Unimportant rant in the tags but idk where else to vent

#so i have a genetic illness that causes a plethora of problems including intense joint pain and dislocations #today i woke up and everything hurts so bad that i couldn't breathe #i couldn't call in sick because we're in high season #and my colleague had her day off today so i was the only one who could get the job done #on a regular off work day i would just take enough painkillers to knock over a horse and use my mobility aids more #and just go on with my day #but the sheer ableism at my workplace makes it really hard for me to rely on aids #i am already bullied enough for wearing braces UNDER MY CLOTHES #the last thing i want is to give them more reasons to mock me and relying on crutches to get around would definitely be the final blow #but i'm just so damn sore that i wonder how i'll manage to get to the end of my shift when I have to climb stairs and walk arounf #people at my workplace really use the c word as an insult #i reclaimed it for myself but hearing ableds use it so nonchalantly just angers me so much #i love my job but i hate the vibe here #unrelated #rant
