heyss may i ask what inspired your onnie design? im really curious. ive seen it and from what ive gathered it looks as if onnie had no face besides from the eyes, orr that the rest of his face is blacked out (thats what i got from it at least)
I assume you mean the onnies from the drawing of him on the swing-tire, and possibly during the toddy and bon story-boarding thing i did.
I dont know if I’ve actually posted any drawings of him outside of those two instances, but yes. i have depicted him as faceless/ with his face obscured with darkness.
Nothing in partiiicular inspired this decision? My friend dis it first and i just stole his thing,
These! Are. That is not his current self!
Now, what do i mean by that? Uh, okay so in me and my friends AU for fnafhs, Onnie, Malva (Usagi, we renamed her) and Bon are all siblings. Onnie was the oldest.
Both his home and school life were rough as hell, and it all comes to a boiling point where shit happens and he runs off until he finds the nightmares. (Grossly summerized)
Anyways, that version of him I’ve drawn, is how he looked when he was living with Malva and Bon. That what people remebered him looking like. His head was down, his hair a choppy mess, always in his face casting a shadow over his eyes.
Though i will say, that dark face is not a representation of shadow, that would just be on the eyes and features of his would like the mouth and nose still be visible. The darkness is both just because it looks pretty cool, but also because people like Toddy (a long time family friend of them all) Malva and Bon all hardly remember his face. Its been four years since he left, and in the years leadings ip to before he ran away, his face was pretty obscured.
The only thing they remember with burning clarity is how his eyes looked.
Tumblr media
Long story short: mostly just looks really cool, his face is a faint memory.
Also fun fact: all the characters are part animals, and have a variety of animal traits that may ir may not present themselves. Much as Malva and Bon having human ears, and Onnie having rabbit ears.

RedState Weekly Briefing: Elon Whiffs, Fani Flails, Takei and Sharpton Step in It
Tumblr media
Welcome to the RedState Weekly Briefing  — where we take a quick look at the week’s most viewed stories in case you missed any of them. Grab a cup of coffee or hot toddy to help ward off the late winter blues, and sit down with this 21st Century Weekend Edition of your favorite (online) publication!
#1 - Punishment for 'Misgendering' Returns to X, Elon Musk's Response Doesn't Go Well
Accounts that "purposely use different pronouns to address someone other than what the person uses for themselves" will now have their visibility and reach limited. In other words, they will be shadowbanned, a popular practice under the Twitter regime. The resurrected rule is extremely broad as well, with X stating that it will go to the "target" to decide someone's fate. That would seem ripe for abuse, as anyone could claim they were misgendered in an attempt to take down an account they don't like.  Musk did respond to Raichik's post, claiming that the rule will only be enforced against those who purposefully and repeatedly target others with the "wrong" pronouns. People in the replies weren't happy with his dismissiveness and lack of a real explanation.
Tumblr media
#2 - Star Trek's George Takei's Twisted Response to Illegal's Alleged Murder of Nursing Student Does in Dems
First of all, Johnson didn't "smear" anyone -- he offered support to the family of the murdered woman. He also called on Biden to enforce the law. That to a Democrat like Takei apparently is "evil," which tells you everything you need to know about why we have this problem at the border with Democrats in power. This is the kind of attitude they've had for three years.  Second, nowhere in Takei's post is there any concern or sympathy for the murdered girl or her family. Instead, he tries to make Johnson's post about race and himself. It isn't about race or Takei, it's about the people being hurt by these policies.
Tumblr media
#3 - Fani Willis Files Desperate Effort to Counter New Cellphone Data, but It's a Big Dud
Instead, as lawyer Technofog explains, Willis submitted calendar entries for other dates, not the above dates.  Willis claimed in the filing that the data "did not prove anything relevant" and had "little evidentiary value." She's the only one who thinks so.  When Trump attorney Steve Sadow was questioning Wade during the hearing, he asked him specifically about visiting the Hapewell address and Wade stepped right into it.
Tumblr media
#4 - Al Sharpton Hears About It After Telling Black Trump Supporters They Have 'No Shame'
It's one of the clearest-cut examples of Democrat privilege you'll ever find. Writing about Sharpton saying something stupid or offensive is a bit like a dog bites man story, but sometimes it deserves calling out, which brings us to the latest instance. On a recent broadcast of his MSNBC show "Politics Nation," Sharpton went on a rant about Trump's comments in South Carolina from Friday about black voters allegedly embracing him in part because of his viral mugshot. Sharpton proclaimed it was part of a pattern of remarks from Trump and his surrogates that, in Sharpton's view, should offend and alienate black voters. "And those blacks that are standing there with him, have you no shame?" he asked toward the end of the segment.
Tumblr media
#5 - Here Are More of Those Texts That Made Terrence Bradley Say 'Oh, Dang,' and More Bad News for Fani Willis
Bradley even provided the name of the person who testified that the relationship began before Wade was hired, Robin Yearttie. You can read more of the texts on X here. But during his testimony, he claimed he was "speculating" and didn't know, despite the extensive conversations on the matter with Merchant.  That's when Trump attorney Steve Sadow just leveled him, given all he had discussed with Merchant.

16/08/2020-Earnley Triangle and Wheatear and more at the oysterbeds, Hayling Island: Photos I took in this set different to the ones I tweeted
On another showery afternoon we headed to Earnley Triangle another new place for me this weekend on Hayling Island in response to a report of Pied Flycatchers there a bird I have still never seen. It seems like the year to see one with Black-throated Diver and Great Bustard my previous 2020 bird life ticks in January and February birds like the Pied Flycatcher ones I really ought to have seen or really tried to see over the years but hadn’t. We did not see one on a wander around the triangle grassy area here today with nice trees for them. I wonder if this is gonna be my Wryneck of 2020 - the bird in 2019 I still hadn’t seen but everything ramped up that late summer/into autumn we went for nearly every bird reported in Hampshire some unsuccessful then eventually we did manage to see one in a moment of magic at Hill Head in October. Pied Flycatcher cuts a similar stature of a bird I want to see in my life now.
At Earnley Triangle we saw you could get great views of Chichester Harbour where I haven’t been since Boxing Day 2017. On a similar day to that bank holiday it was nice to take this in as the rain as forecast just about began to clear here. I took the first three pictures in this photoset of views at this place today. In this little triangle it’s a great bit of grassy habitat forming an oasis in an urban area and I saw some nice birds and butterflies as my wildlife sightings summary shows for toddy below.
We then headed to the oyster beds/start of the billy line area one of our trusted and loved regular places on Hayling Island to watch birds etc and take photos where we hadn’t been since March, via a toilet stop at a car park that we looked for a Black Redstart (fruitless, but we saw one later on at Sturt Pond last year and Portland and we saw one again at Portland this year on New Year’s Day) at on a very wet and windy day last year. But by contrast when there today the clouds had cleared rather presenting a bit of sun and a fair bit of blue sky. There were some nice cloud formations in the air so I got some nice landscape photo opportunities looking towards the Isle of Wight on the other side of the water and down the coast into Portsmouth. Two of the pictures I took here I tweeted but the other is the fourth picture in this photoset.
At the oysterbeds it was very nice to walk around seeing the sun truly come out and it turned into a lovely late afternoon into early evening. I took the fifth, sixth, eighth, ninth and tenth pictures in this photoset of some beautiful views at this lovely spot today. Some nice Common Terns were very visible from the near the billy line entrance and throughout the walk.
We walked on a bit though the gate area near to the lagoon and through the mudflats and we had mostly come here to try and see what was now our bogey bird for 2020 the Wheatear so the one we had still not seen which usually we see quite easily. This was because one had been reported but also because I recalled seeing and photographing one on the rocks here a similar time of year in 2015. So it was worth a try. Walking along we were delighted as my Mum saw a little bird flying and we both got the binoculars on it and could see it was a beautiful female Wheatear. We really then saw it well and made out it’s distinctive features. We got extensive binoculars views of this bird as it fitted in and out of the grass and rocks. There were some stunning moments watching it look truly exotic on the white rocks with the sun shining right on it. Like something you’d see on a brochure advertising birding holidays in Africa. I got the record shot the seventh picture in this photoset with my bridge camera of it.
I was so delighted to see this bird, 169th species of the year to mean my year list is outright my sixth highest ever only eight birds behind what I saw in all of 2014 now and very close to a 170 figure I always love to reach if I can in a year and whilst 30 behind what I finished on last year exactly I would have dreamt of as a total when the pandemic hit and the restrictions were required for the good of us all. Still gotta get there of course. It means I have seen my bogey bird for the year much earlier than last year when I saw my first Slavonian Grebe of 2019 on Christmas Day but somewhat later than the moment I finally saw them in 2016, 2017 and 2018 (The bogey birds Red Kite, Dartford Wabrler and Peregrine Falcon all favourites of mine now). I knew this was one I could only see over the summer or early autumn when they are around here so we had to rather get cracking with it and what a relief it was to finally see the Wheatear this year. And I was reminded what a stunning bird they really are.
As we walked back and scanned the grass area shown in the eighth and ninth pictures where we had seen Whinchats before another of my targets this year now to no avail we were treated to glorious views of two young Buzzards flying around and in trees. Their wingspans looked massive as they flew over it really was quite a sight to behold and I loved seeing them in the sunshine. I produced a picture of only one and only one picture so I tweeted that on my Twitter Dans_Pictures if you’re interested. This brought to an end well another varied and interesting day. It’s been a fun and packed weekend with some lovely wildlife moments. Thanks for sharing it with me, I can’t wait to see what the wildlife/photography snippets of my week ahead brings and of course as I mentioned in my post earlier today a trip away to Devon for a long weekend beginning on Friday. I hope you all stay safe and well and have a great week.
Wildlife Sightings Summary: Earnley Triangle: One of my favourite birds the Great Spotted Woodpecker, Starling, House Sparrow, Long-tailed Tit, Willow Warbler, Blackbird, Collared Dove, Herring Gull, Redshank, Peacock, Comma and a little moth. The oysterbeds: My first Wheatear of the year, two of my favourite birds the Buzzard and Great Crested Grebe, Redshank, Black-tailed Godwit, Oystercatcher, Cormorant, Mute Swan, Common Tern, Black-headed Gull, Herring Gull, Magpie, Woodpigeon, Starling, Robin, Stonechat, lots of nice Whitethroats, Rabbit, wasp and another butterfly I could not quite see what it flew so fast.
When home this evening I finally photographed the lovely Yellow Shell moth that has been in our house since Friday when it flew in and I tweeted that one too an amazing few days of moths for me.

My Experience at a Virtual Sundance
Tumblr media
My experiences at the Sundance Festival Village, Artist Lounge, Film Party, and other events and talks at this year's Sundance Film Festival were engaging and fun. The concept of the virtual world of this year's Sundance was constructed to reimagine what it would be like to walk down Main Street with all of the other people that you would see in a real-life setting, including some special guest stars. The Festivals physics almost reminded me of an early version of Roblox where using your arrow keys, you control your third-person avatar that resembles a human. This movement allowed me to explore places like the Film Party Space enough to get an experience out of it.
While moving through the virtual space, It was interesting to hear and discuss different topics related to Sundance with other online people. I talked a good bit about the film Emergency with another virtual Sundance participant, who turned out to be incredibly interesting. However, I did not end up doing a full-on interview with him. However, one disappointment: even after writing this blog post, I am still in the process of trying to find that secret karaoke room that everyone in my class is hyping up.
The other free virtual events and talks at this year's Festival were especially interesting because they helped me learn more about not just the film I was watching but also the director and their film-making method. When watching these films, It is very easy to forget that they were made through a slow and complex process because you only see the final collective work. However, the interviews helped shed more light on film production by giving details from behind the scenes.
For example, the film Fresh (2022) was fascinating to watch but especially interesting to look further via the interviews. This particular Sundance film is about how the main character Noa is out looking for a good man and "Frustrated by scrolling dating apps only to end up on lame, tedious dates… takes a chance by giving her number to the awkwardly charming Steve after a produce-section meet-cute at the grocery store." From there, this seemingly romantic comedy gives twists to the point that you feel like you are seeing the genetically modified child of every 90's romantic comedy combined with a bit of Sweeny Toddy (2007) and a splash of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1941).
As intriguing of a plot, it was interesting to hear about how much improvisation went into making these scenes. Sebastian Stan reflected on his character (Steve), which drew him to the script, and he saw the role as an "opportunity to deconstruct this knight in shining armor concept… that we all sort of grow-up with". He was referring to the one that we consistently see in movies, cartoons, and narratives that display the perfect guy with no visible flaws who comes in to save the day.
The use of audience-themed questions and answers was a great addition to the virtual Festival. I thought it further connected the directors and actors to their audience and helped foster a better understanding of the unique perspectives that went into the film's creation. However, to enjoy these tête-à-tête, remember to get there early to have your question answered first. Overall, even though there were better alternatives under different circumstances, as in an in-person Sundance, I still had fun with the virtual setting and was able to get many exciting and informative moments out of it.

Review: Brood Nitro
Activate the Nitro!
The warmer months approach and simultaneously the desire to reach for a frosty cold beverage increases.  Yet the need to consume scrumptious specialty coffee is still high. Such a quandary! Cold drip and cold brew coffees have stepped in to help fill this void over the years, but now a new iteration of chilled coffee is slowly jockeying for pole position in the Summer Caffeine Cup. Nitro Cold Brew coffee has been around for a while now, more so outside of Australia, but has not yet become a staple of coffee menus in Oz.
But first, what exactly is Nitro Cold Brew?
Put simply Nitro cold brew coffee is a cold brew coffee charged with nitrogen in order to give it a rich, creamy head, like that of a Guinness. The reason behind this textural phenomenon is that the nitrogen bubbles are smaller in size than those of commonly used carbon dioxide, resulting in subtly carbonated beverage with a thicker, velvety mouthfeel.
Introducing the Brood.
Getting into the brewing fun traditionally requires some thoughtful hardware and bench setup.  Tap installations into counter tops, kegs, nitrogen tanks and regulators to name but a few. Little experience or brewing knowledge coupled with these tricky equipment requirements have created a barrier to entry to creating delicious concoctions in house. Barriers be gone, the time is now!
One exciting innovation making the setup a lot more convenient is the Nitro V2PX from Brood. The V2PX draws pre prepared cold brew coffee from any container, keg, or bag-in-a-box, chills it instantly, then infuses the coffee with nitrogen, making fridges and gas cylinders non-essential. But, how are you doing all that V2PX?
The nitrogen used is extracted from the air via a compressor (and magic) and is pressured into the cold brew line via a series of valves, leaving our old mate oxygen (as well as argon and carbon dioxide) behind to go find something else to bond with. Because of this, the V2PX produces unlimited nitro coffee for as long as you need it, without the hassle of replacing tanks or monitoring pressure regulators. As long as you have air and coffee, those brews will keep on flowing. The twin tap variant also offers a straight chilled line, allowing you to serve the same coffee chilled OR chilled with Nitro! The portability of the unit is also a superb benefit, allowing you to set up anywhere on a bar or pop up at an event to serve out some sumptuous coffee with a twist in minutes.
Setting the right Brood.
So how do I best set one up?
Where to ideally place the Brood Nitro really does depend a lot on each venue.  In some spaces, positioning the unit behind the barista steaming milk will be perfect as the taps will still be visible to the customer and the dispenser is close to the nearest serve out point in your bar.  The dream here is to serve this chilled coffee out while it is still cascading and settling for maximum visual appeal.
You will want to create that ‘I’ll have what she’s having’ response in all your customers. This positioning also allows easy access for dispensing by front of house team members to pour drinks during busy service. Next to the till is also a superb option coupled with some highly recommend ‘What’s on tap’ signage so your customers can see what’s pouring and commence salivating.
Ideally position the Brood Nitro on a sturdy bench with access to a small circular 50mm hole, located near the rear of the unit. This allows your power plug and inlet hosing to drop below the counter into your cold brew vessel (keg) or connect to your bag in box bladder (bags and adapter supplied).  These containers filled with your pre prepared brew will need to be positioned directly under the machine and no further than 1 meter away otherwise the internal pump won’t be able to draw adequately. Just make sure there is appropriate ventilation around the unit, particularly the side vents, as the V2PX sends out some heat, much like a fridge, when it’s in use frequently. See picture provided.
Brood detailed Specs
Once up and running you will have control over temperature (as low as 2⁰ Celsius) and nitro texture density via a series on discreet dials. Nitro systems go!
Brewing for Nitro.
Oh wait, you will need some delicious brew to put through the unit, right? The Toddy brewing systems are a great starting point and getting a few of the 2-litre versions will allow you to get brewing and experimenting quickly. As you start to hone into your preferred recipes, you’ll likely want to step up in production scale to the awesome Brewrista Pro 20 Litre system.
Here are a couple of great guides to get you going.
For more information on cold brew coffee, check out: It’s Called Cold Brew
For a handy, downloadable brew guide, head here: Cold Brew Guide
As with all recipes these are a great starting point but need not be the end of the creative process, as you will need to tweak it to what coffee you are using and personal preference. While a 1:10 coffee to water ratio is often great for cold brewing, for the nitro recipe it often is needed to be a little more concentrated at a 1:8 or even as low as a 1:4 ratio to help provide the desired strength to sit with the creamier texture.
Introducing to your customers.
Well you have now done all the hard work setting up your bar and produced countless batches during your recipe testing to hone in on the perfect iteration of your chilled coffee goodness. Time to share!
As suggested earlier, signage around the unit itself is essential for doing some of the talking for you regarding what’s pouring today. Samples are also encouraged initially. It’s ready to go in a quick serve format so as this will be many folks first taste of a Nitro coffee alternative, popping a tiny taster in their exited hands can be enough to get the decision-making wheels moving and ordering a round for the table.
The right glassware will also do this for you. The first taste is with often with the eyes, so selecting an appealing clear glass to show off those cascading visuals will do wonders to presell to patrons already in your venue. Serviceware with a nice straight wall is ideal, as this makes it easier to pour into and allows the bubbles to move freely up the glass in order to create that smooth textured head on the drink. A Tom Collins glass is perfect for larger serves or perhaps stick to the Old-Fashioned glass for something smaller and classy.
The beauty of the Brood is it does offer up numerous ‘flight tasting’ opportunities with endless variations on espresso, long blacks, batch brew, cold brew and nitro now on hand, you are sure to land on some exciting combinations.
While serving a super clean and complex washed Ethiopian cold brew is always a favourite of ours and thoroughly recommended, don’t be afraid to add a little extra something to the brew to spice things up. As an example, by adding a dash (2%) of apricot nectar reduction followed by a splash of ginger beer (3%) it can create an exciting twist to your coffee while enhancing that sense of summer freshness. We affectionately named this one the ‘Ginger Snap. Or why not try our current favourite, a ‘Nitrogato’ poured directly over ice cream…no explanation needed! Coffee should still be the champion of the beverage, so with any recipe development only add a tiny amount of extras to begin with: it’s very hard to take them out once they are in!
These creative takes on the classics will help keep your coffee offering fun, seasonal and fresh while adding a unique point of difference to keep your loyal customers coming back to see what new exciting brew is next on the tap.
Happy Brewing!

Glacier National Park & Livingston, Montana
Glacier National Park
& Livingston, Montana
Saturday - Sunday, August 11 -12, 2018
Smoky, 82°
“Before Alaska came along and ruined everything, one of every twenty-five square miles in America was Montanan.  This much space has nurtured a healthy Cult of Place in which people find perfection, even divinity in the landscape.” (Ellen Meloy)
Saturday - Before leaving the Golf Course RV Park, laundry was done, oil added to the RV and in about an hour we would be at the border crossing on Highway 93 in Roosville, Montana.  Border crossings can be fun or a little annoying depending on how crowded or the moods of the border patrol officers working at the time.
This little back road entry into the United States was not crowded but watching the vehicle in front go through the passport procedure gave a little hint as what was to come.  The couple in the car in front of the RV, after giving their passports to the patrol officer, was asked to get out of their vehicle and go inside for further examination.  After several minutes, the man came out and moved his vehicle so we could pass through.
The patrol officer asked the usual questions, “How long have you been in Canada?”  “Do you have more than ten thousand dollars in the vehicle?”  Are you carrying any fruits, vegetables, or other agricultural products?”  The answers were, “about a week, I wish I had ten grand, and no.”  The officer explained that the couple in front was pulled inside for a random inspection but since they had other issues the random inspection would go to the RV instead.
He took the passports; off inside we went and after about 10 minutes another officer came over and would go out to the RV to inspect it.  I had put a bundle of firewood in the shower to keep it dry and looking at the border crossing from Alaska into Canada there was about a cord of fire wood in “camping bundles” off to the side so I figured this time the firewood would be grabbed up by the officer.  He came aboard, looked into the refrigerator and found two and a half lemons there.  This was forbidden fruit, even though it was purchased in Alaska, he had to confiscate it.  Oh no, contraband being brought in the United States.  They were bought to help my throat irritation from all the fire smoke.  Lemon and honey plus maybe some Jim Beam to help soothe that crappy feeling over the last several months was what the hot toddy was going to be used for.
After the identity check and confiscation of the wayward fruit we were allowed to enter the USA!
Welcome to the USA Sign - Simple but True
It was about time after this forty five minute pause in the drive.  Down the road a way was the beautiful little community of Whitefish.  There were several deer grazing in people’s yards and the road through town was filled with people doing their Saturday chores.  The town has a rustic feel to it, much like Jackson, Wyoming, with its old style buildings.  There was a fire truck with firemen collecting money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association for the upcoming Labor Day drive.  This would be another beautiful place to live with a population of only about 6,500 people.
We were heading to Glacier National Park to Apgar campground, a first come, first served facility which fills up quickly each morning.  Arriving just at eleven o’clock the board at the Park’s entrance still showed campsites available.
 Glacier National Park Sign
It took only a couple minutes to drive into the campground but the camp host said that the last spot was just taken minutes ago so there was no room anywhere in Glacier National Park to spend the night.  The smoke was really bad and we could only see Lake McDonald through a fuzzy bluish-white haze.  The mountains with the glaciers were not visible and were covered by the smoke that drifted everywhere.  It was lunch time so a picnic by the lake was in order.  After lunch, a drive along the lake revealed a black bear and several deer wandering the campground.
 Deer in Campground
It would have been nice to spend the night but it was time to head toward the next bucket list place and cut down on some of that drive tomorrow.  Heading out from Glacier was Flathead Lake where I wanted to drive along the west side on a major highway south.  Missing a turn somewhere, we ended up on a small country road on the east side of the lake.  This whole area was filled with cherry groves and small roadside stands selling fresh, off the tree cherries.  Another unexpected find and the cherries were great, large Rainier cherries.
South on highway 93 was the National Bison Range, it was debated whether to turn down an old dirt road to see if there were any bison but decided not to as there were still many miles to go.  Where the highway hits the town of Ravalli, coming over the hill and down a long incline were several herds of bison off to the west.
 Bison off the roadway
It was another pretty amazing sight, seeing these ancient animals grazing or waddling in the dirt.  It would be several more hours before stopping for the night in a small town called Deer Lodge, Montana.
The city is perhaps best known as the home of the Montana State Prison, a major local employer.  The Montana State Hospital in Warm Springs, and former state tuberculosis sanitarium in nearby Galen are the result of the power the western part of the state held over Montana at statehood due to the copper and mineral wealth in that area.  Deer Lodge was also once an important railroad town, serving as a division headquarters for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad ("the Milwaukee Road") before the railroad's local abandonment in 1980.
The current Montana State Prison occupies a campus 3.5 miles west of town.  The former prison site, at the south end of Deer Lodge's Main Street, is now the Old Prison Museum.  In addition to a former cell-block building, the museum complex includes a theater, antique and automobile museums, and a former Milwaukee Road "Little Joe" electric locomotive.
Deer Lodge is also the location of Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site, dedicated to the interpretation of the frontier cattle ranching era.  This site was the home of Conrad Kohrs, one of the famous "Cattle Kings" of Montana whose land holdings once stretched over a million acres of Montana, Wyoming, and Alberta, Canada.  The Grant-Kohrs ranch was built in 1862 by Johnny Grant, a Scottish/French/Metis fur-trader and trapper who encouraged his people to settle in Deer Lodge because of its pleasant climate and large areas of bunch grass prairie, ideal for raising cattle and horses.  The city's name derives from a geological formation known as Warm Springs Mound which contained natural saline that made for a natural salt lick for the local deer population; the protected valley in which Deer Lodge is located was where most of the local wildlife would winter as the temperatures lowered in the high country. (Wikipedia)
We pulled into the small KOA campground as the sun was setting.  It cast a warm, red glow on the western horizon toward Warm Springs Mound.  The other campers were sitting by their fires but after the long day of driving, it was time for dinner and off for some much needed sleep.
Sunday – It would be another long day driving across Montana.   As I was doing my routine of disconnecting the water, power, and sewer, I saw that the thread was showing on the driver side front tire.  This was not good as there have been over 18,000 miles on this trip and whatever was on the tires when the RV was purchased.  It is Sunday morning, in the middle of nowhere USA, and all of the tire stores are closed today.
It was only about fifty or sixty miles to Butte, so hopefully, we could find something open on a Sunday and replace the tire.  It was a slow careful drive into Butte and hopefully, this Montana town would have something open.  There was a large Walmart with an automotive section that was open so we spent the day there getting two new front tires.  The young guy helping check me in looked at the tires, said the rig was out of alignment causing the excessive ware on one side of the tires.  He had replacement tires but thought he would have to put the new tires on the rear of the RV and swap out the rear ones to the front.  After checking, he decided to put the new ones on the front since the rear wheels have dual tires on each side.
It was going to take several hours to get to the RV ready so it gave us an opportunity to buy groceries, get a pedicure, and hang out for lunch while the vehicle was being readied.  One stop shopping for all your needs at Walmart.  There were even a couple of overnight campers Boondocking in the parking lot.  It was about four in the afternoon when the tire change was finished.  Finally, it was time to hit the highway towards Bozeman and another “hot springs” campground.
Calling ahead, we found the campground was full so it was time to adapt, overcome the obstacle and find another campground for the night.  On a previous trip, I remembered another KOA campground just past Livingston, Montana on the way to the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park.  So, it was time to drive there for the night.
While driving towards Livingston, I remembered a dream from the night before.  It was weird and funny and came to me out of nowhere.  I was checking into a camp ground and the camp host was “Jerry Lewis”.  He was the airline pilot, “Captain Eddie” from “The Family Jewels” complete with the funny looking mustache.  After getting set up at the campsite another “Jerry” came by to show me how to start a campfire.  This one was “Skylock”, the Sherlock Holmes style detective with glasses and bushy mustache.  He went around placing kindling and haphazardly threw logs in the fire pit.  Once that was done, he threw gasoline all over the logs and lit it causing a huge explosion and fire.  His eyebrows and mustache were singed off as he excitedly said what a great fire he started.  I’m not sure what brought this dream on but could only figure that driving through Whitefish, seeing the fireman with the MDA boot must have triggered something from long ago.
We checked in just before sundown.  While taking a walk, I started up a conversation with another veteran staying there.  He and his wife were staying in one of the “Kamping Kabins®” that KOA offers.  They were with another couple riding their motorcycles through Yellowstone and that part of Montana.  Each year, they pick a place and do a road trip.  They camp in the cabins and ride each day to see what the area has to offer.  A walk down to the Yellowstone River as the sun was setting was a nice way to end another day on the road while Traveling Life’s Highways.

Road Trip to the Midwest
Tumblr media
Day 1, Sat 12/2- Venice, CA—> Tucson, AZ:
We packed up the rest of our little hut (thankfully most of it was done the day before), and magically all of our stuff fit into the Highlander! We even have 6 inches to spare on the top, which gives us plenty of visibility. We left at 8:45am, and the drive to Tucson is 496 miles, or 7.5 hours. The scenery was mostly mountains & deserts, but we were grateful that there was no traffic. We switched off between music and “The Emperor of All Maladies” on tape, but the latter had us both very sleepy... we arrived to Nana & Papa Lautmann’s right at cocktail hour, and were greeted with hugs and gin and tonics. They made a delicious lamb chop dinner and we cheered on their Arizona college basketball team.
Tumblr media
Day 2, Sun 12/3- AZ:
We had an amazing breakfast at Nana & Papa’s country club, followed by a fatttt nap for Annette (2+hrs?!). I fixed all of my grandparent’s technology difficulties & cheered on my Packers. We had a fun, competitive round of mini-golf, which everyone participated in, including their dog, Sassy. We enjoyed another cocktail hour at their house and then ate our weight in Mexican food & margaritas at their local restaurant.
Tumblr media
Day 3, Mon 12/4- AZ—> Las Cruces, NM:
One more home cooked meal from the grandparents, and we said our goodbyes! Always so sad to say bye to those two <3 Next up is Las Cruces: 292 miles, or 4.5 hours. Our Airbnb was far from being in any “historic downtown”, but it was a roof over our heads. We spent our evening at the movie theater, seeing not one, but 2 movies (Bad Mom’s Christmas & Thor). Dinner at Sonic was our only option before hitting the hay.
Tumblr media
Day 4, Tues 12/5 - Las Cruces —> Fredericksburg, TX:
We hopped on the road for our longest drive of the road-trip thus far— 544 miles, or 8 hours. You’d think we had a small child with us, judging on how many bathroom breaks we took. We drove straight thru Fredericksburg to reach our (Annette’s) desired destination: Luckenbach, TX. This tiny dancehall plays a role in country music history, and we thoroughly enjoyed a few beers next to the fire while listening to 5 local cowboys play their guitars and sing. Only a couple of restaurants were open passed 7pm, so our pick to eat at Otto’s German Restaurant was simple. We had delicious bratwursts and veil. Once we got to our bed & breakfast, we were welcomed with a bottle of wine, which was the perfect end to our night.

Day 5, Wed 12/6 - TX —> New Orleans, LA:
We decided to have one more German meal and stopped by the local breakfast joint for an omelette & potato pancakes. Today is our longest leg of the journey— 584 miles, or 9 hours. The driving conditions are less than ideal, and the rain hasn’t let up for a moment. We finally reached our destination, and left our car parked in a lot for the next 2 days. It wasn’t pretty lugging all of our stuff in the freezing cold rain for the 0.4 miles to our Airbnb. Our apartment couldn’t have been cuter! Such a good find in central NOLA. We had a quick turn around and saw a bit of Bourbon street (which had a ton of construction unfortunately) on our walk to our dinner restaurant, Curio. The carpaccio, mussels, ribs, & ribeye were absolutely amazing. We ended our night at 21st Amendment, a cute speakeasy with a very talented jazz band.
Day 6, Thurs 12/7 - NOLA:
We woke up, and what do you know, it was still raining outside. We didn’t let that slow us down though... in fact the cold, wet weather actually lead to a very fun day-drinking day (we’re on vacation, right?!). We started with brunch at Ruby Slippers, whose motto is “you can’t drink all day, if you don’t start in the morning!” Bloody Mary’s and eggs Benedict’s filled our bellies. We checked out the New Orleans Musical Legend’s Park, where we sat outdoors under a heater and Annette made DIY Hot Toddies for us (had to purchase hot teas separately from the bourbon shots). We wandered down Bourbon street and our ears lead us to our next bar, Bourbon Bandstand. Hours passed by while we listened to a fun Blue’s Band, Doc Lovett’s Louisiana Remedy, and took advantage of the 2-for-1 beers. We bar hopped a bit more, trying to soak in all of the amazing talent. Maison Bourbon had a great band and atmosphere. We finally ventured over to Frenchman street and listened to some good tunes at The Spotted Cat. Before we knew it, 11 hours had passed from our first cocktail and meal, and we decided food would be a good call. Dinner at Three Muses was a great end to our night, and we’d highly recommend the bacon dates & the lamb burger sliders!

Day 7, 12/8- NOLA —> Nashville, TN
It wouldn’t be a full New Orleans experience if Annette didn’t try a famous Cafe Du Monde Beignet! We picked up breakfast to-go and hit the road. Next stop, Nashville: 530 miles, or 7.5 hours. Our “Penthouse suite” resembled a college dorm, but the 2 bathrooms/2 bedrooms was key because we had a visitor joining us.... Anna Lautmann (Sam’s older sister)!! A quick turn around and then out the door we were, hoping to soak in as much live music as possible in our quick 36 hour trip. Our first Nashville Uber driver casually dropped that she was Taylor Swift’s middle school Spanish teacher?! Hmm hard to fact check that one, but it got us excited to see who else we may meet in this little town. We started off at Acme Feed & Seed for some dinner & tunes. The rest of the night we wandered down Broadway, drinking beers, tasting moonshine, trying to line dance, and acting like every band’s #1 groupies.
Day 8, 12/9 - Nashville:
“Sleep when you’re dead” is what Anna repeatedly told me as she shook me awake. She wasn’t trying to waste a single moment, and even though only 4hours had gone by since we went to sleep, we were out the door for day 2. Luckily she wasn’t as psycho as to wake Annette up so aggressively, so she met us at our brunch destination, Tavern. The 2-for-1 bloody Mary’s & Mimosas kept us content there for a while. Next we checked out the Country Music Hall of Fame. Back to bar hopping we went, and we came across the most talented band we’ve seen yet at Tootsies. Parker Willingham and Angela Marie.

Day 9, 12/10 - Chicago:
We couldn't leave Nashville without any gifts, so we hit up the Johnny Cash Museum. We also couldn't leave Nashville without brunch, so Sun Diner it was.
About 7 hours later, 477 miles, we arrived in Chicago.

@multishipper-baby @thedumbestfuckingpersonyouvemet
you guys both mentioned the background so uh lol hi. btw do tell me to stop @/ing you guys if you dont want me to do that :3
Anyways I'm glad that you noticed the bg! i actually did that first before toddy. Sorta as a warm up, just blocking in shapes of characters. First it was gonna all be silhouettes like the screenshot, it then i started having fun setting up a genuine scene. Having them all "doing their own thing" as characters with names faces rather than blank slates was very fun.
Just the filling in of a void. Having messy blocked in characters with juuuust enough detail to be recognizable was satisfying to do.
Tumblr media
I did, I jrook the original bg, coppied the mos visible half and then flipped it over to cover more of original toddy, then started "painting" over it with blocky shapes. Again, it was originally gonna be shillouettes like the og, but i suddently started making em the cast lol. it makes me happy to hear that you like what i did with toddyyyy :3 I like making up styles for herrrr
Tumblr media
It might look like a lot of people, but its not everyone, far from it tbh lol. The toys, Town and Cami, Lilly, Golden and Puppet, Fox an Bonnie, Mai, Malva and Loon, our version of Felix, then two oc's. Based of lefty and ennard.
Tumblr media
Also yes, they all have animal features. Cami has antennae because shes a Praying Mantis, that is also why shes so damn tall. In the arthropod world Mantis are built all vertical which is very odd. In my friends words. They're freaks of nature /lighthearted. Anyways, This is why you will see us drawing her with things such as segmented limbs, green "blades" on her arms, and cool bug eyes. She has green surface blood.
Towns a lion, Lilly is a shark, a nurse shark specifically as a reference to Melanie Martinez since Lilly has that song that's a cover of Mrs Potato Head. (it was a process of just looking at Melanie's song titles names and looking up if any sharks had names with certain keywords.)
Joy is a duck, "isn't Chica a chicken though?" yeah. In the fnaf fanbase people confused Chica for a duck sometimes, though so! She's a duck. Chica herself is a chicken, though :3 Bon n Malva n Bonnie are rabbits (all to be determined what specific species)
Loon is your classic 7 spotted ladybug, complete with segmented limbs, antennae that's sprout from the back of her neck that aid in listening to very quiet sounds. He has yellow surface blood. Mangle is a fox (again, to be determined what subspecies.) You might notice that he is missing his tail though. Or, well. She has a little stub, which is why shes got the cane right now, Animals with Tails need those, mainly for balance.
Fox is your classic red fox.
Golden is an Andean/ spectacles bear, Mai n Pup are ring tailed lemurs. Lefty is Mai and Pups cousin, so she is an indri lemur.
Ennard is an amblypygi, also knows as a whip spider (don't be fooled its not a type of spider) Extra appendages for sensing things like vibrations Toddy, is a cinnamon bear, a sub species of black bear !!!!! "Felix" (Felicia now) is too be determined on her animal all together. We have too many fox's and bears and rabbits so were holding off on repeating those any more than we have to. Fede is still a bear (for now??) though because it satisfies me to complete the "main bear types". Polar bear. erm. anyways i love ranting abt our silly ass animal choiced i could do it till the end of time.
