🍓BAGUIO City 2022: Solo for 3-days!
Are you a fan of cold & chilling weather with light rain pouring? That sky's full of clouds and dimmed day? When you walk you feel that cold touch of the breeze? Then YOU NEED TO VISIT BAGUIO CITY IN AUGUST (August - November)!
I'm so bummed and pissed off in these hot and sweaty weeks in Bulacan. Yes, It's raining but let's be honest here... Even if it rains, it's still HOT. My AC keeps me sane these days. That's why I immediately started a plan when I saw a post about Baguio City! And I'm going to share it with you guys. 🍓
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
🍓Check Bus Stations that have the Baguio City trips. For me, I choose Victory Liner. There's also Genesis and Joyous which are excellent for a deluxe experience. As for me, I went on a regular bus aircon which cost less. Check this link for more information about Victory Liner trips. This cost me 485 PHP. The roundtrip would x2 the cost.
🍓Check Baguio City's accommodation. There are a lot of apps that can help you find the best and cheapest accommodations. I used Facebook, Agoda, and Air BnB. Air BnB got me the best accommodation for me, it's near the City center and has cheap taxi fees(Around 70-80PHP) + it has a great balcony and view and the house is comfortable. This cost me 3,999 PHP for 3 nights.
🍓Budget your food expenses. Foods in Baguio aren't so far from the prices in Manila, there are cafeterias around and convenience stores for your budget meals. So expect that your meal expense should play around 100-250 PHP. But if you have a really expensive taste then prepare 500 PHP a meal.
(3 meals x 250) x 3 days = 2,250 PHP

(3 meals x 500) x 3 days = 4,500 PHP
🍓Budget your pasalubong. If you're really on a tight budget, then I suggest minimizing your pasalubong. Anything in bulk is cheap if you're haggling. As for me, I only bought 2 shirts, 3 Baguio accessories, 4 strawberry wines, 4 strawberry jams, and 2 snacks that cost me an overall of 1,890 PHP.
🍓Plan your itinerary for tourist spots. The way I organized how I visit the tourist spots here in Baguio City is by their location.
On my first day at Baguio, I visited Mirador's Hill - Lady Lourdes Grotto - Burnham Park - SM City order. This way I can lessen the taxi fees from traveling to point A to B and also take advantage of the near places. At night I went to Night Market(NM) which starts at 8 PM until 12 AM. This cost me 300 PHP to get around + an Environmental fee of 100 PHP at Mirador's Hill + Burnham Park Boat 300 PHP + Night Market at your expense. Be sure to be early @NM since rare items at the lowest price(50-100 PHP) get sold out immediately.
On my second day at Baguio, I visited Botanical Garden - Wright Park - The Mansion - Mines View - Good Sheperd. You can actually use a jeepney for transportation and it'll cost you less than a taxi, but for me, I like traveling privately. From Botanical Garden, I walked to Wright Park and rode a horse then walked to the Mansion. Then used a taxi again to travel to Mines View and Good Sheperd. This cost me 500 PHP to get around + an Entrance fee of 10 PHP at Botanical Garden + Wright Park Horseback Ride 250 PHP.
On my third day at Baguio, I went to rest and at night, I visited HillBilly's restaurant and bar instead of the famous Baguio Craft Brewery. This place is cheaper if you wanted that nice night view of Baguio and lesser crowd. At the Baguio Craft Brewery, it will take you hours to get in since the line is famously long. This cost me 250 PHP roundtrip back to Air BnB + food at your expense.
🍓My overall expense on my Baguio City 3-day trip?
Roundtrip Bus ticket Manila-Baguio: 970 PHP
Room Accommodation via Air Bnb: 3,999 PHP
Food Budget: 2,250PHP - 4,500 PHP
Pasalubong Budget: 2,000 PHP
1st Day Itinerary: 700 PHP + NM 500 PHP
2nd Day Itinerary: 760 PHP
3rd Day Itinerary: 250 PHP + HillBilly's 1,000 PHP

Aw, thank you! the sequel to THAT fic is also still in the works! Just very....very slowly, like so many of my projects right now. OKAY WELL giant glut of vigilante superhero Burners and worldbuilding stuff under the cut I guess lmao
As far as powers go:
Chuck’s a telepath, that one’s pretty straightforward and covered in the first fic.
Mike is faster and stronger than a normal human at baseline, but he can also reach out his power to his allies and boost them, and get a return boost of power, which he can continue to give to people--a feedback loop of strengthening and encouraging his friends, basically. Nerd
Texas is already a strong, sturdy dude, but also he can essentially Hulk out into a giant, scaly rhino-dino-man AKA Stronghorn.
Dutch controls metal ala Magneto from Xmen, but his use for it is usually much more subtle because on the side he’s also an inventor/mechanic/genius. It takes a lot of strain to lift your enemy’s car into the air and smash it, but if you know how cars work it’s a lot less effort to reach in and unscrew all his spark plugs and then also jam his guns.
Julie has the ability to make illusions, which are more solid and effect the world more, the harder she focuses and practices them.
How they met Mike:
Dutch fixes Anything That Goes out of his garage; Mike brought in his motorcycle, and Dutch noticed pretty much immediately that he was Mike Chilton, because he doesn’t have a superhero alias and barely bothers to pretend he’s not the same guy who’s wanted by the cops. There was some edgy negotiating and then it turned out they were both vigilantes and then they were bros.
Texas and Mike tend to show up to similar crime scenes because they’re both very strong and live in a similar area, and they bonded at fights and then Texas was like “you seem cool, let’s go get pizza” and then they were bros.
Julie knew Mike from a distance when he was one of her dad’s cops, and then saved his ass when she found him losing a fight one day months later and eventually very slowly established trust with him. And then they were bros.
Chuck has a personal interest in clearing weird old superpowered/arcane artifacts off the streets, and he was following Julie’s tip to a weird psychic silver skull when the dude he was grudgingly working with went and touched it like an idiot. While escaping the skull’s weird psychic test/trap him and Mike accidentally brain-bonded and then (eventually) they were bros.
Also polyburners, they’re all together idk what to tell you.
I don’t have much for you about costumes, especially since Kane’s Detroit Of The Future in the Supersynesthesiac verse is not very welcoming to superheroes, so capes and costumes aren’t as much a thing; reinforced underarmor in a variety of colors and designs, usually covered by normal clothes are about the most superheroesque that people get.
Texas shreds everything he wears on a pretty regular basis, so he just goes out there in like, the cheapest T-shirts and tanks he can find and probably like.........jeans or big sweatpants. He bulks up somewhat more on his upper half and is a lot more spiky up there, so sometimes if he wears stretchy enough pants he can get in and out of a fight without his pants ending up structurally unsound.
Chuck grew up on comic books, was really quietly excited about the thought of being a Real Superhero, so he does have the blue and gold under-armor, but he’s also got a bulletproof vest and gloves and jeans and goggles because it’s a dangerous city out there and skin contact is A Lot for him.
Mike just really likes his jacket so he wears that around a lot of the time, it’s basically his normal courier outfit but without the T-shirt over the green and black under-armor.
Dutch has a family and a job and can generally stop crimes without people even realizing that he’s the one doing it, so he dresses like a normal person most of the time. He’s fully capable of pulling together a scrap metal mask and gauntlets or a staff with metal clinging to the ends and going to town if push comes to shove, though.
Julie’s got the under-armor look, but she dresses in very plain, dark colors and uses illusions to give herself a very feline face, yellow eyes and cat ears. It’s distracting enough that most people never even think to look at anything else, and then Julie’s gone and they know nothing about her. Also, she thinks it’s very cute. So win-win.

I have a question about Japan what were some major differences you saw between Japan and where you live ?

I live in America, so there’s a ton of differences.
For one, the food obviously is a lot different. Not too much you can get in bulk, so you have to go to the supermarket often. Meats are varying in price, fish being the cheapest and then beef being the most expensive. Fruit is essentially nonexistent unless you’re willing to spend about $5 for a single apple, it’s very expensive! >o
Overall life here is interesting too; people keep to themselves a lot in public and typically try to stay organized. There is also definitely the aspect of not many people are keen on interacting with a foreigner. I’ve been on a bus that was packed except for the seat next to me, but nobody was willing to sit there, haha. Or, I have spoken Japanese to people to ask for locations, what something was, etc; and they’ll respond “Sorry I don’t speak English.” There’s essentially no foreigners, I think 97% of Japan’s population is Japanese last I checked, with other East Asian immigrants being a majority of that 3%. The good thing, I suppose, that opposed to America, nobody will ever approach me because I’m a foreigner; while in America many foreigners or immigrants can be just randomly approached or harassed.
Fashion is another big thing. It’s crucial as a young woman (which is... maybe a societal problem hmm) to dress up every day in something nice or at least fashionable when you attend classes. I’ve never seen anybody in something like just jeans and a T-shirt or hoodie. Usually it’s long pants or long skirts and nice blouses. Plus, most (sometimes it feels like.. 99%) of girls here wear makeup, while in America you can get away with not having to, obviously. Hair too! Girls and guys here style their hair every morning pretty much. It’s kind of sad to the people who just want to relax one day, because they look quite out of place compared to others. Again, this seems like it’s a slight societal problem. Luckily, more and more people are dyeing their hair crazy colors; but even then it’s about 1 in 200, and my university is quite liberal. In America it’s way more people nowadays.
Compared to America, there’s also WAY more integration of traditional culture within their pop culture or even just day to day life. Not America’s fault, since America is quite young compared to Japan! Images of traditional clothing, or even just walking in the city with tall buildings and suddenly there’s a small shrine near you; it’s very interesting as a history major :3
So yeah! Lots of differences, some good and some bad. TLDR, stuff is a little pricey here, fashion and presenting yourself every day the best you can is crucial, and Japan integrates history into their day-to-day life much more on average.
