Russian Su-35 in the crosshairs of French Rafale fighters over Syria 🇸🇾

Russian Su-35 jets entered the crosshairs of the French fighter Rafale when the two were involved in a tense impasse on the border between Iraq and Syria on July 6.

“On 07/06, 2 Rafales on a protection mission on the Iraq-Syria border reacted to a non-professional interaction by a Su-35 (from Russia),” tweeted the Directorate of Operations of the French Ministry of Defense.

To reinforce their statement, the French authorities presented a photo of the Russian combat aircraft involved in the event, probably taken from a Damocles or Talios observation capsule, illustrating its proximity to the Rafales.

The (French) pilots maneuvered to control the risk of an accident before continuing the patrol, the tweet said.

Reposting the French tweet, the U.S. Central Air Force (US AFCENT) released on Twitter: "Once again today, Russian fighters flew incredibly insecure and unprofessional against French and American aircraft over Syria. We fully support the right of our French allies to carry out security missions in the region."

The Russian Ministry of Defense or the Russian media did not release any notes about this incident.

French Rafale fighters were mobilized to the region to carry out air strikes against ISIS targets and offer direct air support to ground forces as part of Operation Chammal, which is France's contribution to the multinational Operation Inherent Resolve, aimed at combating the threat posed by ISIS.

France's participation in this mission began in September 2014 at the request of the Iraqi authorities.

The meeting between the French Rafales and the Russian Su-35s took place less than twenty-four hours after the U.S. released images showing three Russian Su-35 planes "shating" three American MQ-9 Reaper drones that were involved in an operation against ISIS in Syria.

Just... Me talking about Pokemon B&W (mostly Ingo, Emmet and Elesa)

So... For some reason I've become (again) obsessed with Pokemon Black and White (one of my first pokemon game !). And seeing all the fanart /fic of Ingo, Emmet and even Elesa makes me so so happy ! (thanks to Legend Arceus (whyyy Ingoooo ;w;))

So here some screenshot of these dorks from the anime and manga.

Elesa is so pretty !! I like so much her clothes when she did the fashion show ! I think I prefer her new version (with black hair) but the blond hair is iconic too ! (When I will have the time, I want to draw her !)

I've never see Ingo smile so much, thanks to the anime T^T (I dunno why but the screenshot below makes me laugh so much) Because in the manga and game he's always frowning. But in the anime, the twins exchange their expressions ! So cute !

The manga is so fun too ! I didn't read it all. Just some portions. But the expressions and interactions are so cool ! Maybe one time, I will try to start from the beginning (makes me remember the first manga with Red, aaah souvenirs).

French Navy Rafales accompany Russian jets near the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle

The French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, currently in the Eastern Mediterranean, monitored groups of Russian fighter jets taking off from Latakia, Syria.

On February 19, the French Defense General Staff (EMA) published four photographs, two of which were black and white [and of degraded quality] made by Rafales pilots of the French Navy. At this meeting on February 18, there are two Su-30/35 escorting a Russian Tu-22M "Backfire" strategic bomber, capable of transporting the Kh-22 anti-ship missile.

"During the last few days, interactions of the 'French CSG' [Carrier Strike Group) deployed in MEDOR [Eastern Mediterranean] to Chammal, with Russian aircraft, which were detected as soon as they took off from Latakia and then permanently followed by 'French CSG' units," specified the French Defense General Staff on Twitter.

As for the other two photographs, one is an aerial view of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, the other shows the American Destroyer USS Ross [DDG 71], which is part of the Charles de Gaulle Attack Group. Probably the goal was to send a message of unity to Russian forces, that is, that French and Americans are on the same line [at least, this is the interpretation that can be made] .

The next day, the EMA published a video this time showing at least one Rafale Marine following two Su-30/35 and one Il-38 maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare aircraft.

“On 02/18, Rafales, on a protective mission” of the aircraft carrier battle group deployed in Operation Chammal, escorted two Russian Su-30/35 and one Il-38 operating near French units and allies. Professional interaction," commented the French General Staff soberly.

The Russian website avia.pro reported that "a group of French fighters from the aviation wing of the French nuclear aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle tried to provoke and intercept Russian long-range tactical bombers Tu-22M3 flying over the waters of the Mediterranean Sea with Kh-32 anti-ship cruise missiles".Also according to the Russian website, "French pilots were unable to intercept Russian Tu-22M3 bombers, as Russian Su-35S fighters that covered them forced French Navy planes to retreat a few kilometers away."

Russia said military jets flew in international airspace.

According to a parliamentary report published last week, the Russian military presence now represents a "challenge" for French forces, in that it results in the establishment, in Syria in particular, of denial and prohibition of access capabilities [A2/AD] and the deployment - ad hoc - of bombers likely to carry anti-ship missiles.
