【 1900のベンチ】CityBench　ニューヨーク市  USA

ベンチには、お世話になっています。 　 自分が何気に撮りためている写真を 見直してみると。 　 やっぱり ベンチにはお世話になっています。 　 そして 自分が何気に 「ここにもない、あそこにもない」と ベンチがない通りや広場に ツッコミを入れています。

いいベンチって何だろう。 　 ベンチが嬉しいってどんな場所だろう。 　　

「ベンチワーク」（笑） もっともっと力を入れよう。 そんな風に旅するたびに思います。 　 きっとベンチがあるところって、 歩く人への思いやりがあるところ。

1900のベンチがつながる

アメリカ ニューヨークでは2011年から 交通局が主体となり　 CityBenchプログラムが進んでいます。

2019年までに5つの地区に 1900台以上のベンチを設置しています。 （現在の実数はもっとあるかもしれません）

魅力的なのは誰でも市民が ベンチをここにおいてほしいと 要求できるシステムがあること。 どこにベンチがあるかオンラインでMAPでチェックできます。

CityBench は「ベンチを置く」ことに 予算をつけているわけではありません。 目的は　交通サービスへの障壁を取り除き、 高齢者や障害を持つ個人のモビリティ向上です。 つまり　 歩く人への思いやりに予算がついている。 これらをまるっと含めてCityBenchプログラム。 そのビジョンとシステムの合致が 素晴らしいですよね。

ベンチを起点として繋げ 点から面に

パークスターズでも「ベンチワーク」 ますます力を入れていこうと思います。 ベンチを増やす場所探し選ぶ フィールドワークとワークショップ。 ベンチのデザイン/製作に 市民や地域コミュニティが 参画できるプロセス支援。 広場やパブリックスペース活性の 流れ作りまでサポートできるように。

多様性ある人たちが、 歩いたり自転車でも移動を楽しめる人の流れ。 これが優先され その起点としてベンチを増やしていく。

地域づくりの取り組みとしても 広がってほしいところです。
