Why I like them

She’s an overall sweet person with a heart of gold.

Why I don’t

- She was a bit too judgy at times, for example in season 14 about Jenna’s pregnancy. Plus, this relates to the writers and the story line more than her, but I wish she had more plots outside of her relationships. Other than that, I don’t see anything bad about her.

Favorite episode (scene if movie)

- Waterfalls (parts 1 & 2). I really like Give Me One Reason too, though.

Favorite season/movie

- Season 12.

- Either “Hey Jenna, your buttcrack’s showing” or  “Just make sure you stock up on condoms, Jake. This one is fertile!” Lol, Clare was so petty! And these two moments are classic Degrassi.

My first week in the army is over, and while it is possible that we could be recalled to base early if there is a major offensive (not that we will be sent to the front lines but it’s possible that we will be recalled to help with preparations like packing rations), I expect to have a long weekend. I’m sorry that I haven’t written since the end of day one but I don’t get a lot of time on my telephone and I’m not exactly supposed to stay up late just to blog about my army experience. I already break that rule in order to study.

The first week was rough, and while things seem to be improving (my new commanders are so much better and I love my new Tzevet) I’m concerned that I won’t be able to get a permanent ptor before my temporary one expires. I’m not in pain but I’m not going to let the army fuck up my feet with those shitty boots that don’t fit me. In order to get the permanent ptor I need to see an orthopedist (which seems like overkill for bunions that I’ve had since I was literally 5 years old). The problem is my temporary ptor only lasts for seven days and the next available appointment is not until mid-June and I have to travel pretty far to get there. I’m hoping that my commander is able to get me an appointment sooner. I’m actually shocked that I managed to get the ptor I currently have because they told me I wouldn’t be able to see the doctor before Sunday but I saw him on Thursday.

The army medical system is a mess. You are supposed guaranteed treatment within 24 hours but I waited at least 36 to even see the Chopelet (Choveshet Plugati, Company Medic). I asked to see a doctor over the shoe issues before I even left the Bakum and it took me throwing my boot across the courtyard and carving it up with my Leatherman in order to be taken seriously. I saw the Chopelet on Wednesday and she got me an appointment with the doctor on base. I asked her why she became a medic and she told me two of her uncles are doctors and she wants to become one also. It seems like most people who want to become doctors (that I’ve spoken to) wants to become an or already are Chovesh/et. From what I’ve seen so far, I definitely think being a Choveshet Kravi is a better fit for me than a Choveshet Clalli. The doctor didn’t really speak English but luckily I have decent enough Hebrew and medical latin that I was able to get by. It’s kind of crazy how much time the army wastes on bureaucracy in order to get healthcare.

My first commanders were terrible but the girls in my Tzevet were great (even though I had to speak to most of them in Hebrew since almost all of them didn’t speak English). After the Hebrew test we all got assigned to our tzevetim for the rest of the course based on our Hebrew level. I probably should be in a higher group but I couldn’t pay attention towards the end of the test so I didn’t finish. I’m okay with it though because I really like my new Tzevet and our commanders (we have one male commander and a female commander, my Tzevet is all girls) seem pretty nice. We don’t know the male commander that well but he doesn’t seem to bad. The female commander however is so nice and not exactly the best commander because she can’t keep up the serious facade up for very long. It’s nice though that my commander behaves like a normal human.

I have some other news but I want to share that with certain people in person first.

I will write more later but I have a lot to do this weekend.
