City board of works trucks carried huge piles of scrap wood and cardboard to 11 different Civilian Defence districts and actual fires mush- roomed in the most unexpected places. On the left above a C.D.C. volunteer is seen manning a stirrup pump on a blaze a few feet from the corner of Ouellette and Erie, one of the busiest intersections of the city. On the right above, 14-year-old John Maisonneuve, of 1135 Louis, gets swift and efficient attention from first aid workers for dangerous arm "wounds" suffered when he got in the way of a few "bomb" splinters. C.D.C. workers were everywhere. The city-wide test proved very satisfactory.

Trolberg's First Responders: Fire and Rescue- Fire Engine.

Since the Fandom is divided between Trolberg Fire Service and Trolberg Civil Defence I made both in the drawings.

The Fire Engines are based on the Fire engines used worldwide to respond to fire and rescue incidents, the two fire engines are used to respond to incidents within the city of Trolberg. Mainly, fire and rescue incidents where they are equipped with the equipment that you can find on a Fire Engine.

Rescue

The ladders stored on the Fire Engines are designed to reach most of the Buildings In Trolberg. However, a Ladder Truck is called in if greater reach is needed especially for belltowers and incidents in the centre of Trolberg.

The fire engines are equipped with extrication devices such as airbags, rescue saws, and the Jaws of Life for vehicular accidents.

Breaking tools such as rescue saws, and bolt cutters stored on the fire engine are used to gain entry into burning buildings for fire fighting and rescue.

Fire fighting

The Fire Engines have both separate Water and Foam Tank to respond effectively to fire incidents within the city, where it has the capability to draw water both from the Hydrant and any nearby water sources.

The Fire engines are equipped with the Hoses and Nozzles that are typically found on Fire Engines and have a fire extinguisher to fight small fires.

The Fire Engine carry the SCBA (Self-contained breathing Apparatus ) for the firefighters to use, as part of their bunker gear.

A scenario that Gaza’s rescue workers have been encountering regularly is having to try to calm children who are stuck beneath the ruins of their home. “The children call out from the rubble asking about their family members,” Musa continued. “We sometimes lie and tell them everyone is okay so that they don’t go into shock. Other times, they call out to tell us that a family member lying next to them has been martyred.” For Musa, it often feels like he and his colleagues are fighting a losing battle. “It’s not one or two houses being bombed, but entire residential complexes,” he explained. “The whole area is completely erased and becomes a single pile of rubble. We need to dig with our hands to remove injured people who are still alive. We try to be careful because the weight of the rubble on their bodies could mean that we could injure them, even costing them limbs, in our attempts to save them.”

Despite the horrors they are facing, Musa and Abu Khudair both find real purpose in their work. “We feel that these are our children, our siblings, our families whom we are saving,” Musa explained. “We feel a sense of victory when we succeed in safely removing someone from the rubble. But when we hear the cries of help from children under the rubble, none of us can hold back our tears.”  “This is our work,” said Abu Khudair. “Even though Israel does not respect international law, the law is on our side and we are protected by the will of God.”
