Standaarduitdrukkingen voor het behoud van het meest waardevolle en mooiste dat door de mens kan worden vervaardigd. De kunst. Diezelfde uitdrukkingen worden gebruikt om strategieën van bemiddeling en actie in een conflict tussen twee partijen te bepalen, voor een onopgelost probleem of voor de manipulatie van ontvlambare materialen of potentieel explosieve objecten. Juanan Soria (1985, ES) neemt ons mee in zijn nieuwe solo tentoonstelling bij Cecilia Jaime Gallery op een visuele reis door verschillende sequenties van een video-animatie die zich afspeelt tussen twee antipoden: het extreme behoud van het kunstwerk aan de ene kant en de vernietiging ervan aan de andere, met als leidraad de breekbaarheid. Een tocht waarbij de manoeuvreerruimte zo beperkt, smal en uitdagend is, zoals twee porseleinen tollen op het touw van de koorddanser. Antoniemen worden synoniem en komen altijd samen. Je kunt de ene niet begrijpen zonder de andere. Een heen-en-weerspel met als enige regel: Fragile. Handle with care. SPA/Tratad con delicadeza. No tocar. Frases hechas asociadas a la conservación de lo más valioso y bello que puede manufacturar el ser humano. El arte. De igual manera estas frases se utilizan para marcar estrategias de mediación y actuación en un conflicto entre dos partes o para la manipulación de materiales inflamables o explosivos. Juanan Soria (1985, ES) nos plantea en su nueva exposición individual en Cecilia Jaime Gallery un recorrido visual por diferentes secuencias de una video animación pictórica que discurre entre dos posiciones antagónicas: La conservación extrema de la obra de arte a un lado y la destrucción de ésta al otro, teniendo la fragilidad como hilo conductor. Un recorrido donde el espacio de maniobra es tan limitado, estrecho y antojoso, como dos peonzas de porcelana sobre el hilo de un equilibrista, donde los antónimos se hacen sinónimos y siempre acaban encontrándose. No se puede entender uno sin tener en consideración al otro. Un juego de ida y vuelta con la única regla: Fragile. Handle with care. ENG/Handle with care. Don’t touch. They are expressions associated with the conservation of the most valuable and beautiful thing that can be manufactured by human beings. The art. The same expressions are used to determine strategies of mediation in a conflict between two parts, for an unresolved problem or for the manipulation of flammable materials or potentially explosive objects. Juanan Soria (1985, ES) makes in his new solo exhibition at the Cecilia Jaime Gallery a visual itinerary through different sequences of a video-animation that takes place between two antipodes: The extreme conservation of the artwork on one side and the destruction on the other with a storyline: the fragility. A route where the maneuvering space is so limited, narrow and appetizing, like two porcelain tops on the thread of a tightrope walker, where antonyms become synonymous and always come together.
