ㅤfighting an indignant and immature retort to the comment that the words would be hard for them to pronounce, byan simply huffed, their gaze only leaving their nails when ardaka plopped down across from them. eyes lit up at the proposed exchange of painting his nails for learning a bit of slang and profanity, and a grin, crooked and toothy, spread across their lips. seemed like a fair trade to them, even though they'd happily paint his nails for free anytime — it was always more fun if they were getting something out of it, so how could they refuse?

ㅤㅤ" rrh... rhk... rhgrrr...? "ㅤokay, so maybe he wasn't kidding about the words being hard for them to pronounce. it sounded simple enough when he did it, but trying to mimic the sound themself, even with their best growl, proved to be a real challenge. it sounded like an awkward, butchered attempt at best, and a failed effort at copying an angry dog at worst. scrunching their face as they recognize their failure, byan breathed a laugh through their nose and grabbed for ardaka's fingers, leaning in to study his nails for a moment before glancing back to their tray of various polishes. they were going to just use the same shade of pink that they were in the middle of applying for themself, but he kind of had a lot of pinks going on already... not that there was such a thing as too much pink, in their mind, but a different colour would pop a lot better on him.

"ㅤan eyebrow raised, yet some part of them wasn't so surprised to hear that, just based on the small amount they'd already picked up on about kariians.ㅤ" i mean, i can't talk, i've started fights with people who've called me stupid, but there're a lotta worse things someone can say, if y'ask me. "ㅤa shrug, and they ran a finger along the tops of several bottles of nail polish before stopping at the deep shade of purple that they were after.ㅤ" —specific slang? i dunno. with curses, my fave t' ask about first is always fuck, but you kinda beat me to that punch. slang's so different across languages though, an' like, even more so across planets, i've been findin'. how 'bout... oh, i know — tell me your favourite slang word or phrase, how 'bout that? "
