Black & white TV was just beginning to become popular when CBS put a model of a color television on public view opposite the 42nd St. Library, November 13, 1950. The contraption was a b&w set with an external adapter and a color converter added to it.

I’m fascinated by older science fiction media and how they predicted (or failed to predict) future technologies. Frequently, their “futures” fail to predict changes that exist now. Which got me thinking, films were in color before televisions so it seems like there should be science fiction films that showed color televisions before color televisions existed. Can anyone think of an example of this?

"Oil Land", an episode of the western television series The Cisco Kid (1950-1956)... the notability of this series is largely in the fact that it was broadcast in color, very rare at the time, though of course, color television sets were not that common, so many saw it in black and white.
