Great news for uninsured adults in the USA who want a COVID-19 booster! It now appears that ALL CVS locations are now active participants in the Bridge Access Program. The Bridge Access Program gives out free Covid-19 vaccinations to 18+ adults who otherwise can't afford one, so if you have a CVS near you, please go get one! For others who don't have a CVS near them, please go to vaccines.gov, click on "Find Covid-19 vaccines", fill out which vaccines you prefer (you can mix different vaccines if you have to so i reccomend just marking all of them for the age groups you need), and when the next page loads mark the "Bridge Access Program Participant" option to see only locations that are Bridge Access Program participants. Hopefully, other places that aren't CVS will start participating soon, so just check back every so often to see if there are any updates. The CDC Bridge Access Program website also has more details on what locations will be participating, but only CVS is appearing as an active participant on the vaccines.gov location finder at the moment.

Updated Covid-19 vaccines are coming mid-September, officials say | CNN
Covid-19 vaccines that have been tweaked to teach the body how to fend off the current crop of circulating variants are now expected to land in drugstores and clinics in mid-September, CDC and FDA officials said. The officials spoke Thursday about the US government’s preparations for the fall and winter respiratory virus season on the condition that they not be named.
######################################
Officials said ACIP will meet quickly after the FDA decision in order to expedite the regulatory steps and get the vaccines to market. The advisory group is scheduled to meet to discuss Covid-19 vaccines on September 12, meaning the vaccines could become available soon after.

I love when the seasons change when summer lean into fall, fall slide into winter, and spring bring in the summer. What a beautiful world.

The FDA recommended an additional bivalent booster for:
People age 65 or older who have received one bivalent dose, as long as it is 4 months after that initial shot
Most unvaccinated people, who may now receive a single dose of the bivalent vaccine, rather than multiple doses of the original monovalent mRNA vaccines
Most people who have received a monovalent shot
People who are immunocompromised and have received one bivalent shot. Another booster can be given 2 months later, and more doses may be given at the discretion of, and at times determined by, their health care provider. For immunocompromised people ages 6 months to 4 years, eligibility will depend on the vaccine they got before.
Children 6 months through 5 years of age who have been vaccinated, but the number of boosters they receive depends on previous vaccines given
The FDA said that unvaccinated children 6 months to 5 years of age can receive a two-dose series of the Moderna bivalent vaccine; or they can get a three-dose series of the Pfizer-BioNTech bivalent vaccine (through age 4). Unvaccinated children who are 5 years old can get two Moderna bivalent boosters or a single Pfizer booster.

In his speech at the 75th World Health Assembly, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), stresses that “the COVID-19 pandemic has turned our world upside down. Our world has endured great suffering – and endures it still…But we can end it. We have the knowledge. We have the tools. Science has given us the upper hand.” He also states that “we see vaccine hesitancy driven by misinformation and disinformation.”
Read a factsheet by the New York State Department of Health to help you find ways how you can fight against the dispersion of misinformation about the Covid-19 vaccines!
