Robin: I had an idea at dinner-.. stand there.
Clementine: I’ve never been good in front of a camera…
Robin: It’s just an experiment.
Clementine: Oh?
Robin: You’d think there’d be more proof of ghosts existing if people could take pictures of ‘em, right?
Clementine: Then perhaps we already know the outcome of this experiment?
[Robin hummed, staring at the screen of his camera with a mixture of resignation and disappointment]
Clementine: Well?
Robin: You’re not there.
Clementine: You don’t sound too surprised.
Robin: I s’pose I’m not-.. do you even exist, Clem?
Clementine: Ohh, that’s a loaded question, isn’t it?
[Robin threw himself onto the couch, letting out a sigh far too wearisome for someone his age]
Robin: No one else can see or hear you, and you’re technically not tangibly here either… What if you’re just in my head? What if there’s something like, majorly wrong with me?
Clementine: I think you’re just special, darlin’.
Robin: Weird, you mean.
[Robin flexed his fingers against his chest, wondering what on earth had made him so different from everyone else]
Robin: Did I tell you I made a friend on holiday?
Clementine: How lovely!
Robin: I guess-.. ‘cept I couldn’t even talk to her.
Clementine: Oh.
Robin: I always thought it was a choice n’ stuff-.. I’m starting to think I might just be broken though, like someone didn’t put me together right, or forgot to turn off creative mode before saving my character.
[Robin’s comparison to a video game went straight over Clementine’s head, but it seemed more like he was thinking aloud than expecting a reply, so she didn’t interrupt him]
Robin: I bet Alex would believe me-.. I got the feeling she was different too, maybe…
Clementine: What makes you think that?
Robin: I don’t know, vibes-.. wishful thinking?
[Robin could have gone on, but someone had finally discovered that he wasn’t in bed…]
Oscar: It’s way past midnight, what’re you doing up here?
[Robin shrugged despondently; talking to himself, imaginary friends, ghosts? Each excuse more insane than the last]
Oscar: C’mon, we’re not on holiday anymore…
…
Oscar: It’s only been a few days bud-.. she’ll write soon enough.
Robin: How’d you know what I was thinking?
Oscar: I’m a super good guesser.
[Robin would’ve liked to believe that his father possessed the same abilities as him, but he’d be much more perturbed by his son’s presence if that were the case. He closed his eyes with a morose sigh, deciding that sleep was about the best escape he could hope for]

i was working on a novel outline while exercising (jumping on trampoline if you must know, quality knee work A+) and i started thinking about some article i read today about personality types that like secrets and i thought
lavender likes secrets
and then it turned into a horrible snowball nobody, by which I mean me, ever wanted, and i actually stopped what i was doing, became stationary, and CLEARLY THOUGHT:
lavender elthina hewke, cull3n stanton rutherfard, clementine ???? trevelyonder get out of my head
GET OUT
OUTTTT
AND STAY OUTTTT
it became some sort of ridiculous dr seuss thing
there is not enough room. you cannot be here! you must go out! you cannot be here when original work is about! i cannot focus on two things at once and so you must go--out, out, into the snow!
what must i do to rid myself of this horrible curse, this plague upon my brain grapes

› :・゚ ⧼ ESTER EXPOSITO. CIS FEMALE. SHE/HER. // MARISSA MONTESINOS is a TWENTY ONE year old POLITICAL SCIENCE student at charleston univeristy. walking past their room last night i heard LOVEFOOL - THE CARDIGANS on full blast, makes sense considering they’re known as the VIXEN. SHE can be best described as +AUDACIOUS & -IRASCIBLE. they remind me of the lingering smell of perfume after she’s long gone, the burning of whiskey going down your throat, drunk texting your ex. [ peaches. 22. brt. she/her. ]
hello my dudes !! your girl is late as usual but she’s here and ready to plot with all of you and love all of you as well bc we ?? stan ?? love !! under the cut there’s info on my child marissa and yeah, enjoy <3
STATS
FULL NAME: marissa angelica montesinos.
NICKNAMES: mari, riss.
MAJOR: political science
DATE OF BIRTH / AGE: december 4th / twenty one.
HOMETOWN: madrid, spain / toronto, canada
GENDER IDENTITY: cis female.
PRONOUNS: she/her.
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: heterosexual.
MBTI: enfj — the protagonist.
OCCUPATION: full-time student at charleston university ( 3rd year )
PINTEREST BOARD: a very bad one
BACKSTORY
the Montesinos family is a name of power and influence in Spain. Marissa is the daughter of Juan, a politician, and Miranda, a CEO... so it's safe to say that they put a lot of pressure on their only daughter to succeed.
but marissa was nothing but a disappointment ever since she reached high school. parties, booze, drugs and meaningless sex were a part of her daily routine; that also meant that she was in the headlines a lot... because who doesn't want a scandal about the politician's daughter ??
her parents, not wanting any more scandals, shipped her off to Toronto when she turned 17. some people would guess that she would keep up her act, but being isolated from her family made her try to be better... which she did... and ended up in one of Canada's Ivy League.
choosing her major was quite easy. to quote gina linetti, she has great hair and loves lying... she was born for politics.
although trying to keep out of trouble... she has gone to every party since her first year. you didn't invite her ?? oh well, she'll be there. because is not a party if she's not there.
she really thought she could become what her parents dreamed
though my girl spiraled back to her old party self when she broke up with ex #1. she's trying to control herself because she doesn't want to worry anyone, acting all cool and chill, but she's not and you can see that bc she smokes two packs of cigars a day and is always on red bull.
if you watch euphoria, you know that scene that rue says she is a fucking genius when she’s trying to figure out the shit that went down between nate and jules ??? well, that’s marissa at 3 am when she’s trying to figure out who is the murderer after 7 cans of red bull.
PERSONALITY
she doesn't discriminate, she talks to everyone. but she's that type of person that will talk shit behind your back... and call you out on your shit.
she is cool and collected most of the times with a witty sense of humor like any lady should be, but when she is mad ???? a fucking volcano and takes hours for her to cool down. she will absolutely throw hands if anyone tries to fuck with her loved ones. and yet, she’s still a complete girly girl through and through. i guess she’s passioned ??
afraid of failure ?? hell yes. will she go to a party before exam weeks starts when she didn't even touch a book ?? hell fucking yes.
have you watched how i met your mother ?? you know how barney always accepts a challenge ?? marissa is the same. no matter how difficult or if it’s breaking a law, she’ll do it. especially if she’s drunk/high/whatever.
WANTED CONNECTIONS
roommate: marissa is most likely a pain in the ass for them, her side of the room is messy and she is always postponing to clean it. not to mention you never know if she will show up or not in their dorm at night. but other than that, marissa holds them in a close friends status and is ready to fight a bitch if they cross her roommate. taken by clementine dunaway
ex #1: opposites attract kind of situation, people always wondered how they even got together in the first place but they seemed to work very well together. marissa thought they would go to the distance, it was the first guy she thought about building a family with and all those childlike dreams. lingering feelings and how/why they broke up to be discussed ?? taken by theo stanton
ex #2: started as a rebound from ex #1 for her, but the relationship blossomed and they were quite happy for a while. she had feelings for them but wasn't as intense and so she decided to break up with them to not lead them on. if they broke up in good or bad terms to be discussed ?? if it's good terms, maybe they became friends or friends with benefits ?? if it's bad terms... well, she thinks she was on the right to break up with them so she just pictures them as a petty ass bitch and is a little shit to them.
girl squad: what is a girl without her trusted girl squad ?? marissa is a ride or die, so if you are on her squad she'll go to the depths of hell for you with no questions asked.
sibling like relationship: self explanatory ?? probably someone to keep her from doing bad, crazy shit all the time. teasing each other endlessly but there’s nothing one wouldn’t do for the other.
mulder & scully: SOMEONE TO BE HER PARTNER ON CONSPIRACIES THEORIES. she might act like a cool girl, but she has a vast knowledge of conspiracies and will not shut up if you get her started. taken by laurena rojas
study buddies: doesn't need to be from the same major as her, it's just someone that can be authoritative enough to make marissa go to the library and get a book, instead of thinking she's thanos after getting A's or B's without studying.
random hookups: self-explanatory as well ?? she still hits you on that nokia 3210 late night when she needs your love. or someone to drink with.
anything else please.... we can brainstorm ???

She knew-.. Robin was sure of it.
Despite her warmth, he’d always been slightly unnerved by aunt Alma’s presence; there was something odd about her that he couldn’t quite put his finger on. Some people were harder to read than others, like Alex, but it was still possible.
Alma’s mind was like an impenetrable vault in comparison. Any attempts to feel or hear anything she did were met with a metaphorical brick wall, leaving him reeling as though he’d collided with it head first-.. but not tonight. Tonight, Alma was like an open book, and Robin was convinced she was doing it on purpose.
She’d told him all about her struggles as a child; how she didn’t fit in, how people teased her for being too sensitive, how hard it was to figure out who she was amongst the clamour of everyone else’s inner most image of themselves-.. all the while allowing him unlimited access to those very memories, like a handpicked blooper reel, just for him. Of course, that wasn’t the case though.. was it?
Alma had stopped talking now, but Robin still wasn’t sure how to react. He sat in silence instead, staring at nothing in particular for far longer than what could be considered normal.
“Can you hear me?” he thought, deciding to try a little experiment.
Nothing. Okay, so she couldn’t read his mind-.. then what the heck was she getting at? How had she so succinctly summed up his entire existence in less than fifteen minutes?
“I would’ve liked somewhere as quiet as this when I was young, it’s a shame we didn’t have an attic…” Alma offered, clearly trying to relate to Robin’s situation in any way she could. He still wasn’t entirely sure why, but she clearly wanted to help, and Robin didn’t know anyone else who understood him as well as she did, so perhaps he ought to let her try. He finally abandoned his switch and cautiously joined her atop his favourite, motheaten couch.
“What’re you getting at?” he said bluntly, curiosity getting the better of his manners.
Alma chuckled softly, “You’re just like your father.”
“It’s genetics, apparently…” Robin let loose a brief grin, glad to be compared to Oscar.
“I don’t know how exactly, but you’re different, Robin-.. and I thought it high time you knew you weren’t alone, and that we can’t let these things get the best of us.” Alma smiled softly as she spoke, but Robin was still too wary to be completely transparent.
“We?” he asked, dubiously.
“We’re few and far between, but you’re certainly not the only one who’s a little.. special, shall we say? That’s better than different, maybe?” Alma suggested.
Robin hummed thoughtfully, shaking his head, “Special is just another word for different, or weird.”
Alma scoffed playfully, “And what’s wrong with being weird? I’m weird-.. we’re all a bit weird!”
“How’re you weird?” Robin asked, squinting at Alma accusingly.
“Well, I can sense things I certainly shouldn’t be able to.” Alma started, excited to be getting somewhere. “Emotions radiate from people like a space heater-.. they’re not always pleasant, of course, but I can soak them up if I want to.”
Robin blinked, “Only if you want to..?”
“Uh-huh.” Alma nodded.
“You can block it out?!” Robin spluttered, suddenly and completely forgetting to maintain his ignorance before swiftly correcting himself. “I mean-.. it sounds like you can pick and choose, right?”
Alma nodded once more, “It wasn’t easy, but I spent a lot of years practicing.”
“Years?” Robin sounded crestfallen.
“I didn’t have a mentor…” Alma winked.
Robin allowed himself to smirk, figuring he might as well drop at least part of the act at this point. He was still a little nervous about being approached about such things so brazenly, but at least he knew why Alma perturbed him so much now, she was blocking him out on purpose-.. and she couldn’t read his mind either, which was always a plus.
The last thing he wanted was for anyone to know that he possessed that particular ability. Who’d want to hang out with someone who could access their inner most thoughts, the one’s they’d never dream of saying out loud? He shuddered involuntarily, hoping he’d never meet anyone that could read his.
Clementine finally nudged Robin, dragging him back to the present with her ghostly touch. “She looked right at me just then-.. she smiled! Did you see?”
Robin spun around, realising that Alma had almost begun her descent. He must’ve missed her goodbye.
“Wait!”
Alma paused expectantly, causing Robin to second guess himself and retreat into silence.
“I won’t be far, sweetheart-.. whenever you’re ready.”
Robin shivered as Clementine poked him again, “She can definitely see me…”
“Can you, uh-…”
“See the ghost poking you?” Alma giggled, sounding far younger than she was.
The vault doors had snapped shut again by now, but Robin got the impression that aunt Alma was just as excited as he was to find someone else who was weird. “Can you hear her?”
“Maybe-.. though I’m quite sure she hasn’t said anything yet.” Alma peered at Clementine expectantly.
“Hey!” Clementine exclaimed as Robin tried to shove her into action, his hand ending up halfway through her waist instead.
“What? It’s not like you can feel it.” Robin snorted.
Alma laughed heartily, thoroughly amused. “Well, I heard that-.. you two are good friends, huh?”
Robin nodded slightly, releasing a breath he hadn’t realised he was holding. “I thought I was the only one who could see her-.. that maybe I was going insane…”
“Far from it, honey! You hit me up whenever you feel like it, okay?”

Images of Chatham County Wills and Estates
Chatham County was established in 1771 from Orange County, having been named for William Pitt in 1759, the first Earl of Chatham. It was Pitt who served as the British Prime Minister from 1766 to 1768 and opposed harsh colonial policies. The earliest known settlers were Quakers from England who settled along the Haw and Eno rivers. In 1907, parts of Chatham County and Moore County were combined to form Lee County. The county seat is in Pittsboro, North Carolina and Chatham County is part of the Durham-Chapel Hill area.Among the first settlers were the families of Armistead, Alston, Dodd, Kemp, Edwards, Womack, Brewer, Lambeth, Taylor, Fooshee, Waddell, and Patrick.Chatham County Probate Records available to members of North Carolina Pioneers Images of Wills and Estates 1798 to 1819 Alston, James to Phillip Barbara Lawlor, Nederland. It may not seem like much of a journey, moving on from eighth grade to ninth grade, but it can seem like a formidable challenge. After all, it is the same building and one advances with one’s peers.

But. There are new teachers and older kids. After finally reaching the top as fifth graders and then again as eighth graders, the freshman will suddenly be at the bottom again, struggling to achieve their goals. It is an intimidating prospect, but the 2017 class of eight graders have proven they are up to the task. They are a creative, spunky bunch of Panthers who are athletic, smart and talented; they are funny and energetic and filled with optimism.
This class of 44 students was honored last Friday in the Eighth Grade Continuation celebration at the high school.
Beginning with the eighth grade orchestra’s performance of “Let it Go,” the prelude was followed by the processional, “Pomp and Circumstance,” which brought the eighth graders, fizzing with excitement, bouncing down the aisles to take their seats.
The eighth grade choir then sang the National Anthem.
Nederland Middle Senior High School counselor Kristin Wagner and principal Carrie Yantzer welcomed the parents and families. Yantzer told the eighth graders that “everyone matters every time.” She told the teens to build on their strengths and talents. She said the Class of 2017 reminded her of fireworks and they should ignite the night and shine.
The Presidential Awards for Academics were then presented to Blue and Gold Club achievers. The Blue Club was for students with a 3.3-3.7 grade point average for the first semester and the Gold Club was for students with a 3.8-4.0 gpa.
Blue Club: Aspen Abel, Jessi Duncan, Carmela Hessner, Clay Kress, Sydney Nation, Parker Newby, Kodiak Palmer, and Madeline Prince.
Gold Club: Maya Beauvineau, Alexandra Berumen-Gonzalez, Jacob DeLong, Meagan Figgins, Courtney Horton, Rylee Kutscher, Abigail Lanthier, Sydney Mayhew, Clementine Miller, Elysia Nitsch, Isabella Sink and Katelyn Stanton.
Class speakers were Maya Beauvineau, Abigail Lanthier and Sydney Mayhew.
Sydney told her classmates that this was an opportunity to do their best and that mountain schools were special. “Where else do you have a snow day on the last day of school?”
Sydney Mayhew said, “It is time to try to figure out who you are and who you want to be. We have to think about starting over and building a bond between us and the teachers. We will look back on this and cringe, and then we will smile.”
Abigail Lanthier told her classmates that in seventh grade they were like the middle child of the middle school. “This is the class that loves a lively conversation. We have many lessons in life. I hope for all the teachers who are leaving that you will find joy.”
The eighth graders then received diplomas and settled in to watch the slide show of their last three years in Nederland Middle School.
