The US Army-issued Model of 1918 trench knife. It's essentially a set of brass knuckles with a full tang blade thru them & whose pointed butt was intended as an impact device (i.e., "the nut-cracker knob"). It has a seven inch UNSHARPENED pointed dagger blade. According to the edged weapons websites it was issued w the blade unsharpened & was intended as a stabbing, punching, & high impact melee/CQC weapon and not as a cutting or knife fighting tool or weapon & not intended to ever have a sharped blade, just as with rifle bayonets.

What is CQB
What is CQB
Close quarters combat (CQC) or close-quarters battle (CQB) is a very tactical situation involving a physical fight with firearms involved between multiple combatants at quite short range.
In warfare, it usually consists of groups of people who engage in conflict, often armed with personal weapons or improvised weapons, within a distance of up to a hundred meters (110 yards). Close-quarter CQB target negotiation with usually automatic weapons is the norm.
A typical close combat scenario occurs when an attacker tries to take over a vehicle or structure controlled by the defender, who usually has no easy method to withdraw. Because the attackers can often be mixed with civilians, hostages, and friendly forces, close quarters battle demands a quick, violent attack and a precise execution of lethal force.
Police departments and other government agencies need agents who are trained to use their weapons, and who can make fast, accurate decisions about whether or not to shoot. Criminals sometimes use close-quarter CQB tactics, such as in an armed robbery or jailbreak, but most of the terminology comes from training used to prepare military personnel, police officers, and other types of government agency.
For this reason, a large number of books relating to close quarters combat CQB are written from the viewpoint of authorities who must break into a stronghold where the opposing force has barricaded itself.
Commando operations are typical of urban warfare. Close-quarters combat CQB, as well as hostage rescue, are not synonymous with urban warfare. The military calls this urban warfare FIBUA (Fighting In a Built-Up Area) and FISH (Fighting In Someone’s House).
Urban warfare is a much bigger field than the urban jungle and includes logistics and the role of crew-served weapons, such as heavy machine guns, mortars, and mounted grenade launchers, along with artillery, armor, and air support.
Close-quarters battle is a form of warfare where infantry units use small compact weapons to attack each other. This includes carbines, submachine guns, shotguns, pistols, knives, and bayonets.
Close-quarters combat CQB is a tactical concept that forms a part of the strategic concept of urban warfare, but not every instance of close-quarters combat is necessarily urban warfare.

New Kitchen Toy...
A small pestle and mortar for crushing herbs and spices.
However small is one thing (it can be cradled in the palm of one hand) but light is something else. Look at this:
More than 1.6 kg of half of cold cast iron.
That’s more than three-and-a half pounds in old money.
Most of the weight is in the pestle.
No worries about the Fae around here... :->

Yeah...it's getting kind of irritating to see that certain (not all obvs jeez the fact I have to point that out) fantasy rpgs or fantasy games with rpg elements tie in the class/main profession of a character to their race and like...even as a springboard concept it's kind of boring and annoying.
I'm sure the most basic solution to this would be to do something like FONV, but I also know that isn't the only game that has done this concept.
I just generally feel there should be more high fantasy games that separate class stats from the race it's tied to.
More nuance is needed but yeah...springboard thought.

So I personally think that Nick got the facial injury that cracked up the side of his head from a Super Mutant. Specifically, a super sledge, direct to the head.
It absolutely messed him up for a long time-- probably a few days in and out of consciousness, then at least a week of processing issues. Most likely he had to get to the Railroad for help on repairs.
Perhaps that incident is a source of some of his memory issues. At the very least its a source of him getting detritus in his open neck holes....

The farm is out back of the manor, they live in the middle of a field. So they have acres and acres of land. The local carpacian school children come to the fence, demanding to pet the cows and horses.
