I am so sorry this took me ages to get to. I was scratching my head real good over who was going to jump on it and, at last, two of my newer ocs piped up and said they'd like to. x3

A gentle chuckle tumbled out behind him. Maltaf pulled his eyes away from the stars dappling Tython’s skies and sinking into the shadow of the trees to the woman approaching with a smile easily draped across her lips and arms loosely looped in front of her.

“I thought you were off the guard for the night,” Satia said, a brush of her sharp wit leaping through the words as her soft eyes glittered with amusement. “Aren’t avoiding everyone, are you?”

A careful hand brushed over his shoulder as she joined him. Firelight still subtly bathed their backs from here, though his selected spot among the wildflowers under the slope of the trees wasn’t far from the Temple grounds. Just far enough that the music was a quietly fragmented upon the drifting breeze.

“I am,” Maltaf said.

“Avoiding everyone?” Satia’s lips quirked into a glittering grin.

Despite his best intentions, an easy smile began to slip over his lips as he rolled his eyes. “Don’t be like that,” he grumbled. “You know how it is. Old habits, I suppose.”

Satia hummed a soft acknowledgement as her hand slipped easily down his arm, skin brushing skin where his sleeves fell away. There was the familiar hint of the scar on the inside of his right arm, usually concealed by bracers or robes or armoring in his field work. At least he had dressed lighter for the night. The festival was meant to be a time of exchange and reflection, freer of the vigilance that had raised them to the Jedi that they were today.

Satia’s head rested against his shoulder as she laced her fingers with his. For a moment, he let his eyes close to sink into the comforting warmth of her hand in his.

Then he cleared his throat gently and Satia straightened, though his fingers tightened around hers when she went to draw away. When she looked over at him, he allowed her a faint smile she echoed easily.

“You are worried,” she observed.

“Naturally,” he said with a modest shrug of a shoulder. He released a sigh quietly and shook his head. “I see much of myself - my younger self - in him. Our patrols worry tensions are escalating.”

“So you are here,” she surmised.

Again, he nodded. “So I am.”

Satia nodded and followed his gaze back out to the shadowy outlines of the trees and mountains. “That is why you are such a good pair,” she reminded him gently. “You have walked such a path. You may show the way.”

Maltaf only nodded silently, so Satia patted his chest gently and offered him a soft smile. “You will not find your answers here, my friend. Come away. The padawans are not the only ones in need of a break from contemplation and teachings.”

He rolled his eyes, but a fond smile slipped across his lips once more as she pulled him back towards the firelight. “I trust you have not forgotten your steps?”

“You would have us dance?”

Satia narrowed her eyes. “No sabers this time,” she teased. “I was thinking something more… traditional. You recall the rites?”

He shook his head, but he smiled. “Of course. You’d never let me forget.” She briefly straightened his tunic before they both took a few steps back and Satia offered out her hand first. His fingertips barely brushed hers when he reached back for her, palms to the sky.

Satia’s smile warmed. It had been too long. “I see you, Maltaf Orathuse. I honor your past. Will you honor mine?”

Maltaf took her hand as they stepped closer. Hers had a way of fitting effortlessly into his. The small diamonds across her knuckles dappled golden skin like the stars above danced in the dark of night. “The honor would be mine, Satia Lerann. Will you walk with me to dawn?”

Her fingers tightened around his. “So long as you walk with me.”

When she stepped left, he stepped right, eyes locked together, trying to resist spiraling effortlessly into the soft wooded violet hues of her eyes as they followed the lines and patterns etched across his cheek, flowing over the faded marks of Coruscant a decade prior - a blow he had once taken while she ran ahead.

The mountain air felt crisper, the firelight a bit brighter as it danced with them spinning in the small clearing to drums they remembered in their hearts.

Man. I have sat on these so long because I wasn't certain of the answers and now I'm... half uncertain about which list they were from, but I'm pretty sure they were from the 25 list. Anyway, I also got 10 for her from you this list, but I am kdsfnlsaf admittedly a little too lazy to grab that screenshot to include in here, SO. We will just do them all together.

8. Is there something your character deeply regrets from their past?

In short, Satia is someone who would say she lives without any deep regrets - particularly from her past or growing up. And this is true insofar as what I know about her, at least for now. There is a part of her that worries for the burdens placed upon Maltaf by the pair of them surviving the Sacking of Coruscant together. Much of his scarring from that day was earned defending her as she led their group of fellow padawans away to safety fleeing from the Sith while he took up the rear to defend them and buy them time. Maltaf has always been rather reserved, but he’s also incredibly private, particularly as they’ve both grown into their roles as Jedi. They’ve been close friends for many years in part due to that day and, of course, their training prior and since, despite their different specializations, so she does what she can to keep him grounded and keep an eye out for when he tries to shoulder too much.

What they did that day was necessary for their survival and all they've done since is the best that they can. She's made what peace is necessary for her life with that day. It's all any of them can meaningfully do, perhaps. Wallowing in the past is not like to change it, thus she rarely sees a purpose for basting overlong in it. She will strive to learn her lessons and move on.

9. If asked, would your character say they were happy as a child?

Yes, she would. Though she was raised with a heavy influence by the Order, several of her instructors were fellow Mirialans and Satia has always enjoyed keeping that connection to her people and learning of other cultures as well. She is still a firm believer in the Jedi’s work as peacekeepers and her life with the Order has allowed her to develop and explore her passions. She's done with her life what she is passionate for. The Jedi was that path, that structure through which to channel her love of learning and exchanging ideas with others.

10. What were your character’s favorite and least favorite parts of their education?

Satia does certainly enjoy learning of history and rituals (and she is particularly fond of musical and dance traditions), but she did also enjoy her combat training. Satia wields a dual saber and has - several times - won sparring matches against Maltaf, hence her shared influence on Rhyst’s training as a Shadow. For all her love of history and people though, she’s still not too keen about political matters. She will manage it with the same decorum, but for the love of the Ancestors… sometimes, cutting things in half maybe is the answer. (She’s joking. Most of the time.)

Ssksksk we're gonna be here a minute, lmaoooo, let's GOOOOO.

Let's aauhhh, I have no idea in which order to go, god. I guess in the order I have them listed on my "masterpost." [Honks clown nose, "masterpost" like it'll ever keep up with all my oc thoughts]. Gonna skip around a tad and do, like, the ones I'm fairly certain I have a handle on, which means a few might not appear that are on the list and a few that aren't on the list may show up.

In attempting to stay true to "don't think, just answer," I'm going to resist the urge to explain why and just. Go. But I'm gonna operate under the cantina assumption that this is just flirting probably starting on looks and then getting to know each other later if anything comes of it, sO. With baselines established, let's get off to the races.

23. Do they like to have a lie in or do rise early?

Alrighty, the XIV boys first, and then I have some feels about some of the SWTOR blorbos, too, hehe. <3

Astor is more a mid-morning person; not particularly early and not too late, when given the choice. Errs slightly towards the earlier end because of the small horde of animals in his care, lol.

Shay, on the other hand, is consistently an early riser like clockwork. He sleeps lighter on average as well, so he's generally easier to wake. Generally, this used to mean he was also out of bed at those early hours already starting his day, but Airi has managed to at least keep him in with her more often now, if only to admire her while she sleeps in the rising first lights of the sun.

Leo's been fighting a largely losing battle with insomnia for roughly half a decade by the time class stories kick off; he tends to be up later and, by association and when he's left to his own devices, starts a lot later, too. Regularly guilty of trying to make Dash stay in bed with him for five more minutes, probably mumbled as he snuggles up more against his chest and with an incredibly dramatic whine when inevitably he has to face the much colder reality that is being awake.

Tyr's a relatively early riser and he has a solid morning routine that can feel a bit ritualistic and helps keep him grounded, as long as he sticks with it. The occasional exception is gladly made to get more time with Theron when their lives offer them a few minutes for breathing room. Caf has gone cold on the nightstand before to let him and Theron sit in bed together tangled comfortably in each other's arms, Tyr's face buried comfortably against his back or vice versa, just to take in the other's company.

Satia and Maltaf like to take the morning a bit more slowly. Satia in particular likes to get in a little bit of morning meditation.

Cee is similarly guilty of "five more minutes." Oliver lets her get away with it more often than not, but is still the one that is eventually coaxing them both out of bed, often with Cee groaning at him for being a spoilsport and a workaholic. Oli threatens to tickle her if she doesn't get up. He has a few times. Cee calls this an act of high betrayal, but it has also gotten him back into bed for a few more cuddles several times. So she's almost succeeded. Almost.
