devotion not as worship. but as recognition. as "i want to stand with you, and beside you." as learning. as understanding. as "i want to know you." as "i am making the choice to get to know you." as persistence. as care. as "you are knowable." as "you are lovable." devotion not as idolatry. but devotion as mortality. as a reflection. "you and i, together. equals. partners." devotion as accompaniment. devotion as humanity.

I do always love cdrama productions that are like. we will make our actors/characters the most insanely beautiful people ever. whether it's through costume design and hair & make-up (Love Between Fairy and Devil; Love You Seven Times; My Journey to You) or through storytelling– the way the character is framed in a shot/scene, angles, associated sceneries and motifs (Lost You Forever; In Blossom currently). actors becoming both art and artist. am I making sense

I wonder what happened to the kids after DFS freed them from the Dí Fortress, he certainly didn't stay around once his long awaited vengeance was fulfilled. He freed them and walked away. The kids wouldn't even know who he was.
DFS wouldn't want them to know anyway, wouldn't want anyone to know. He'd rather have HuaHua misunderstanding and hating him for his betrayal than explaining himself and exposing this deep secret past. Thankfully HuaHua saw past that!
Most of the kids probably needed medical (and psychological) attention, maybe some stayed around long enough to be picked up by HuaHua and XiâoBâo and taken into TianJi Manor. Or maybe WúYán was tasked with settling them anonymously but I don't think DFS would have wanted him to know either.
Aaaaanyway!
If I didn't have a crush on a-Fei already, that scene would have doomed me for sure! Seriously, YáoYao says so much with his eyes! My heart can't take it!!!😭😭😭 I'm also very frustrated because my arting skills can't do him justice!
And I actually screamed (internally) when he said that sentence during the song 天下 for the 2023 iQiyi Scream Night.

Li Xiangyi and Di Feisheng are two legends, two myths, the two most powerful martial artists of the Jianghu, the heads of the two biggest sects. The Fastest Sword and the Demon King.
They are the characters of a story that everyone knows and tell. They are ideals. They are role models who embodies different values and different visions.
They are two faces of the same coin, opposite yet complementary. They are the sun and the moon. They are what people would like to be and what they would like to never be. They are hope and fear. They are meaningful and important names written in books and reports.
They are two abstract figures in the history of Martial Arts. The archetypes of the Hero and the Villain. Something to reach and something to fight.
But for Fang Duobing, beside and before all of this, they are and always be Li Lianhua and A-Fei.
The wandering physician with a sharp mind and silver tong and his old mysterious friend with an imposing look and a smug attitude.
The one who lives in a weird wheeled house with a dog, who can't cook (at least not so well), who grows his own vegetables and plants and just wants a simple and carefree life and the one who has appeared suddenly, who seems to not fear everything, who is straightforward, who seems always to have something to hide, who seems violent and hot-tempered but he actually isn't, who says he has no taste but it isn't completely true, who actually cares but does not want to show it.
For Xiaobao, before everything, they are his friends, the first people he has met in the Jianghu and he has trusted. When he discovers the truth about their identities, in his eyes they don't stop to be the myths and legends he has grown up with but they become real. They are real human people with strengths and weaknesses and he accepts them. This doesn't diminish their value, their roles or what they represent but in a certain way it makes them more reachable and tangible.
Can you imagine the faces of the people who sees this kid acting without restrains around these two legendary personalities who don't seem particularly bothered by his manners? I can and I can't help but laugh at that.

Xiao Shunyao containing multitudes.
Even if he's technically using similar facial expressions, the vibe is different - and not just because of the costuming. Actors have to be malleable, I guess, so they can believably disappear.

People who have watched a lot of C-dramas. Please help.

I spent a solid amount of time being obsessed with Love Between Fairy and Devil, and am now in a mood to watch something that would scratch a similar itch.
Some research has lead me to two options.
The one with the ship made up out of 'The Silly One and the Grouchy One' but gay:

Or 'Two Chaos/Order Ships for the Price of One' one:

Commenter 1: Only after I went to watch did I realize, no matter if it's Ultimate Note, Heroes, or the currently airing Mysterious Lotus Casebook, in the end, it seems the only one left is Zeng Shunxi, all alone. That's so wretched. Commenter 2: Wu Xie: "My life is lucky."

There was some sort of Sunday WIP thing that @randomingoftherandomness tagged me in but for the life of me, I can't find the post anymore. I'm just going to throw a piece of story on here as an incentive to continue writing lmao:
Mysterious Lotus Casebook: FangDi pairing in inception but not sure when I'll finish this because my brain's been mired in existential sadness and ghost stories and I haven't found anything fun enough to pull me out of that creative mode. As you can see, the tone of this thing is my 4am insomnia-drunk attempt at the romance genre. But... all I'm ending up with is goofy comedy.
Feel free to comment, but this is a first draft regurgitation, so keep that in mind.

Pear Blossoms In Spring
“Ah, this is the Iron Head Slave. Remember?” says Li Lianhua the Lying Liar gesturing to the tall, leggy beauty blocking their path. “His name is a-Fei.”
The iron head slave is still lying dead not too far behind them, his feet sticking out from under a bush -- but Fang Duobing isn’t about to argue. He is too busy feeling as if all the air is being sucked out of his lungs, causing his vision to narrow and the world to spark in bright white light. Is this what love at first sight feels like?
A-Fei sighs and stares off into the trees as Li Lianhua continues to babble. Fang Duobing doesn’t hear a word being said.
“—which is perfect, You’re taking Ge Pan to Baichuan Court, so I’ll be taking him to Pudu temple to find another old friend of his,” Li Lianhua says.
“You speak so much nonsense,” a-Fei mutters, his voice is grating and viperish - and dripping with a fascinating blend of resignation and arrogance. He turns on his heel and stalks away.
“So rude,” Fang Duobing says admiringly, entranced by the perky sway of a-Fei’s skirt as he strides down the path in front of them. Both Ge Pan and Li Lianhua look askance at him.
*
Fang Duobing loved wild, powerful animals. The more willful and temperamental the better. He'd grown up with needles stabbed deep into his meridians, the taste of copper blood and vomit on his tongue, and the acrid poison of immolated oil belched from the monstrous machines rolled out from his mother's workshop. Was it any wonder that the first thing his young fingers reached for would be the glimmering scales of a black python? Or the bloodied, silver fur of a chained, snarling wolf?

"Personally if you felted a big fluffy hedge and had some glasses on the ground by it and his twinky limbs sticking out I'd be into it" - @blackswan-wildgeese
Guardian Bingo Fest's bonus prompt for March is 'Take A Leap' and I'm swapping my B5 'fake dating' prompt for this.
Despite several suggestions of various people being yeeted from various places "Professor Shen being yote off that roof" was the one that truly spoke to my permanently unserious soul. And this is why you should have friends that encourage your interest in crafting being used for shitpostesque purposes. I have spent half the time making this cackling to myself and if that's not a sign I made the right decision, I don't know what is.
The design changed and got slightly more complicated because what if Shen Wei had had to commit to his lie so much that we got a very different shot than what we actually got:

Having watched the DMBJ/The Lost Tomb franchise early on my deep dive into CDramaland is adding an extra layer of fun to so many series!
Love And Redemption 琉璃 is Xiâo Hua being pissed at YaToú for frolicking with Xiâo Ge (unless it's Zhang BùXùn since Dòu Chéng is his bestie) Wú Xié is her reluctant pet.
