A man who assaulted worshippers at a mosque in Mississauga, Ont., last year had been planning the attack for a year and was motivated by hatred of and a desire to intimidate Muslims, court documents show. Mohammad Moiz Omar "intended to perpetrate a mass casualty event" when he entered the Dar Al-Tawheed Islamic Centre during early morning prayer on March 19, 2022 and sprayed bear spray toward congregants while swinging a hatchet, according to an agreed statement of facts read at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Brampton, Ont. Wednesday. Omar, who was 24 years old at the time of the attack, pleaded guilty to three charges, according to one of his lawyers, Jacob Roth of Robichaud Criminal Lawyers. Those charges include administering a noxious substance with intent to endanger life or cause bodily harm, assault with a weapon, and mischief to religious property with motivation of bias, prejudice or hate based on religion. "As part of his plea, Mr. Omar acknowledged that guilt on those three charges constitutes terrorist activity," Roth said in a phone call Wednesday. [...]

thinking about the 90s is like... warmth, fuzzy colours, sweaters, sitting in a circle in the library while Ms. Carstairs reads us a story. For some reason, I still remember her name was Jennifer (even though I was only 5 at the time and she wasn't at my school after that year). Finding out about a country called Estonia in a kids' magazine (OWL?). That would've been 2001 or 2002 probably but I remember the issue was from 1995 and there was a black and white picture of some school kids and I couldn't stop thinking about who they were or where in the world Estonia was.
the 90s is Arthur and the slips in the backs of the library books and my first library card I got with my mom at the age of 5. She wrote my name on it for me. I still have the same card. Almost all the text on it, including my name, is rubbed off, part of the bar code is rubbed off (it still works though), and the card is bent down the middle. It's still the only library card I have and it still works just fine (haven't used it in 2 years but that's only cuz I haven't been in mississauga). The library used to be small, in the main strip of the plaza, before they built that big community centre behind it and moved the library there. I think the first book I checked out was The Princess and the Pea.
The 90s is The Little Mermaid and my first crush, Prince Eric. It's Barbies and crippling shyness. Ms. Lawrence and Tamara. My cousin singing Spice Girls all day, everyday. The Food Basics used to be a Metro, but it wasn't Metro at the time, it was called Dominion but the fancy "D" in the logo looked like a G and I used to wrack my brain trying to figure out why they used a G.
I wonder what the rest of the world was doing at the time.

How to Pick the Perfect Colour for Your Restaurant?
You've probably heard about massages, where skilled hands help you relax and melt away stress. But have you ever wondered about lymphatic massage? It's a different kind of massage that focuses on keeping your body's garbage disposal system, the lymphatic system, working smoothly. So, the big question is, "Can anyone get a Brazilian Lymphatic massage?" Let's dig into this and find out who can benefit from this special massage. Understanding Lymphatic Massage Before we see who can get it, let's get what lymphatic massage is all about. Your body has a lymphatic system that gets rid of waste and toxins. Lymphatic massage, also called lymphatic drainage massage, uses gentle, rhythmic strokes to keep your lymphatic system moving and help your body get rid of stuff it doesn't need. Who Can Benefit?
Those Looking to Relax: Lymphatic massage is super gentle and calming, so it's great for anyone who needs to unwind and destress. If you've had a long, tiring week or just want some self-pampering, lymphatic massage is a fantastic choice.
Post-Surgery Individuals: If you've had surgery, especially cosmetic procedures like liposuction or facelifts, lymphatic massage can do wonders. It reduces swelling, helps you heal faster, and makes recovery smoother.
Frequent Flyers: If you're a jetsetter who's tired of puffy legs and ankles after a long flight, lymphatic massage is your friend. It boosts circulation and kicks fluid retention to the curb.
Lymphedema Warriors: Some people have lymphedema, a condition where extra fluid builds up in their arms or legs. Lymphatic massage is a big help here, reducing swelling and making life more comfortable.
Things to Think About Lymphatic massage is terrific, but it's not for everyone in certain situations:
Infections or Illness: If you're battling an infection, have a fever, or something contagious, it's best to wait until you're better.
Heart or Kidney Issues: If you have serious heart or kidney problems, chat with your doctor before getting a lymphatic massage.
Expecting Moms: While some pregnant individuals find relief with lymphatic massage, talk to your healthcare provider before you book a session.
You can also consider other non-invasive treatment options like facial rejuvenation acupuncture at a naturopathic clinic. Consult a naturopath today! About Lakeside Natural Health Centre: Lakeside Natural Health Centre is a welcoming wellness destination offering rejuvenating treatments like Brazilian lymphatic massage and facial rejuvenation acupuncture. It is also a pediatric Naturopath Mississauga, with expert practitioners who specialize in rejuvenating massages and treatments.
