Hello! The age rule is there so that we don't have a bunch of 18- year olds in gifs and stuff, honestly. When it comes to Nick, he's one of those people that would have been 17 while everyone else was graduating at 18, because of his birthday being in December. And he turns 21 this year. So as long as you use pictures and gifs and stuff of him from this year and last year and not stuff of him as a teenager, we'll allow it! I hope you're still interested and we'd love to have you.

What sort of non academic or club/sport amenities are on campus considering they can't leave? A coffee shop, spa, bowling alley, other places to eat besides the cafeteria, etc?

Brightwood Academy is separated into three main buildings, named for the Council members who funded their construction: 

Melwood Building: This is the building in which The Guarded reside. Guarded students are given private suites in the Melwood building. Each suite consists of a living area, a full kitchen, a full bathroom, a bedroom, and a guest room. Students are permitted to decorate their living quarters however they’d like.

Montgomery Building: This is the building in which The Guardians reside. Guardian students are placed in suites as well, but are paired with a suitemate. The intention behind this is to encourage students to seek and find their mates. Each suite consists of a shared living area, a shared kitchen, a shared bathroom, and two individual bedrooms. Students are permitted to decorate their living quarters however they’d like. 

Camden Hall: This building is the shared academic building, where all classes, clubs, and training occur. Camden Hall is a three-story building. First Floor: The first floor is home to the kitchens, the dining hall, the library, the gym, the pool, three Guardian training arenas, the hospital wing/nurse’s station, and all staff and faculty offices. Second Floor: The second floor is home to all classrooms for Guarded and Guardian denoted classes. Third Floor: The third floor is home to all classrooms for mixed, general ed classes as well as meeting rooms for all clubs and extracurriculars.

Kitchens: The kitchens are where mass meals are prepped for each and every day. The Kitchens are also home to a fully stocked pantry, from which Guardians and Guarded are permitted to do their own shopping to prepare their own meals in-suite, should they choose. 

Dining Hall: For those who do not wish to cook, the Dining Hall is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is buffet-style, and open 24/7. 

Library: The library is open and accessible to students 24/7, and in addition to offering both academic and pleasure reading options, also features 5 individual, noise-proof study rooms. 

Gym: The gym is also open to students 24/7, and features any and every machine found in your average gym. The pool is also open 24/7. 

Hospital Wing/Nurse’s Station: This area of Brightwood is open 24/7 to students in need. Any ill or injured students should report to the nurse for assessment, and they will determine an appropriate course of action. 

Training Arenas: These arenas are similar to gymnasiums, though are reinforced structurally to be able to handle the amount of physical strain put on the building during training. Training Arenas are used during Guardian training times, built in to the class schedule, and may also be reserved by Guardian students until 9 PM.

How exactly does a discord based rp work with a group? Sorry if its a dumb question but im used to tumblr group rps being able to use gifs and threads/tags to keep each rp organized and drafts to keep my replies when i cant answer immediately or 1x1 in dms on discord... never a group

Hey hey there 'Nonnie! This is a great question, though one that might be a bit difficult to explain. I'll give it my best go, though! So, the good thing about Discord is that you can still use GIFs and still carry on threads, just in a little bit of a different format. Some of this information may be obvious if you're an existing Discord user, though in the event that any of our followers/readers/potential group members are reading along and may not have this level of knowledge, I've gone as in-depth as possible!

The two primary features utilized in our Discord are CATEGORIES and CHANNELS.

CATEGORIES: Think of your Discord categories as filing cabinets. Each character has their own category in each server associated with the group. We'll get into what is contained in these categories a little later on.

CHANNELS: Think of your Discord channels as files within the filing cabinet, each containing specific pieces of information (or, in this case, RP threads).

We've set up our group Discord with three different servers, each utilized for a different part of the RP.

Server 1: General Server This server contains the general information regarding worldbuilding, applications, Guardians, Guardeds, the Council, Brightwood Academy itself, as well as the OOC Chat, plotting calls, starter calls, etc. Each character also has their own category within this server, containing four different channels for their assigned character. These channels are bio, hcs, aesthetics, and social media posts. These channels are where each mun posts different information correlating to each of these topics for their character. Information posted within the bios, hcs, and aesthetics channels is considered OOC information, while posts made in the social media channels are posted IC, just like any other social media post would be on Tumblr.

Server 2: Text Threads Server This server is where all text message conversations between characters 1x1 take place (save your group chats, which are located in the general server). Again, each character has their own category and it is within these categories that channels are created for each active text message thread. For example, if Character A and Character B wish to text each other, whomever starts the interaction (we'll go with Character A for this example) will go to their own category, "CHARACTER A". They'll then add a new channel and title it "CHARACTER A X CHARACTER B". From there, the conversation takes place via "text" as it would normally in a back and forth chat feature on Tumblr.

Server 3: F2F/Para Server This server is where all F2F/Para interactions take place. Again, each character has their own category and it is within these categories that channels are created for each active para threads. We have a section for open starters as well, which anyone can respond to by creating a channel for the interaction. For example, if Character A and Character B wish to have a F2F interaction, or a para interaction, whomever is beginning the interaction will locate their character's category, then they'll add a new channel and title it "CHARACTER A X CHARACTER B". From there, the back and forth begins as it normally would with a Tumblr thread.

the student roster, room assignments, and ooc masterlist all give different numbers for the guardian/guarded ratio. which is up to date?

Hello there Anon! Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I took a look at everything, and for the most part everything should be up to date at this point. The OOC Masterlist now matches the Roommate List. As far as the Student Roster goes- the first page, the general page, the one that comes up when you first enter the link is 100% accurate. However, I will warn that right now, things are a little wacky when you start clicking on the specifications menu at the top of the page (i.e. to look at only Guardeds, only Guardians, etc.) This is because my wonderful co-admin is still working on updating the coding! I'm sorry about that, and I definitely appreciate your patience when it comes to getting that part specifically updated. However, again, the general first page does have a correct and updated list of all current students!

what kind of characters would you like to see?

Hey, hey 'Non! Really and truly, I would love to see anyone you'd like to bring. However, I can toss out a few ideas!

-Someone who has had a run-in with rebels hunting Guardians/Guardeds: this is something that would need to be discussed with me beforehand, as I have pretty specific ideas for what the rebels do/look like/how they act, so I would want to make sure that was followed per my lore.

- A character who truly does not believe they have a soulmate.

-I would love to see a situation where a character truly believes they've found their soulmate, but when the bond is tested, it turns out they are not.

-A "learn to love each other" relationship, where characters accidentally bond early, but realize that while they love each other, they do not necessarily like each other because of their many differences.

-A set of characters who know deep down they've found their bond, but are too scared to test it.

-I would love to see more siblings/sibling relationships.

-More political characters/from political families

-Overall more diverse characters- more POC, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ characters

-More Guardian characters (and, of course, more female Guardians!)

I realize that some of these are more situational than referencing one particular type of character, however you are able to use those thoughts not only to build a character around, and it will encourage further plotting between characters.
