thanks to my (brasilian) mom, ive discovered the portuguese names for g1 ponies are SO MUCH BETTER than the english ones. hell, they almost made her cry bc they were so cute.

As for the COVID vaccine, it is certainly your choice but I was looking forward to the time you would be vaccinated so we could bring the kids down. It makes me sad that it will just be so long without it. If you want to look into it, here is the link I got for x’s County from my licensing board. PAs and doctors do not have the vaccine. Local Health Departments have it.

I know your PA mentioned she wanted to wait until 50-60k people got the vaccine, and the good news is that at this point 19 million shots have been administered to Americans!

My husband’s parents are going to a drive-thru appointment to get theirs in the county on Thursday. So it wouldn't be a lot of (or any?) walking. It looks like all the slots for next week are taken. However the site will put more appointments up under a button that says "Register" soon. You can click the "Register" button when more appointments are available then fill out info for you and x. After that you should be able to choose your appointments. It's totally up to you, but would you want me to register you and x? It's your choice but I am happy to do so :)

Corners were not cut in the development of the vaccines. The main time-saver used by the pharmaceutical companies was to ramp up for production simultaneously with development of the vaccine and not to wait for that step until after FDA authorization

I know you have thought a lot about vaccination and I wanted to add one more thing? There are several mutated versions circulating which are much more dangerous than the original (the British one is more contagious and the South African & Brasilian ones are likely more lethal). The CDC expects the U.K. variant to be the dominant version in the U.S. by March, and a case of the Brasilian variant was just found in Minnesota. These other versions will make vaccine protection even more critical and life-saving.

Das Erste überträgt am Samstag ab 16:30 Uhr live aus dem Fürstentum

Acht Rennen, acht Sieger und noch immer nicht die kleinste Vorentscheidung im Titelkampf: Die Formel E bietet in ihrer fünften Saison Dramatik pur. Nächster Schauplatz ist am Samstag (11. Mai) der berühmte Stadtkurs in Monaco, wo Daniel Abt und Lucas di Grassi die Marke von 40 Podiumsplätzen für ihr Team Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler knacken wollen. Die ARD zeigt das Rennen live im Ersten. „Ich bin immer wieder erstaunt, wie eng die Formel E in dieser Saison ist, wie schwer es ist, auf dem Podium zu stehen, und wie viele Teams und Fahrer um Siege und den Titel kämpfen“, sagt Teamchef Allan McNish, der genau wie Lucas di Grassi im Fürstentum lebt und den Aufbau der temporären Strecke tagtäglich mitbekommt. „Es ist schön zu sehen, wie die Spannung in der ganzen Stadt steigt. Auch örtliche Schulen engagieren sich und bringen damit schon die nächste Generation mit der Formel E in Kontakt.“ Aus sportlicher Sicht zählt für McNish vor allem das Qualifying. „Überholen ist besonders hier in Monaco schwierig, deshalb wollen wir uns eine gute Startposition schaffen. Daniel, Lucas und das ganze Team freuen sich auf Samstag.“ Das Rennen in Monaco wechselt sich mit dem historischen Grand Prix ab und gehört alle zwei Jahre zum Kalender. Wie in der ersten und dritten Saison nutzt die Formel E eine kurze Variante der Formel-1-Strecke, die sowohl den Bogen um das Casino als auch den Tunnel auslässt. Stattdessen führt der Kurs hinter der ersten Kurve Sainte Dévote runter zum Hafen und mit einer Spitzkehre zurück auf die bekannte Streckenführung entlang der Luxusjachten. Mit 1,765 Kilometern ist der Kurs der kürzeste im Formel-E-Kalender. Bei beiden bisherigen Rennen stand Lucas di Grassi als Zweiter auf dem Podium – oder besser: in die königliche Loge. Vielleicht liegt das am Heimvorteil: Von der Haustür des Brasilianers, der mit seiner Frau Bianca und Sohn Leonardo im Fürstentum lebt, bis zu seinem Rennauto in der Box sind es gerade einmal 350 Meter. „Nicht nur deshalb hat Monaco für mich ein ganz besonderes Flair“, sagt Lucas di Grassi. „Die neue Boxenanlage direkt am Hafen, die Strecke entlang vieler Orte, die für mich zum täglichen Leben gehören, und jede Menge Freunde machen dieses Rennen einzigartig.“ Sportlich hat der Brasilianer klare Ziele: „Die Meisterschaft ist völlig offen. Mit meinem vierten Platz in Paris habe ich mir eine gute Ausgangsposition verschafft, um anzugreifen. Wir haben das Team und das Auto, um in Monaco zu gewinnen.“ Teamkollege Daniel Abt feierte in Frankreichs Hauptstadt zum zweiten Mal auf dem Podium und liegt damit weiter in Schlagdistanz zur Tabellenspitze. „Dieses Momentum aus Paris möchte ich jetzt mit nach Monaco nehmen und dort einen sauberen Renntag erwischen. Das Ziel ist eindeutig, das Rennen zu gewinnen“, sagt Daniel Abt, der vor seiner Formel-E-Karriere schon mit der GP2- und der GP3-Serie in Monaco fuhr und dabei auch auf dem Podium stand. „Monaco gehört für mich zu den Höhepunkten im Kalender. Ich mag die Strecke und das besondere Flair.“ Neben dem Werksteam Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler ist auch das Kundenteam Envision Virgin Racing mit Sam Bird und Robin Frijns mit dem von Audi und Technologiepartner Schaeffler entwickelten e-tron FE05 unterwegs. Die britische Mannschaft liegt in der Teamwertung auf dem zweiten Platz, Frijns führt nach seinem ersten Sieg in Paris die Fahrerwertung an. Der neunte Saisonlauf der Formel E startet in Paris am Samstag um 16:30 Uhr Ortszeit und führt wie gewohnt über 45 Minuten plus eine Runde. Zum ersten Mal in dieser Saison zeigt die ARD ein Rennen live: Die Übertragung aus dem Fürstentum im Ersten beginnt pünktlich zum Rennstart um 16:30 Uhr. Wenig Schule in der Woche vom 30.10-5.11

Am Montag bin ich aufgrund des Campings nicht zur Schule gegangen und auch am Dienstag war ich noch zu erschöpft um in die Schule zu gehen. Am dienstag abend gab es eine Veranstaltung von Rotary “Nachts in der Kirche” angelehnt an “Nachts im Museum”. Es wurde sich bei Anbruch der Dunkelheit in der Kirche von Frederico Westphalen getroffen. Dort gab es dann eine Präsentation der Stadtgeschichte. Es wurde viel anhand von Bildern und Videos erzählt, was für mich sehr gut war! Ich verstehe zwar was gesagt wird wenn die Person mir gegenüber langsam spricht, aber noch lange nicht wenn Brasilianer miteinander in Fachsprache reden :D. Nach dieser Veranstaltung, die sehr interessant war und mir einiges über meine Heimatstadt erzählt hat, ging es dann Nach Hause, denn es war dann auch schon spät... (ca. 23Uhr). Am Mittwoch war dann mal wieder ausnahmsweiße schule. Doch am Donnerstag gab es wieder Schulfrei, aufgrund dem Tag der toten. Am Nachmittag bin ich mit meiner Gastmutter zum Friedhof in Caicara gefahren, da sie zum Gedenken ihrer Eltern ein Paar Blumen aufstellen wollte und kErzen anzünden wollte. Der Friedhof ist anders als die in Deutschland. Hier werden entweder für die Verstorbenen kleine Häuser gebaut oder überirdische Särge (aus Stein). Außerdem werden überall die Bilder der Verstorbenen aufgehangen. Für mich sehr Interessant aber ich bevorzuge unsere Variante mehr... Donnerstag war auch wieder Schulfrei.  Wir sind in ein Fischrestaurant am Ufer vom Fluss Uruguay gefahren, es war Panorama Mäßig, also eine Glasfront am Balkon, sehr schön! Danach sind wir noch zu einem Touri shop gegangen, damit ich mich auch mal wie ein tourist fühlen kann, dort gab es dann Messer für Churrasco zu kaufen, sowie die Utensilien für Chimarrao und Cachaca.  Auf dem Rückweg habe ich noch ein Geburtstagsgeschenk gekauft und wir sind Zuckerrohr Saft trinken gegangen. Dies war absolut neu für mich und ich konnte mich irgendwie nicht vorstellen wie es gemacht wird.... Aber an sich ist es ganz einfach, man nimmt einfach das frische Zuckerrohr und presst es, der Saft wird dann mit eis und Wahlweise Limonensaft aufgefüllt und fertig ist das kühl, süße und leckere Getränk. Ich preferiere die Variante mit Limone. Am Wochenende gab es einen Geburtstag zu feiren. Und zwar am Samstag, der Geburtstag von Vilmar, mein “Onkel”. Er wurde 60 Jahre alt und das wurde groß gefeiert, mit gutem Essen, selbst designten Gläsern und einer Band. Doch leider Spielte die Band nur Brasilianische Schlager und diese sind wie deutsche Schlager nur auf Portugisisch und das kann einem nach Stunden sehr auf die Nerven gehen ;D. Aber ich habe es überlebt und habe als andenken ein solches selbstdesigntes Glas bekommen.

Nach langer Durststrecke endlich wieder ein Podestplatz für Augusto Farfus

Gelungene DTM-Rückkehr auf die britische Insel: Beim elften DTM-Saisonrennen auf der langen Grand-Prix-Variante in Brands Hatch (Großbritannien) sicherte sich Daniel Juncadella seinen ersten Sieg in der populären Tourenwagenserie. Von der Pole-Position gestartet, lieferte der Spanier ein fehlerfreies Rennen ab und fuhr nach 41 Runden mit 7,896 Sekunden Vorsprung zum ungefährdeten Sieg. „Den Sieg haben wir alle zusammen geholt“, lobte er über den Funk seine Boxenmannschaft. „Sehr, sehr geil. Es ist etwas ganz Besonderes, in der DTM zu gewinnen.“ Zweiter im Samstagsrennen wurde Augusto Farfus im BMW M4 DTM vor Lucas Auer in einem weiteren Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM.

Dabei sah es für Rennsieger Juncadella nach dem Start erstmal nicht so gut aus. „Ich hatte Probleme beim Losfahren und zwei Plätze verloren“, erklärte der Spanier. „Danach habe ich nur nach vorne geguckt. Das war wie ein Qualifying, erst in den letzten fünf Runden habe ich etwas Speed rausgenommen.“ Für den Mercedes-AMG-Piloten ist es der erste Sieg in seinem 67. DTM-Rennen. Vor wenigen Wochen holte er am Norisring mit Platz drei seinen ersten Podestplatz.

Grund zur Freude hatte auch BMW-Pilot Augusto Farfus. Nach 825 Tagen durfte der Brasilianer endlich wieder zur Siegerehrung. Zuletzt stand Farfus beim Saisonauftakt 2016 in Hockenheim als Zweiter auf dem Podest. Dabei profitierte der BMW-Pilot von seiner Streckenkenntnis. „Das hat mir sehr geholfen. Ich bin schon einige Rennen hier gefahren und Brands Hatch hat es immer gut mit mir gemeint“, sagte er. „Ich bin so glücklich, zurück auf dem Podium zu sein. Heute genießen wir den Tag und morgen will ich wieder das wiederholen.“

Im Gegensatz zu Farfus fuhr Lucas Auer zum ersten Mal ein Rennen auf dem langen Kurs. „Die Strecke ist sehr schwierig und anspruchsvoll. Zweiter im Qualifying und Dritter im Rennen ist in Ordnung.“

In der DTM-Fahrerwertung liegen nach elf Rennen drei Mercedes-AMG-Piloten auf den ersten Plätzen. Weiterhin auf Platz eins liegt Gary Paffett an, der mit Platz sechs seine Führung ausbauen konnte und jetzt 156 Punkte auf seinem Konto hat. Zweiter ist Paul Di Resta mit 121 Punkten vor Lucas Auer, der sich von Platz sechs auf drei verbessern konnte und 106 Punkte hat. Punktgleich (101) liegen Edoardo Mortara und Timo Glock auf den Positionen vier und fünf vor Marco Wittmann (100).

Das zweite Rennen des Wochenendes startet am Sonntag ab 14:30 Uhr (MESZ), das SAT.1 in „ran racing“ ab 14:00 Uhr (MESZ) live überträgt. In Österreich ist ORF eins am Sonntag ab 14:15 Uhr (MESZ) auf Sendung. In der Schweiz zeigt MySports das Rennen live.
