Daisy Howe

So I scribbled this madly, if it contains error please do excuse me. I’ve written for Daisy for a few years now, she got in my head during some very depressed moments of my life and she’s stuck with me. It definitely helps to write her. She’s an AU OC and I know that might not sit well with people, we have a good choice of possible backgrounds for our Warden at the beginning of DA:O. But I could easily see her being a part of the universe, so if she’s not for you, I understand. My very first Warden was a Tabris and I will always adore my Tabris, I just never connected with the Couslands and Daisy came from there. I hope you think she’d a good fit too. Daisy Howe Appearance: Caucasian, pale skin, blue eyes, black hair. Thankfully doesn’t have her Father's nose. Average human height – about 5’3” (but still only reaches Alistair's shoulder). Slim, athletic build. Twin daggers Rogue. Anxious, depressed and mistrustful. Tries to do “what is right” but doesn’t trust her judgement. READ MORE:

Ran away from home aged 9. Got caught by her Father's men & dragged home.Ran away from home 6 months later, this time didn't get caught.Got as far as Denerim. Hid in the Chantry garden for a few weeks, sneaking out at night to go through middens behind shops/occasionally breaking into shops by climbing through a window and stealing food/money/shiny things. Got caught by Slim Couldry & taken into the Thieves Guild. Trained to be a cutpurse & pickpocket first, then moved into burglary, heists, cons, using disguises, persuasion & coercion etc..Taught how to fight with twin daggers, how to use a garrotte, close quarters fighting, dirty fighting, how to craft basic poison & healing potions. Had learnt acrobatics as a child & continued to use as a thief.Grandmother (Mother's side) was Orleasian so has a good grasp of the language and some customs. Has physical & mental scars from her childhood. Has anxiety, depression & PTSD & struggles to trust anyone apart from Bob (the mabari). Father had her beaten by his men when she 'misbehaved' i.e.: Didn't behave to his pleasing, not ladylike enough. Arl Rendon Howe saw her as an annoyance, only valued his sons Nathaniel & Thomas (Delilah 'behaved' despite also hating her Father). Mother (Eliane) was ill for much of Daisy's childhood so Daisy feels abandoned by her. 3 months before meeting Duncan, Daisy is betrayed by another thief in the Guild who informs Rendon Howe of Daisy's whereabouts (in exchange for an insulting amount of gold). Daisy is thrown into Denerim gaol by Howe and told she either begs his forgiveness and returns home to Amaranthine to behave and be a proper Lady, or he'll have her executed. (Rendon Howe told people that Daisy had been kidnapped by bandits, and had been believed.) Daisy tells him she'd rather die. (Like Sarah Connor does in Terminator 2, I imagine Daisy keeping fit and working out in her gaol cell, using her skills of persuasion to beg for extra food from the guards – I always pump my beginning skills into Coercion for speech checks). Duncan meets Daisy at the goal after he's recruited Daveth (he and Daisy know each other through the Thief network in Denerim). Daveth knows Daisy is in gaol and suggests her to Duncan.Daisy can't help but like Duncan & is thankful he saved her from her Father & is worried Rendon Howe will try to punish the Grey Wardens. Daisy spends most of the time at Ostagar with Bob the mabari, tries to sneak into The Wilds to go looking for the flowers to use to cure Bob, but Alistair finds her and tells her the Duncan is having them go into The Wilds as their test. Fancies the arse off Alistair but doesn't say anything until MUCH later when she's badly injured and has had far too much elfroot to try to heal (I H/C it affects you like opiates so she's high as fuck and just tells Alistair that she thinks he's beautiful, whilst Zevran laughs in the background). One of the many things she loves about Alistair is his gentleness and his kindness. That he doesn't push her into anything, makes sure she's comfortable, and tries his hardest to make her laugh & feel happy. She's never had that. Recruits Leliana, Sten, Wynne, Shale, Zevran and Oghran. Asks Zevran to train her (and she'll teach him to be a better lockpick ha ha) & in return for saving him, she asks him to kill her Father. And he does. She watches Alistair kill Loghain. Stands by Alistair's wishes and lets Anora take the throne. Agonises over whether to tell Alistair about the Dark Ritual but in the end lets him make the choice. Has him stay behind to guard the Palace gates anyway, she's not putting him in harms way. Kills the Archdemon & skips off into the sunset with Alistair & Bob. (Awakening is a whole other kettle of fish. The reunion with her brother Nathaniel is not easy. At all. But Bob and Ser Pounce being cute, and Alistair & Anders having a wonderful friendship full of snark and handsomeness makes it a bit easier.)

I think i have everybody who put a note on the post saying they’d like to be included in the Auction. This is quite a big list, far bigger then Bailey or i imagined, so we unfortunately won’t be taking anymore characters, because we do need some people to obviously be bidders as well! If there is anything incorrect with the list of bachelor/ettes, or if i’ve missed something or screwed something up, or you’ve changed your mind, please let us know!

For those RP’ing being Auctioned off:

You may choose to send in a character bio of sorts, via inbox or messenger. The bio must be only 2-3 sentences long, and include name and age. If you’re happy for Bailey/ i to write you one (I’ve written up some funny ones already lmao) then please also let us know! The bio is basically the selling point of your character, so try to keep it light and charming!

The auction will happen later today, on the 14th. I’m not too sure about timezones so i will try to make it when the majority of people are online. Probably afternoon-evening for you guys, but i will make a post beforehand to ensure people are online first!

The auction will be happening via google doc. It will be open to everyone for the entirety of the 14th, and Bailey / i will post frequent updates on who is being bid on for how much in case people want to up their bids. The option of using google doc is still up in the air, i may change it to Chatzy to keep it a live feed of who is putting down how much on who so you all can keep track of who you need to ‘beat’ to ‘win’ a certain character. Please comment if you have a preference of chatzy or google doc.

Once your character is ‘sold’, your character + whoever purchased them will go on a ‘date’ that your character will have planned in advance for them. Something romantic and lovely. You do not have to gif para, or para it if you don’t want to, but i know i’d love to see all these lovely interactions on the dash!

The date only goes for one night! Obviously it’s up to you what you do on the date, but your character has to be nice to whoever wins them, it is part of being auctioned off! Your character can say no to unreasonable requests, but for the most part they are to complacent and a perfect date!

For those who are RP’ing bidding:

Either via google doc or chatzy, a link to the event will be given, and open for the entirety of the 14th! Please comment whether you’d prefer a chatzy or google doc for this event.

You can bid more then once, e.g. by commenting ‘$10 from Bailey Forrester!’ ‘$15 from Rylie Barton!’ ‘Um... $20 from Bailey Forrester!’, but you can only ‘win’ one character!

Please try to be inclusive, and stay out of cliques. Try to bid on someone who your character maybe has never spoken to before, even! Any gender, or age!

Posts will be made semi regularly to show progress in the auction and who is going for how much, so you can change your bid to more if somebody outbids you!

You will be notified on the 15th via inbox or messenger of which character you have won for a date with!

Contact the RP’er to discuss either what happens on the date, or if you’ll be RPing it! We’d love to see it on the dash!

Your character wins the character for one night! Of course, you can hang out after the auction as well- but the point is to win a Valentine’s Date!

Please don’t request anything uncomfortable or unreasonable of your character’s date. Talk to your fellow RPer to make sure you both know what you’re comfortable with first!
