you know what I’m gonna do it. fuck it. gender, sexuality, neurodivergence– headcanons of the brothers reacting when you come out to them about something they’re unfamiliar with:

Lucifer: Going to accept it with a nod and a polite smile, than ask you to clarify what you mean. Obviously it’s important to you, and he’ll want to know any accommodations he has to make to help you be comfortable– whether that’s a change in his behavior or some class schedule adjustments or supplies you’ve been lacking. He doesn’t realize until after you leave that he’s absolutely giddy that you felt that he was close enough to you that you’d share such a personal part of your identity.

Mammon: At first he’s going to pretend he knows what you’re talking about– partially for the sake of his own pride, but mostly because he wants you to know that he loves you for you and that he’s your first man no matter what. It’s not long before he fumbles to the point where he can’t bullshit anymore and he doesn’t know what you need and he’ll force himself to ask clarifying questions. He’ll make it up to you with gifts– fun (like pride merch), functional (binder, stim toys), anything you mention might make you more comfortable.

Leviathan: The one that’s most openly confused. “Huh? What’s that?” As you explain it to him he’s going to start comparing it to fictional characters he’s familiar with, it’s a good reference point for him. He’s gonna be completely open to correction, though, should he misunderstand you! You’re the expert here and he respects that. Once he does grasp it, every now and again he’s gonna come to you with “I found a character that reminds me of you!” or “This character was like this all along! I bet that’s why I liked them, cause they’re like you.”

Satan: He talks to a lot of people and he reads a lot of books, so when you come to him with something new for him to learn about, you’ve got him hooked. He’s gonna ask a bunch of questions, he’s excited! As soon as you start to look uncomfortable he’s gonna back off– his biggest concern is that he controls himself so that he treats you right. If you point him to resources for him to read, though, he’s gonna, like– you know that bit in the Animaniacs reboot where Yakko eats a whole ipad to absorb all the knowledge of the internet? That.

Asmodeus: This bitch loves to talk so expect the most questions out of him. It’s gonna be more of a conversation than it is him listening with rapt attention, but don’t think that means he’s not listening to you! He’s engaging with you, immersing himself in learning this part of you. Part of that is gonna be him getting you to reinforce your boundaries; intimacy is where the two of you meet, love, and he wants to know exactly how to tell you that he love you!

Beelzebub: Immediate supportive reaction. “Oh cool! Thank you for telling me.... What is that again?” His focus is more on, like, keeping you healthy, so he’s gonna be asking what makes you uncomfortable yes but mostly what helps you. What can he do to make your day a little easier? He’s there for support, validating your identity and helping you when shit gets hard. Only thing that’s gonna get tricky is if you have sensory issues around mouth sounds and eating, but he’s also a jock so, like, he doesn’t mind challenge.

Belphegor: Has a kneejerk fear reaction that you’re telling him this because he’s been making you uncomfortable without realizing it. He’s really grateful for how out of touch he is with facial expressions atm because he doesn’t want you to think there’s anything wrong with you. But yeah his first questions are gonna be about boundaries– has he been teasing you about something that actually hurt? He’ll stop! Is he getting too physical? Is this a bad sensory thing? After he’s sure that you’re sure that you can tell him when you’re uncomfortable, he’ll relax again. He doesn’t take it any different than learning anything else about you, really; he’s used to playing catch-up cause of his attic-related delay in getting to know you. He’ll pick it up quicker than you’d think.
