I wonder what happened right after Cordelia's sorceress ball incident

I wonder if Cedric ran away, or if his parents ushered him away from the crowd

Did Cedric even notice part of his hair turned white from the spell, or did he only find out much later

Maybe he went to sleep early that night, feeling guilty and confused and not understanding why that happened

Maybe he even reassured himself, telling himself that he would apologize to Cordelia in the morning, and maybe he planned what he would do to make it up to her

Maybe he told himself that it was not the end of the world, that it was his sister and surely she would understand, surely she would believe him

And maybe he even thought about how people would let it go eventually and things would go back to normal

And then he waited weeks, months, years for things to turn back to normal

And maybe he was fine with Cordelia not believing him, if it meant she forgave him, or if she never forgave him, if it meant she believed in him

I wonder if he tried to help finding a counter spell, and if he wasn't allowed to, if he tried it on his own anyways

I wonder if Cordelia's resentment towards him started there, or if it took years to develop

I wonder if she believed in Cedric at first, that it wasn't his fault, and then changed her mind later, or if she always thought he ruined her special day

I wonder if she felt betrayed by him

I wonder if they ever got to hang out again as siblings throughout the years, or if it took Calista to be born so that they could be in peaceful terms again (to an extent)

I wonder if Cordelia looks at Cedric now and thinks about how much time they've lost

And I wonder how she feels, knowing he so easily forgave her for years of persecution and humiliation, and knowing that she could've also forgave him just as easily for something that was nothing more than an accident, and also her own fault.

Did I miss something or was it never explained why Cedric became the royal sorcerer and not Cordelia?

Cordelia is Cedric's older sister. If the royal sorcerer lineage runs anything like that of the royal family, why was Cedric--the younger sibling--made the royal sorcerer of Enchancia and not Cordelia?

On top of that, even if it does go that the boys are the next in line, Cedric was still known for being a "bungler", so why wasn't something done to prevent him from becoming part of the royal staff?

Cedric is literally the best, but Cordelia--with the knowledge the kingdom had before 'Through the Looking-Back Glass'--would have been a much better candidate for being the royal sorcerer.

Please tell me if I missed something, I honestly may have. I'm just really curious if it was ever explained.

First Steps

Calista's first steps are taken

Calista looked up from her toys Unca Ceddy made appear out of nowhere, getting the urge to be held. She needed human contact this instant, and there was only one person she wanted it from. 

Falling forward onto her knees, Calista quickly made her way to the big box looking thing Unca Ceddy spent so much time at. But Unca Ceddy moved away from her just as she got there! A whine left her throat as she grabbed for Unca Ceddy's dress, her tiny fingers just missing it as he moved away from her. 

Brows scrunched in frustration, Calista decided a different approach. Mummy had been showing her how to walk on her feet instead of crawl, so maybe doing that would let her catch up to Unca Ceddy before he could move again!

She wobbled her way onto her feet. She's never done this without Mummy holding her hands to keep her upright, but if she gets cuddles from Unca Ceddy, then it's worth it!

Unca Ceddy stood by one of the walls with holes in them for holding books. This was her chance!

Calista moved one foot forward and almost fell, but managed to catch herself in time. She would not give up on her quest! She moved her other foot forward, like Mummy showed her. One foot in front of the other. 

To Calista's delight, she was actually making her way to Unca Ceddy! It was different than crawling, but not a bad different. She kept her eyes on Unca Ceddy, who still hadn't moved from his spot in front of the book filled walls, but she thinks she went too fast, as she stumbled and almost fell forward. But like before, she picked herself up again and continued on her way for cuddles, giggling in delight at herself. 

She heard someone gasp, probably Mummy, but Calista was too focused on the fact that she was so close! Unca Ceddy was right there! Just a few more steps. 

Unca Ceddy looked down at her just as she reached him, giggling as she grabbed onto his dress with one hand to keep him from getting away from her again, and reaching up at him with her other. 

Unca Ceddy stared at her, then looked at something or someone else, then back at her. Calista pouted and whined at not being picked up. She did all of that and she didn't even get the cuddles from Unca Ceddy that she wanted!

"Did you just take your first steps?"

Those words and the words said by Mummy meant nothing to Calista. She just wanted to be held! Letting go of Unca Ceddy's dress, she raises both hands up, making grabby hands at her favorite Unca, whining again. 

Unca Ceddy finally reached down to pick her up, Calista giggling in glee at the success of her quest as Unca Ceddy lifted her above him.

"You just took your first steps!" Unca Ceddy smiled at her and Calista made a grab for his long nose, laughing when Unca Ceddy scrunched his nose, making a funny face. 

Mummy came over to take Calista out of Unca Cedric's arms, and the moment Unca Ceddy wasn't holding her anymore, Calista started to pout again, holding her arms out for Unca Ceddy and whining, not paying attention to the words coming out of Mummy's mouth. 

"How does my own daughter prefer her uncle to her mother?" Mummy asked as she handed Calista back over to Unca Ceddy, much to Calista's delight. 

She didn't mean to make Mummy feel unloved. She just wanted cuddles from Unca Ceddy, that's all. 

Unca Ceddy held Calista close, and Calista nestled herself in her favorite spot; a spot on his neck under his head, where she could hear something beat rhythmically if she pressed her head hard enough. 

She was sleepy. Unca Ceddy was warm. Her want to be held has been satisfied, for now. A nap sounded nice.

So a nap she took.

My Sofia the First AU so far

Outside of OC lore, nothing much has changed.

Sofia doesn't consider Roland to be her dad. She pretends that she does and calls him 'Dad' to keep the peace but she doesn't actually consider him as such. She slowly comes to detest him as the years progress. She also refuses to think of him as "Dad" in private, and struggles to even say the word in reference to him when talking to the few who know her true feelings.

Cedric, the animals, Cordelia and Calista are the only ones aware of Sofia's true feelings about Roland.

She considers Cedric to be her dad, and Cedric considers her his daughter. Cordelia and Calista are like an aunt and cousin to her.

Lenore (OC) exists and sometimes shows up as a reoccuring character to cause shenanigans. She and Cedric have a frenemies/enemies to lovers dynamic.
