Despite Puella Magi Madoka Magica having been out since 2011. Despite a chunk of the fandom being like hey. That looks like witch despair from Madoka. AND THEN THE SHOW PROVED IT WAS DESPAIR WITH STEVEN CORRUPTING HIMSELF....

Jasper corrupted out of despair. The corruption scars are colored like Malachite more than Ocean Jasper. And in the scene where she corrupts, it gets worse every time she gets extra upset and slows when she's calmer. Do your homework and watch Madoka or at least take cues from the show literally showing someone corrupting out of despair

Oops was drawing angst while away on vacation oh well I finally decided what was under that hair! Total headcanon that Steeb has a huge mark on his back from the whole ordeal. I bet it looks like a crystal geode. Onyx is super self-conscious about keeping sure it is hidden, but at times they can be caught picking at it when stressed out.
