The list celebrates all that is good and great in the LGBT+ community

This year’s Pride Power List has been released and it includes musicians Years and Years‘ Olly Alexander and Lucy Spraggan, and also actor Sir Ian McKellen.

Today, celebrations are taking place in the nation’s capital to commemorate Pride in London – honouring the lives, achievements, history and future of the LGBT+ community.

To coincide with the occasion, the Pride Power List 2019 has been released, revealing the members of the LGBT+ community in the UK who have made a significant impact in the fight for the equality and inclusion of LGBT+ individuals.

“The list celebrates all that is good and great in the LGBT+ community and has a unique mix of celebrity, community, celebrity and business leaders,” said Linda Riley, founder of the Pride Power List.

Individuals included in this year’s list include musicians Years and Years‘ Olly Alexander, Lucy Spraggan and Westlife’s Mark Feehily, and actor Sir Ian McKellen.

she was all fire and thunder. clenched fists and white hot anger, mossy hues aflame. emotions weren’t something she tended to wear on her sleeve, heather more often than not preferring to keep such things neatly tucked away, creating an almost unreadable appearance to the outside world. but anger was something she’d never quite mastered the art of concealing. it bubbled and boiled just beneath the surface at all times; thick and dark and spilling forth despite her best efforts to contain it. “i’m fucking serious, vladmir.” her gaze was unwavering and lethal, her jaw tightly clenched. she shook her head, a humorless scoff tumbling past the threshold of her lips, followed by a trembling sigh. “i’ll wreck this if i have to. watch me.”

the car ride home had been quiet, conversation appearing to be almost nonexistent despite heather’s many attempts to spark some sort of interaction that lasted more than a few seconds. she’d tried nearly everything under the sun: rambling on about her day, the never ending queue of colorful personalities that seemed to flock in and out of the shop, even resulting to talking about the god damn weather, as cliche as it may have been. but no matter what topic she tried, she was only met with radio silence, or at the very least, some halfhearted response that left her with nothing but frustration and a dwindling good mood.

she had resulted to gushing about a favorite client of hers, if only to fill up the void of silence and keep what was left of her high spirits intact. he was a man with a dry wit and a penchant for dark humor that seemed to rival her own, a regular of hers since heather’s early days as an apprentice. in total, he’d commissioned five custom tattoos from the artist over the years, soon to be six after their most recent consultation. her excitement was evident as she described her ideas for the upcoming piece, still eagerly explaining as she slid her house keys into the door and flipped the lock with a soft metallic ‘click’. she breezed through their front door and immediately kicked off her shoes and shed her leather jacket, dropping her keys onto the coffee table and making a beeline for the fridge.

her partner’s bad mood had been forgotten almost entirely, heather having briefly been too wrapped up in her excitement to notice it any further. but the tension that now seemed to hang in the air was a neon sign that screamed trouble, heather finally being forced to acknowledge it as tattooed digits curled around a beer bottle. “you’ve been awfully quiet.” a slightly pointed statement, the brunette popping the cap off of her bottle and bringing it to her lips. she took a quick swig and sighed, brow arching as she rested her hip against the counter. “wanna tell me what’s up with you?” she asked, eyeing them curiously. “i feel like you’ve barely said two words to me ever since i got in the car.” // @tcboowritings
