Go After Your Dreams...
NEVER let people tell you that you are not good enough. If you have a goal and a dream, GO AFTER IT. Life is way to short to consciously know you are going to have regrets. DO NOT go to the grave thinking to yourself "I WISH"...
Look at me, I am a transgender woman who runs her own international school of martial arts, self defense and survival. I get hate, slander, prejudice and bigotry on all of my social media 24/7. Everyday I deal with hate. Not because of my skill in the arts, but because that I am a trans-woman. But the passion for achieving my goals with my teachings of the martial arts, is greater than the hate I receive. SO I KEEP GOING...
There is NO ONE in the world that studies NINJUTSU that does not know who I am. That does not mean they agree with me 100%, but what that does mean, is that I have touched the lives of people all over the world in an art that is dying with the advancement of technology as well as the decline in the importance of the "OLD WAYS".
Regardless of the rise of technology and the decline in tradition, I still do what I do. Because I have a passion for the old ways. I train my MIND-BODY-SPIRIT everyday pushing myself to the extreme to find a new level of balance and enlightenment in what Traditional Japanese Martial Arts calls: "The Way"...
WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE?
If you do not know your purpose, than do what you are passionate about and you will find your purpose. NO ONE WANTS TO GO TO THEIR GRAVE FORGOTTEN. If you know what you want, then go after it. You do not need to see the finish line, you just need to take a step. After you take that step, take another...
There will be times that things suck, and there will be times where things are great. Either way, you have to get your ass out of bed, get coffee, walk the dog and workout before you get your kids up and on the bus for school (example: my life).
Life is change, and one thing that I've always done is change direction when I needed to, to further my success, progress, dreams and happiness.
You have to be fearless and go for your dreams and achieve your happiness in life. It is your life and only you are the one responsible for your happiness and your success.
You only have so much time left, use it wisely.

Episode 624 - Andy Rodriguez
Andy Rodriguez is a Martial Arts practitioner and instructor as the Iwa Dojo - Delaware.
Being a family man helps me be a better teacher. You know, ebing a Karate teacher and practitioner helps me be a better family man, vice versa. They feed each other.
Andy Rodriguez - Episode 624
Andy Rodriguez is the Iwa Dojo of Delaware Chief Instructor for twenty years. The Iwa Dojo, is a progressive traditional school (non-commerical) of martial arts promoting a positive harmonious learning experience. Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate-do is the primary training focus. They also offer instruction, guidance, and training in Ryukyu Kobudo & Shindo Muso Ryu Jodo.
Andy Rodriguez was first exposed to martial arts in 1980 studying in American Kenpo, but it wasn't until 1984 that his passion for budo was fully ignited by Masaharu Sakimukai Soke when he began his Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate-Do training. During his Karate-Do training under the tutelage of Masaharu Sakimukai Soke and family, he was also introduced and studied Okinawan Kobudo and Shindo Muso Ryu Jodo up until 1994.
He continued his martial arts training studying Aikido with Zenko Okimura Shihan in 1997. Although his exposure with Okimura Shihan was brief, he was thankful for the experience and for the valuable lessons learned. In 2000, he furthered his training in Shindo Muso Ryu Jodo with the Rembukan dojo up until 2002. In April of 2002 he decided to open his own private dojo focusing on Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate-Do. In 2003 he requested and became accepted as a branch instructor under the Zentokukai up until 2010. In 2010 he reconnected with Sakimukai Soke and family, and was welcomed back to his original budo roots.
Andy Rodriguez credits Masaharu Sakimukai Soke and family for giving him a extremely strong foundation and passion for budo that continues today. He also is appreciative of Sensei Pizii and Sensei Lemus of the Zentokukai sharing training methods, Patrick McCarthy Hanshi of the Koryu Uchinadi Association for sharing the importance of two person training and the value of futari renzoku-geiko (two person flow drills), and Master Toby Cooling and instructors of the Order of Isshin Ryu for welcoming him in their extended family and sharing their impressive budo. Special thanks to Sensei Iain Abernathy's influence in our deeper understanding of bunkai. He is also very thankful to all Chintokan and Zentokukai instructors and members whom had an impact in furthering his budo development. He has been the chief instructor of the Iwa Dojo going on twenty years.
Andy Rodriguez is currently a branch instructor and member of the So Budo Kai under the guidance of Takako Sakimukai Hanshi and So Shihan.

GOD BLESS SENSEI: I Have Studied Aikido For Over Eight Years. I Want To Test For My Blue/Brown Belt Soon. I'm Nervous And Extremely Happy. Aiki Jujutsu Has Long History In Japan For 1000 Years Dating Back To War Lord Clan of Minomoto No Yoshimitsu (pbuh) And Even Before That With The Afro-Indian & Chinese Monks That Taught 'Dyana And Kung Fu/Taichi' (Zen & Kempo). About 500 Years Later The Minomoto Clan Murged With The Aizu And This Is Where 'Daito Ryu' Was Developed By The Descendants of The Takeda Family. ______________________________ Takeda Ryu Aiki Jujutsu Is A "Kobujutsu" (Kodo) or Based On Ancient Martial Ways Complete With Samurai & Shinobi Tatics. Koppo-jutsu (Yawara) Is A Older Term For Jujutsu. There Are Hundreds of Japanese Arts Based on the Principles of "Wa" "Ju" & "Aiki" Meaning Suppleness & Harmony. Takeda Ryu Teaches Ken-Jutsu (Sword), Tai-Jutsu (Empty Hand/Ju-Kempo ), Jo-Jutsu (Short Staff) Jutte-Jutsu (one sided Sai) Ba-Jutsu (Horse Back Riding) Shinobi-Jutsu (Espionage/Spy/Ninpo) Shuriken-Jutsu (Throwing Darts/Stars/Knives) ______________________________ I Want To Learn Naginata-Jutsu (Sword Pole) And The Chain Whip & Hook (Kusari-Jutsu). The Man In The Picture Is My Soke (Inherited Master) Great Grand Master; Soke Sokaku Takeda (pbuh) Who Taught My Grand Master O-Sensei Uyeshiba (pbuh) And Founder (Doshu) of Aikido. Who Taught Kochi Tohei (10 Degree Black Belt) And My Teacher Who Is 7th Degree Black Belt...Shihan Imaizumi of Shin Budo Kai Aikido. I'm Very Proud of My Dojo's Lineage And I Plan on Completing A Documentary About The Martial Arts As A Whole And There Importance In Building Up Man! 🇯🇵 🐉🐅 🐍 🐆🐓🌊 🔥 💨 🌎 ❤ 5 Animals x 5 Elements! ______________________________ #CaptainPlanet #TheVastDragon #AikiJujutsu #Budo #MartialArts #VastAireTheSumo #KungFu #Kempo

Perfect Your Craft
Many criticize solo training in the marital arts, when the reality is, it's one of the most crucial aspects of martial training. Just like in sports, athletes spend countless hours perfecting their craft by themselves to be able to compete against another... conditioning, striking, moving, use of weapons are just some of the skills covered in solo training. I have never met a master that does not spend more hours training solo, than with people. There are many reasons for this truth, which I will cover at a later date.
.
Many want to discuss the "correct way" to train in the arts, then explain the arts in a very limited/closed minded way. When they discuss the "correct way" it always comes off as something that can be defined with rules or strict specific structure, which the martial arts has none, and does not.
.
Many martial artist nowadays train in a very territorial limited view, and not really understanding the completeness of what they are doing. When you watch the news, and see the real threats that we have today, do you really think running into a school to do a takedown and an armbar is going to protect others? No... yet many will say that is the Ultimate Martial Arts when in fact it does nothing to protect against the threats we see in the modern world.
.
The skills of being able to get to your self defense tools quickly and efficiently is crucial, and that simple skill is also perfected and mastered with solo practice with you in the dojo or at the range.
.
Remember, you are the only one responsible for your success. You are the one that either can or cannot protect yourself and the ones that you love. You are the one that needs to do what you need to do to hone the skills that you have.
.
Remember, discipline is doing what needs to be done, even if you don't want to do it. Have you trained today? If it is possible that your life and maybe the lives of the ones you love depend on it.

Bend But Dont Break
Bend But Don’t Break | read in full... . No matter who you are, we all have a limit as to how far we will bend before we break. . It does not matter if it’s personal, private or professional, nor does it matter if it is family, friends and relationships. There is only so far you will go, so much you can give, and so much you can endure, before you break. . I am the person that will always give and be there for everyone. Even if that means putting me in a bad spot. I will always do my best to help anyone that I can. I would rather be the one that has to fight out of a hole, than see the ones that I love struggle. . Most people would never take a “loss” for anyone. Most will only help if there is a benefit to them, or they know there is a “get back”. This is not me and it will never be me. . They say service to others leads to greatness and humility is the solid foundation of all virtues. I believe this as well. Many things that seem threatening in the dark become welcoming when we shine light on them. . Part of humility is being able to take grief, pain, frustration, sadness and insecurity for those that you care about. We all have people in our life that we go out of our way to help and provide for. Instead of wondering if there is going to be a “get back”, focus on the reason why you help in the first place. Sometimes, life is like this dark tunnel, you can’t always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you just keep moving, you will come to a better place. . Yes, I realize that there are bad people who are very selfish and have no problem leading people on, and taking advantage of people. So yes, you should have a breaking point. However, all of us are searching to find balance in our lives. There is energy all around us. The Yin and Yang, both Positive & Negative Energy. For every negative there is a positive, if you are humble enough bend, let go of your ego and look. . Sometimes, the best way to solve your own problems is to help someone else solve theirs. Remember Ninpo is not about being better than anyone else. It is about being better than what you were yesterday. Learning how to be humble and taking time to help others is part Ninpo. . The only thing we have in this life is experiences and when your time is up, so are you. Remember to give, help, love, and provide a service to others. You will be surprised at how your life will change for the better. ♥
