💋 How affectionate are they with their friends? Their family? Their romantic partner(s) (if they have any)? Are they more physical or emotional when it comes to displaying their affection? Why?

She's very conscious of trying to match energies with her friends (and lovers, for that matter) - so being affectionate w/ Tajih or Erasmus (like the way that some cats just want to be in the same room as you while you're both doing your own thing) is going to look very different from being affectionate w/ Thancred or Yda (these two are cuddlers). She's gotten much better at figuring out what other people are comfortable w/ since her Clown era (as I have mentioned previously, she was VERY physically affectionate with Aersthota to the point of annoying the fuck out of her and just. not picking up at all when Aersthota needed space). Very generally, she tends to be more physical in displaying affection just because communicating emotions requires. like. communication in the first place.

This question did make me think about her Not being Affectionate with parental figures. Hersande was not an affectionate person (at least, towards her kids) and I don't think that her relationship with Mdm. De Nevelle (or Edmont, for that matter) was very close, even though Mdm. De Nevelle for a while considered her to be family. With other people she's picked up as mentors, she still maintains distance - I don't think, for example, she would consider Thubyrgeim, Beatin, or Fufucha (and she does love all of them!) to be her friends. This is also where her self-imposed distance from Minfilia comes from, though she would absolutely call Minfilia a friend.

First impression

Oh, now Lyse - well, Yda at the time, I adored. Plus I had hc’s that she and Ahru got along splendidly from the start, both getting into trouble and hijinks and sparring with one another. So yeah, she was a lot of fun from the get-go.

Impression now

Adore her all the more. SB in retrospect was hit or miss in certain places for me, but I loved Lyse’s growth from the end of 3.X well into 4.X, and I am just so, so very proud of her. Boy do I miss her as a Scion though, and imagine how much fun it’d have been having her along for our adventures on the First ; ;

Favorite moment

Hm, she has a lot of good moments throughout SB especially, I really liked her talks with Hien and her growth during the little arc in the Steppes. Sparring up in Rhalgr’s Reach felt... so good for her and Ahru, considering how far they’d both come from just tussling about and crashing into crates at the Waking Sands and getting yelled at by Papalymo. ; w ;

Idea for a story

Now I’m just kind of musing over ideas of an AU where she did come along on the First and what she’d have been up to or how she might have impacted certain scenes. I think it’s pretty important she’s still in Ala Mhigo and taking care of business on the Source, but it’s fun to think about!

Unpopular opinion

:|a idk if I have one... But all the hate she gets is pretty meh. I get it if a character just isn’t your cup of tea of course, but some of it definitely edges into the same misogynistic territory of hate Minfilia got and that is some fine grade bullshit.

Favorite relationship

Her and Y’shtola, and I once shipped her with Hien briefly cuz that was interesting, but I like their interactions in general just for what they are, platonic or otherwise. Her relationship with Papalymo was, of course, such a defining one for her.

Favorite headcanon

As seems to be the trend, it’s more relevant to my WoL than solely about Lyse, but like I wrote above I loved her and Ahru just generally being BFF’s and training or getting into mischief.

Final Fantasy XIV Questionnaire!

1. Favorite Primal/Trial

I really like Sophia (even tho I haven’t actually done that fight yet........) I love her theme and her golden aesthetic. I...kind of wish she dropped a bonus mount that was the disembodied head and we can zoom around standing on it. My other favorite is Ramuh! I like his fight a lot and I find the idea of tempered sylphs growing bushy beards extremely funny.

2. Least liked Primal/Trial

I don’t really like Sephirot’s design, since he looks too much like Titan to me. As for a primal trial, I love Ravana but I don’t like his fight since I never had a single df group with him that didn’t go pear-shaped. The two I remember that stood out was my first time fighting him, in which we ended up with four (!!!) swords and that one time I ran it with Rivienne that had a smn with titan egi and aggro was bouncing between both tanks and titan egi.

3. Favorite Dungeon

Lost City of Amdapor HM and Hullbreaker HM are tied for my favorites! I love Amdapor and I love all the lore you can find in there, and Lost City HM somehow made Amdapor even prettier than before. Hullbreaker HM is kind of a bore to run through, but I love Limsa and I love Maelstrom so fighting all those npcs made it super fun!

4. Least liked Dungeon

Sohm Al HM!!! I hate cave crawling and I hate the bosses. Also Dzemael Darkhold, for the reasons above, and because it’s stupid long.

5. Favorite Race

Au Ra of course. I love the lizards.

6. Favorite City/or location

Limsa Lominsa is my favorite city-state and Aleport is my favorite town. My favorite locations are Lower La Noscea, Western Thanalan, and the Churning Mists!

7. Favorite NPC

Oh gosh I have a whole bunch I really like a lot. I have stupid crushes on Yugiri and Riol, and my fave Scions are Y’shtola, Yda, and Minfilia. Favorite class trainers are Jacke and V’kebbe, and favorite job trainer is Widargelt.

8. Least liked NPC

I don’t care for Silvairre.

9. Favorite Mount

Adamantoise!

10. Favorite Unpopular BGM

Fleeting Rays and Saltswept.

11. Favorite Tribe

The vath! They are so cute ;w;

12. Favorite Antagonist

Now that I’ve finished crystal tower on chakha I have a newfound appreciation for how much of a shit Nero is.
