Chika Has Tiny Desk Concert
youtube
Chika recently made her Tiny Desk debut with an 18-minute set of five songs. She clearly articulated every word with the support of a guitar, bass, the Peruvian cajón for percussion and cool harmonies. Her movement from an online creator to entering the music industry is giving fans of earthy hip-hop hope. Chika kept the audience engaged with humor and dialogue about the songs. Her debut EP, Industry Games is out now.

WELCOME TO DENVER, alexander! you’ve been accepted as uzoamaka “uzo” amaechi (CHIKA ORANIKA)! please have your account sent in within 24 hours; don’t forget your CHECKLIST!
ALEXANDER, TWENTY-THREE, EASTERN; HE/HIM. | if you’re hearing THE PROMISE by TRACY CHAPMAN playing, you have to know UZOAMAKA (UZO) AMAECHI (SHE/HER; CIS WOMAN) is near by! the TWENTY-SIX year old STUDENT has been in denver for like, TWO YEARS. they’re known to be quite OVERCONFIDENT, but being AN AUTHENTIC PERSON seems to balance that out. or maybe it’s the fact that they resemble CHIKA ORANIKA. personally, i’d love to know more about them seeing as how they’ve got those PATCHES COVERING A LEATHER JACKET, VIBRANT PAINTED FINGER NAILS, HIDING A SMILE BEHIND HER HAND vibes. and maybe i’ll get my chance if i hang out around the RIVER NORTH ART DISTRICT long enough!
filling wc for icingsweet/cat’s Alice’s potential partner AND andante–andante/starling’s employee for As You Wish bookshop! <3
