Good afternoon guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! We want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who participated in our Guardian Auction over the weekend! From the looks of things, everyone had a wonderful time! Here at Brightwood Academy it is our goal, mission, and purpose to not only produce highly skilled and well trained Guardeds and Guardians, but to also assist the very same in finding their soulmate. As things heat up on campus, both with the weather and the personal relationships, we’ll be hosting more events to assist in finding and nurturing those precious bonds! 

That said, we’re here to announce our next event, taking place Saturday, May 1, 2021! This event, titled Sex & Candy, is sure to be fun for all involved. As adults, we should all be aware of the importance of sexual health, both when it comes to being safe, and when it comes to exploration in the bedroom. While sex is not and should not be a make or break topic in a relationship, it is and can be very important to building healthy and open relationships. So, we’re here to help break some stigmas, add some spice, inspire, and ultimately educate you all on this glorious topic. 

The Sex & Candy event will be a campus-wide day of workshops, held in various places around campus. These workshops will focus on any and everything sex, so come prepared! These workshops will be hands-on, interactive, and will require participation. Now, before anyone asks- no, we won’t require you to get your groove on in front of everyone else. But, there will be demonstrations, techniques to practice, and open and active Q&A sessions. Each workshop will last for about an hour, and the event itself will run from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Now, you will notice, when the schedule is posted (probably later tonight, possibly tomorrow depending on when I’m able to get it up- no pun intended) that two workshops will be running/offered at the same time. Each participant will have the ability to choose which of the two they’d like to attend with their partner, and each pair will attend as many workshops as they’d like on the day of the event. 

As I said, the workshops will cover a variety of topics, ranging from safe sex practices, sexual positions, toys in the bedroom, erotic massage, bondage, and everything in-between. Trust us when we say there will be something for everyone to enjoy, so you certainly won’t want to miss out! It is important to note that while participation in the event is not mandatory, if you are planning to participate, you will be required to sign up with a partner. Everyone who attends the event will be given a gift bag at the end of the day, containing a variety of fun, nifty items to help you put what you’ve learned during the workshops to use. In addition, several raffles will be held throughout the day, with a plethora of fun, hot, spicy prizes up for grabs. So, you’ll definitely want to make sure you pay attention to when those are occurring! 

What We Need from You: Sometime before FRIDAY, APRIL 30, please send who you are partnering with, as well as which workshops you’ll be attending, IN TO THE MAIN. Please wait to begin doing this until later tonight, after I have finished posting the schedules for the workshops.

Attention students,

The administration here at Brightwood are both proud and excited to see all of you, both new students and existing, for a new year here at the Academy. As you are all aware, we here at Brightwood Academy maintain a standard of excellence as the only place for Guarded and their Guardians to train and find each other, and that applies to the staff here as well as it does the students. Anyone with questions is free to contact a staff member at any time, and of course students are encouraged to help each other as well. 

In order to welcome all of you, the staff here will be hosting a Homecoming Week of events that will begin tomorrow, Sunday, March 7, and will run through next weekend. To kick this event off, there will be a carnival set up in the courtyard. The carnival will run through the week, and will feature a variety of food, games, prizes, a few small rides (ferris wheel, tilt-a-whirl, carousel, bumper cars, and the Chair-O-Planes swings), and a petting zoo featuring animal-friendly photo ops. Each and every portion of the carnival has been funded by the school, meaning that participation in every activity offered is free for students and faculty. And, yes, that does include all food and games offered as well. The carnival will be open through the school week from 4 PM-midnight, and will be open Saturday, and both Sundays (tomorrow and next Sunday) from 10 AM-midnight.  

On Saturday. March 13, the annual Brightwood Homecoming Ball will be held in the gymnasium. Formal attire is required, so please keep the dress code in mind when planning attendance. Of course, students are welcome and encouraged to attend this event together, although dates are not a requirement for admission. This will be a catered event, featuring snacks and refreshments in addition to the dance itself. The ball will begin promptly at 8 PM, and will run until midnight. The carnival will also still be open during this time, for anyone who wishes to attend as well.  

Sunday morning will follow with the Homecoming Brunch, hosted in the dining hall. This will be a catered event, so the food will be different than the food typically served in Brightwood’s Dining Hall. Brunch will begin at 10:30 AM, and will end at 1:00 PM. 

All students are encouraged to attend these events, as they provide excellent opportunities for mingling, getting to know each other, and overall good fun. Attendance, however, is not mandatory. We do hope each of you is settling in to this new year nicely. We look forward to seeing each of you during our Homecoming Week of Welcome!
