maybe w their respective partners) adaine and riz will get together to have their annual Bitch About Allos sessions where they just rant to each other about how little sense attraction makes. they go to basrars and get ice cream and it is absolutely cathartic

In terms of personality, l'd say l'm rather outgoing, witty and a bit nerdy. I've often been told l intimidate people, however I like to think they don't know me well enough to judge. Ive been told I can be quite loud, and I have some blunt, dry sense of humour which my friends seem to like. I'm an ENTP through and through and am currently in law school, stereotypical as fuck ik. I can sometimes struggle to trust people due to past experiences, however I think I’ve got the hang of reading people now to know when they’re my kind of cunt or not.

I can have a short temper and struggle with my emotions sometimes, (diagnosed bpd/adhd, looooove to see it) but am in the process of learning to manage them quite well.

Hobby wise, I enjoy drawing, painting and going out with my friends to concerts and festivals. I Love music, specifically Goth, Metal (Death, Goth metal, Nü metal, all sorts) and a little bit of rock obviously. I'm tempted to start learning how to play the drums or guitar but am not sure where to start, plus school takes up so much of my time.

- Maya was team Money this splatfest solely because Marie promised her if money won she’d get her a bunch of gifts to celebrate so she joined to help her mom. (Marie would have done that no matter what team won the splatfest. She just wanted her daughter on her team with her.)

- Marie and Maya do a lot of baking together just for fun as an excuse to hang out. They’ll get store-bought brownie mix and cookie dough and stuff and set aside days to just make stuff together while they play music and just sing and dance and be goofy together during it. Marie lets Maya crack the eggs Cus it’s her favorite part and she calls her a little master baker.

- There’s been a few times Marie brought Maya with her to her radio show. Everytime she lies to her managers being like “oh what’s better for a studying podcast than helping my daughter with her school homework”, and then every time it happens the procrastinating aspect of the show gets amped up to 100 and literally nothing gets done and Marie just spends the whole time talking about Maya and different kid stuff she does that she finds adorable and Maya spends the whole time going “mommmmm” cus theyre live and she doesn’t wanna be embarrassed (even though it’s not that bad lmao).

- contrast to popular belief Maya does go to school sometimes I just literally never make any content of it at all in the slightest (Cus I hate school and I hate writing and drawing about characters going to school), but anyways Marie makes Maya lunches still even though she’s old enough where you’d expect her to make her own lunches, just because she enjoys it and likes leaving lil notes and stuff in it for her. Maya absolutely adores it especially when Marie packs her sandwiches and uses fun sandwich cutters on it like dinosaur or bear ones.

- Marie always supports Maya’s Halloween costumes she wants to do every year no matter how complicated or odd they are. She wants to be a ghost? Okay boom Marie bought a whole sheet for her just to cut eye holes out of for. She wants to be Freddy Fazbear okay well she’s getting her hot glue gun different fabric and making her the best Freddy fazbear costume to ever exist instead of the cheep ones in Mako Mart.

- during splat3, every splatfest since there’s people now going to inkopolis plaza and Splatsville to watch idols perform for it, the crowds around Callie and Marie performing are a lot more tame now so they get a lot more breaks between now, so it’s very easy for Marie to get Maya up on stage with her to give her a nice place to sit and look at all the lights and decorations while they both take a splatfest break

Is it considered a Fnaf OC if you're literally taking an existing OC and just turning them into Fnaf Security Breach Animatronics for the fun of it?

Anyway I was just proud of these drawings of both My and @pastelypunky 's OCs in Fnaf Security Breach's 2d artstyle (god the artstyle for the ingame art bits is so cute..)

And also got some lore about them.

Anyway introducing the Princess and her former Prince of SuperStar DayCare. Said former Prince is now part of the rock show in the Atrium and Rockstar Row.

Princess Marguerite is a Bat-Swan Chimera

Prince Resolve Riff Raff is a Bat.

The Lore (because there's a bit) is gonna be put under a Read More for tidy reasons. :)

Marguerite, Resolve and one another animatronic (A bird themed one named Clarity.) are all part of the "Fairytale Theatre Troupe" to match the jester theme of the Daycare Attendant while also tying in with the animal animatronics of the Glamrocks. The Fairytale Theatre Troupe were meant to help keep the young kids entertained and perform at the daycare theatre while kids were there.

Unfortunately for the Fairytale Troupe, their Prince kept wandering into the Atrium to watch the Glamrocks, and the staff usually had to grab the Princess who was the only one who could get him to return to Daycare without much fuss. (which usually only lasted a few minutes and then he'd be right back.)

Eventually the Staff got frustrated and no amounts of trying to correct the programming ever fixed this weird "bug", so instead they changed his parts and Resolve now goes by Riff Raff and is one of the animatronics that play later in the day for the older/teen demographic kids.

Meanwhile Marguerite still performs with Clarity who's still part of the troupe, but sometimes she can be seen in the "glamrock" form she has and wander the atrium to go visit her former prince.

(Unfortunately Mar isn't usually allowed into the Atrium often cus she spends way too much time watching the other animatronics when she gets the chance.)

Anyway Mar's got 2 sets of eyes, the second ones below her usual ones are actually cameras! used to help keep track of the lil tots.

Meanwhile Riff's sunglasses and make up (those pink streaks on his cheeks) are used to cover up the hearts that are from his former design as Fairytale Prince. Bit hard to be a Cool Rockstar tm when you got hearts tattooed all over.

i like themis and erich a lot. they're both children who long to be needed. themis has the gift of being something of a prodigy while erich was made to fail but they still found it in them to stand together cus they're just people in the end. how crazy it is to see where that privilege then takes elidibus in the future vs erich

i didnt realize it would hit in some weird way to see lahabrea see like...the reincarnation of his son living a very happy and fulfilled life as a mortal shard. so many complicated emotions in one quiet pause. knowing that you would have made the same choices that mirror athena's, knowing you spent this whole time casting judgement upon her, binding her, going back and forth on her, but seeing that in the future you'd take the same path. people born in one time leaving their scars upon people who don't fit in the mold like erich and then coming to terms that The Times have changed anyways. things you only made peace with in knowing it's been long over

athena's thing kind of makes me think they were expecting players to resonate more with endwalker's whole thing of you are not a tool and you are worthy of living even if imperfect based on past responses to the concept of the WoL. i think the raids straightforwardly reiterating so much of this is neat

it makes me so ough that erich's last words to athena were "and who made me that way?" but at the same time knowing he got sundered and some piece of his soul gets to live again in a world where he is allowed to be curious and silly and full of life...THE FACT HE WISHED TO MEET US AGAIN...what we know and what we don't know.........

OVERALLLLL i enjoyed pandermonium it was fun. the highlight really was erich and uncovering the thread of his existence was so satisfying and strange. reaching for yourself throughout all space and time. and i keep my opinion of themis as...i mean he even himself says it he doesnt know the elidibus of the future and can't speak for him. it was VERY enjoyable seeing the bits and pieces of him though

Rare it is so crazy to remember that pome and mari were on their own without rain or Millie for a while 😭 whatthe hell… is there anything you wanna talk about in regards to their relationship?

Oughh oh god. I mean like, Michelle and the girls all were kids together except for that one time I was like um do i include Michelle. Yes yes i do and will. Michelle is literally the first so lol and Pomme being the middle child here plays with both a lot, but Michelle likes to spend more time with the older kids rather than with Marigold. I think that's why Mari gets attached to Millie immediately, other than the fact that they're both explosively playful, even if Millie appears calmer when they're not playing together. Mari constantly bothering Rain and riling him up to get a reaction and start bickering. Oh Mari. ANYWAYS to really answer your question, they get along pretty well and Mari gets Pomme to act a little rebellious and cause chaos together, but Pomme is a Lot calmer than her and prefers less messy playing. So Mari likes to rile her up and Pomme can get so nervous that she tears up and gets overwhelmed and hides away in the garden. Mari's not trying to be mean, so she apologizes always, she just doesn't give up easily, since half the time, Pomme ends up having fun causing minor chaotic messes. Like, putting dirt in their favorite glasses to plant flowers, bringing many ants in the kitchen, breaking toys by throwing them out the second story window onto the garden bushes, tearing curtains, jumping from the sofas to chairs to kitchen counters. Kids playing ya know. And she does many times shield Mari from the blame, though Puffychu know them well, so they let it slide easily.

Gooooooood, characterization is so difficult, especially when i make SO many kids and siblings. They have to make sense and especially the puffychu kids make a lot of sense to me i relate to how they act, probably cus i have 3 siblings and we all have different ages, my little brother being half my age. So it's not so weird that my piratecove au characters have so much lore and characterization and i created them in early January, meanwhile my flowerpot au kids I've been drawing since September (the twins) and October (Finch) and I'm just now really giving them some backstory and characterization. But also, the Piratecove au family is way messier and chaotic, which reminds me of mine really, and the Flowerpot au family, is just, so calm and peaceful, its really comforting to me, what I'd imagine I'd love having. So i don't wanna, idk, "taint" them with trauma. But i realise, they gotta have some everydya stuff going wrong at least, or bickering, or stuff like that. And then i wrote Finch's backstory Ough. Anywayys The twins are playful but very composed and calm, Finch is a distinctively quiet kid, who looks grumpy most of the time and likes to play alone and quiet places, i don't think he'd enjoy playing with Mari lol L, How did i get here why am i rambling

anyways I've been thinking about the school system lately. I've recently discovered that if I turn schoolwork into a stim activity I forget that it's actually supposed to teach me stuff. At this point I'm just repeating what they say and daydreaming mindlessly about my fics and future activities.

so how can I fix the school system... since I figured out a way around it by ignoring it completely, what's a way I can suggest betterments?

that's bullcrap, c'mon I tried that for years and only got more stressed.

the main problem with schoolwork is that it's boring, and it doesn't properly measure intelligence at all. Yes, the things they do mention, like science, language arts, history, all very important, but they're not letting us come to the discovery ourselves, which makes the value of learning that 'protons are positive' completely meaningless.

there's no reward. The 'reward' we get is good grades and praise, which actually harm our want to learn even further! If the prospect of a reward is the driving force to do something, you're gunna do that something as lazily as you can get away with just to get that reward.

so first you remove grades.

but then you're left with a boring quiz that doesn't hold any sense of accomplishment once you finish it, so why do it?

most of you read books, what makes you keep reading it? My mother says that the reason she keeps reading is cus she wants to know how it ends, so that means she has questions right? Questions about the story, characters, etcetc. And a phrase I hear sometimes in the writing community is, "Its not about what happens, its how it happens."

so if we make the educational system more like reading a book... A short expositional phase that gets the student's attention, filled with questions, possibilities, and few answers... basically get the student involved, get them outside, have them look at something complex and complicated and get them to say, "I wanna know more about THAT."

Also like with drawing! Most people start drawing because of professional art they saw.

creativity and curiosity are VITAL in learning new concepts.

here's more about how predictable today's system is. Most of my answers are based entirely off of PURELY the word choice of the question, I get questions right just by seeing which answer is 'fancier' looking.

you want kids to pay attention in class? Don't give them A,B,C answers, dummy, give them a topic and they'll come up with their own answer. Doesn't matter if they're wrong or right, they tried to answer it, just keep exploring the topic and they'll come to the conclusion eventually.

treat the subject like a discussion. I learned that in America, you can't eat a dead body off the side of the road because it qualifies as having the corpse in your possession. And it only stuck in my brain because there were a lot of people adding onto the conversation.

and no, taking students outside with worksheets and explaining how a river works is not a good example of learning.

teacher who put that 'Learning is Fun!' poster on their walls are the bane of my existence. Cus they always bullshit people if they don't do their work correctly.

if I've repeated words someone's already said I'm very sorry, I don't mean to bore people with the same old sentence over and over again :( I'm genuinely just frustrated with school and it's been boiling in my brain for the past few years.
