i love this story, i love the history inspiration, i loooove the artwork, right now i especially love to see these characters grow. i love seeing the different directions their character arcs are taking them and at what stages they are in their personal development and that all characters get exposition, i love to see what events are impacting which characters which way, i love the lore, i love the gore and the intensity and that so many characters die dramatically (though at some point my heart might need a break), i fucking love everything about this manga right now and i am so glad that i am barely a third of the way through

#if it doesn't get better within the next few chapters #i'll have to stop #the beginnings might have been rough sailing for me #but i feel like also the maga itself improved #like the nakedness seems more balanced now #and not as a means to solely sexualise a woman/prepubescent girl #it all seems more balanced #tbh i've been thinking this for a while #maybe i haven't read enough manga and naruto has been part of my life for 13 years now #and so i only have naruto in my head #but even though jigokuraku is a completely different story #i kind of think that this is what naruto could have been if naruto were good #i feel like certain aspects of naruto that i had loved are present in this manga but so much better #and the female characters are well-written thank god #remember that part in my post (i'll have to read through my post again) where i say ? well just then it did get better boy oh boy #though some part of me gripes a little at all the characters being insanely beautiful who look like nothing more than like 25 #but it's manga haha and really i don't mind thaat much
