i am so, so happy to finally be able to introduce Calamari Cookie's crew, aka the crew of the Kraken Fortune! + a quick line-up of the goofballs 💕💕

Centipus

[Since 100 tentacle attacks is too many, I’ve borrowed some mechanics from the hekatonkheries to represent its many, many attacks. This would probably be a good monster to use the mythic rules with, except that I hate the mythic rules.]

Centipus This immense cephalopod-like creature has a glaring face on its bulbous white body. It has more tentacles than anatomy or sanity should allow.

The centipus is a monstrous, and thankfully rare, deep sea predator. Like the name suggests, they have a hundred tentacles instead of the usual eight or ten possessed by cephalopods, and they have a dim but capricious intelligence. A centipus spends most of its life deep within ocean trenches and other extremely deep places, hunting whales, sea serpents and other giants of the deep. Due to their ravenous hunger, they are much feared by aquatic humanoids and those that live near a centipus’ territory are always on the lookout for the stirrings of the beast.

The origins of the centipus are obscure, and multiple hypotheses have been put forward by scholars and sages. A cabal of krakens has claimed to have created them in the distant past, but a centipus will kill and eat a kraken as eagerly as any other large sea life. Other sources suggest the influence of demons, qlippoths or the Great Old Ones. Whatever their origins, there are rarely more than a single centipus per ocean basin, and fewer than a dozen likely exist on any given planet.

A centipus is a straightforward combatant, but no less deadly for it. It attacks with both a crushing bite and its many tentacles. Fortunately, it can only bring a handful of tentacles to bear on a single opponent, but it can lash out at as many foes at it can reach. A centipus can grapple a ship’s entire crew at once without penalty. If badly injured, a centipus will attempt to flee, first using its breath weapon as a lethal approximation of an octopus’ ink to blind and burn opponents before jetting away.

Deep Diver (Ex) A centipus does not take damage from pressure effects at any level of ocean depth. It can change its depth rapidly without taking damage. Flurry of Tentacles (Ex) Although a centipus has 100 tentacles, it does not make 100 tentacle attacks. Instead, a centipus makes three tentacle attacks against all opponents within its reach when it uses its tentacles. Creatures of Huge size or larger can be targeted with an additional three tentacle attacks per size category above Large. Jet (Ex) A centipus can jet backward once per round as a full-round action, at a speed of 250 feet. It must move in a straight line while jetting, and does not provoke attacks of opportunity when it does so. Superior Reflexes (Ex) A centipus gains Combat Reflexes as a bonus feat, and can make any number of attacks of opportunity in a round. It can maintain any number of grapples against Large or smaller opponents as a swift action, and does not gain the grappled condition if it is grappling only Large or smaller opponents.

IM SO SORRY IT TOO SO LONG TO ANSWER at first i wanted to answer with a drawing/couple of sketches but then i procrastinated which made me feel bad, because i RLLY wanted to share this lore.

okay so, let's just start with saying this off chest,

calamari cookie is the secret, land identity of Kraken Cookie, a legendary kraken-like sea creature which has roamed the seas around the Creme Republic.

I've been working on a story for it for a while now, so i'll share a quick timeline. Calamari/Kraken uses she/he/they pronouns in both identities.

The story happens somewhere after the events of A Mermaid's Tale, but in a different part of the sea. With the ongoing hunt for sea creature cookies, great kraken cookie was one of the main targets for hunting season, being called a "threat" to all the cookies of the republic, but because of Abalone's demise events prior, another crew of cookies was assigned with hunting her. These cookies were the family of Macadamia Cookie, the Macadamia Clan. It wasn't a powerful house like House Oyster, hell it was a simple Cookie Clan. But the republic knew these cookies were the creme de la creme of sailors, hardened by their bond and experiences.

The at the time head of the clan, which was macadamia's maternal ancestor, was assigned with hunting kraken cookie for good.

instead, what she saw was not a monster, not a dangerous sea creature, but a hurt cookie drowned in grief from all the pain that cookies like abalone has caused them and their friends. forming a friendship between the two, macadamia's ancestor came with an offer, that they will protect great kraken at any cost and will hide the truth, but he will have to dissappear from the public eye. and so, using magic, kraken cookie has taken the land identity of calamari cookie, as macadamia's family sworn protection of her.

it is now a family secret that the family clan has hidden the truth, saving the sea cookie instead of slaying it, like they were commissioned with. everyone believes that "the kraken is dead", yet no one knows the truth. that is the reason why macadamia cookie is calamari's cookie first mate and most trusted crew member, just as his ancestors were her most trusted cookies too.

after all these years, calamari is still grateful for the help, and thank to them, she learned that not all land cookies are evil, but was still hurt by the ones who were rotten inside, that is why, calamari never takes evil cookies lightly, especially those who dare threaten her found family - the kraken fortune crew.

guava cookie actually loves kids and always takes care of them when they r in need. sometimes they will bring a random sick kid to the ship and tell crab cake to make them a hearty meal to brighten up their day.

plus im sure that ikura cookie, as an amazing swimmer and an animal lover would absolutely love peppermint cookie... the kid tells the crew abt stories abt the ocean and they listen with so much fascination
