"Arrests Urged At Plage Laval," Montreal Star. July 27, 1943. Page 3. --- Ringleaders of Brawl Known, Says Police Chief ---- Police of Plage Laval are demanding the arrests of 75 persons who are allegedly the instigators of Saturday night's brawl which they claim was a "race war between Jews and French-Canadians," at the town's one night club, "Kosy, Korner," resulting in Moe Herscovitch's probable loss of both eyes.
Plage Laval civic authorities, however, have refused to issue warrants for the arrests on the grounds of "insufficient evidence." C. Price, secretary-treasurer, said last night that "a free-for all involves many people and as to who are guilty parties we cannot prove definitely."
Police Chief L. Bolduc said that he knows the ringleaders and promised arrests as soon as definite evidence can be obtained. The reported trouble-makers are believed to live in the outlying districts of Ste. Rose and Ste. Dorothee.
Residents of Plage Laval ex pressed anxiety last night over the plight of Herscovitch, and promised revenge for the severe beating administered to the former member of the Canadian Olympic boxing team and flying wing of the Winged Wheelers football squad. According to reports, he was at tacked by 10 persons as he went to his nephew's aid during the earlier stages of the brawl which broke out in the "Kosy Korner" when three car loads of young men pulled up to the restaurant and stormed the premises seeking revenge for a previous incident.
Kicked In Face Herscovitch, who has not lost his prowess as an accomplished boxer, tangled with three or four at a time and seemed to be taking care of himself, the residents declared. Soon more hoodlums rushed into the melee and the Great War veteran went down. He was allegedly given a series of kicks in the face which resulted in his removal to the Jewish General Hospital with severe lacerations across the eyes. It is said today that he may lose the sight of both eyes.
Plage Lavalers were still in a fighting mood last night and looked with suspicion on the reporter investigating the details of the free-for-all. One group emerging from the "Kosy Korner" surrounded him apparently ready to start tangling should he be one of the gang.
Action is awaited next Saturday night when the mob from the out- side district is expected to try once again to take over the control of the town's lone night spot.

How does Truth and Reconciliation in Canada relate to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals?

 Ans.
   The sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice.
Truth and Reconciliation in Canada relates to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in some aspects such as No poverty, Good Health and Well being, Quality education, Gender Equality, Reduced Inequalities AND Peace, Justice And Strong Institutions.
 1.In the book Honouring  the Truth,  Reconciling for the Future they said that Canada separated children from their parents, sending them to residential schools and it was done not to educate them, but primarily to break their link to their culture and identity and after they started healing. President of the Métis National Council Clement Chartier spoke to the Commission about the importance of truth to justice and reconciliation. At the Saskatchewan National Event, he said, we are, however, the products ... of the same assimilationist policy that the federal government foisted upon the Treaty Indian kids. So there ought to be some solution.... The Métis boarding schools, residential schools, are excluded. This is same as UN’S sustainable goal known as Quality education.
 2. Reconciliation must inspire Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples to transform Canadian society so that our children and grandchildren can live together in dignity, peace, and prosperity on these lands we now share. This represents the Peace, Justice and Strong Institution goal of Un’s sustainable goal.
3. At the Alberta National Event in Edmonton in March 2014, an Indigenous youth spoke on behalf of a national Indigenous and non-Indigenous collaboration known as the “4Rs Youth Movement.” Jessica Bolduc said, We have re-examined our thoughts and beliefs around colonialism, and have made a commitment to unpack our own baggage, and to enter into a new relationship with each other, using this momentum, to move our country forward, in light of the 150th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada in 2017. Our hope is that, one day, we will live together, as recognized nations, within a country we can all be proud of. This explains the Reduced Inequalities sustainable concept of UN’s sustainable development goal in Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation process.
 4. Canadian government owned the land of aboriginal people and they negotiated and occupied aboriginal people land. and after they stop doing this destruction to aboriginal people with reduces poverty for native people and this is same as UN’s No Poverty development.
 5. Canadian government disempowered the aboriginal women who have powerful role in their nation. There were some cases of sexual abuses to the women but after at a Community Hearing in Tunder Bay, Ontario, Merle Nisley, who worked at the Poplar Hill residential school in the early 1970′s, said, Where wrongs were done, where abuses happened, where punishment was over the top, and wherever sexual abuse happened, somehow we need to courageously sit and talk about that, and apologize. I don’t know how that will happen. This represents the Gender equality goal of UN’s sustainable development.
 Further, the government of Canada apologizes for all the things they done to aboriginal people and repairs all the destruction and made Quality Education, Gender Equality, Reduced Inequalities, No Poverty And Peace, Justice and strong Institution workable in Canada.

How did the information presented in the talks above affect how you think about nature?
Ans. Before I listed the talk, I had a different prospect for a nature but after watching the talks my views got change about nature. I come to know that how trees in the forest communicate with each other not only from below the grounds but from above of the grounds also. Forest is a place for trees with lots of connected herbs, network, nod and this is how they talk with each other. They not only share carbon but they also share and communicate with nitrogen, phosphorous, water, signals and hormones and scientists called this underground symbiosis.
 2.What aspects of nature and biodiversity do you feel are most important to protect? How can you take     action to protect this aspect?
Ans. Protect the Forests because it provide shelter to many animals as well as provide food, medicine which are main resources of human. Plants are important for ecosystem because they exchange gases with atmospheric air and also they are important for sustainable development of environment. Vultures are important aspects of nature and biodiversity. They help us and our nature in various ways and they are needed to be protected. They are natural degraders of dead animals and they prevent the spreading of diseases to humans and animals. They maintain a healthy ecosystem so, we should become active and make noise about these creatures and appreciate the services that they provide to us and our nature. These issues will not solve locally so government should educate people by advertising about the benefits of having vultures in nature. Moreover, people can volunteer their time to spread the word and inform about this issue to everyone.

Describe where and when you spent your time in nature.
Ans. I felt the need to sit alone for clear thoughts and positivity. So, I went to my “peace spot”. Every-time I feel low or exhausted, I go to my usual spot for positive vibes and energy. There are steps (besides the river) which go down inside the water. This spot is on the side at the Folks. I went there in the evening and I like to sit on steps pouring my feet under the water and last I Visited there on November 8, 2019.

 2. What did you experience in your time in nature? What did you see, hear, smell, and feel? What     effect did this time in nature have on you?
Ans. It was late evening, city lights everywhere. The view from the spot is mesmerizing. Feeling water under feet and smelling fresh air, this experience is very peaceful. I do hear the sound of water waves, air rushing through trees, calming my soul. It is a kind of therapy to me which helps me to think distinctly for every second thought I had.

Ans. Human depends to a large extent on nature. Human uses all the resources obtained from nature like wood, air, water, food and many other things. Somehow, these resources also promote human connection to nature. Moreover, going to parks, gardens or forests can promote human connection with nature. One should go to parks away from disturbance and can observe the trees, birds and can also feel air that help them to feel free of stress. People can do camping, boating and other activities that will help them to connect with nature. There are many cycles like carbon cycle, phosphorous cycle, hydrological cycle, sulfur cycle and nitrogen cycle that is biologically done by nature and benefits human beings and other things on earth.

 1b. what promotes disconnection from nature?
Ans. There are many things that promote disconnection with nature. First of all, living in urban area where there is a huge traffic, noise, and pollution makes disconnection of human from nature. People living in cities are not able to get fresh air and due to traffic there is noise that disconnect human from nature. Secondly, people disrupt biological cycles by producing green house effect to environment; they produce more carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide and other gases by burning fossil fuels that affect natural beauty of earth.
 1c. Is there a danger to a growing disconnect from nature?
Ans. obviously, there is a huge danger to a growing disconnect from nature. By disconnecting from nature, stress level of people are rising, they are getting more vulnerable to diseases. Due to their busy life in modern era people are neglecting the values of nature and they are putting themselves and their future generations in danger. People cut trees, burn fossil fuels that effect environment that disrupt the biological cycles and by doing this there future generations will not get all the resources as they used.

Ans. I believe in Deep ecology because it says that all the things are equally important rather they are living or non-living. It says that human cannot destroy or change nature because of their personal needs. Interfering with the nature means interfering with the sustainability of an environment. For example cutting trees and making roads through rocks is interference with nature for personal needs and benefits of human.

3a. Can parks meet its dual mandate of access and protection?
Ans. I think parks can meet its dual mandate of access and protection only if people were restricted within a limit of disturbing the nature and animal species in parks. People should not disturb the natural environment of parks. Government can restrict some area for humans to enter where there is endangered species so that they cannot affect that species. Government should restrict people from entering people to some areas so that they cannot disturb the habitats of someone others home by this I mean animals home. People can watch animals from far away without affecting there environment and by doing this park will meet its dual mandate of access and protection.
 3b. How can this be achieved in Wapusk?
Ans.  In Wapusk national park number of visitors are limited which help park to become disturbance less. Less people visiting parks means less pollution of vehicles and fewer disturbances to animals in park which is good for animals. Moreover, restricted some areas in Wapusk help animals to be more protected from human activities which make this protection act more safer.

 Part 5. Questions
Describe 3 challenges and 3 opportunities that you see in the slow movement. Do you want to slow some aspect(s) of your life? If so, what concrete steps can you take to achieve this?
 Ans.  I listened to Welcome to New Slow City. In this Carl speaks to William Powers about New Slow City, the book he wrote about living Slow in New York. I listed this because I was having many thought after reading the name New Slow City. Big cities are fast cities and it was amazing to listen to thought of William Powers that tell us that how to become slow in such a big city.
 There are many challenges living slow in a New York City. First main challenge in living slow in such a big city is that there is workaholic environment. This means that everyone living there is having busy life schedule which means they work fast and always remain in hurry. New Yorkers have one third the carbon footprint the average Americans. So, there is being carbon intensity to being in a city and there is a lot of more logical transport. Second challenge that comes in a way of living slow in a big city is that the living area is very small which means that mostly people live in tiny apartments where it is not easy to adjust. Furthermore, there are long buildings which mean birds do not sit on the roofs as they sit in village rooftops. The hardest challenge is the culture in the city. William Power said that you cannot change culture but the culture changes you. It is very difficult to adjust in such a big city where everyone rushing around.
 The opportunities in the slow movement in the New York City are going to places which are noise and pollution free. The west village in New York is good opportunity to get slow in such a big city because their you cannot listen highway noise anymore and the Rambo in essential park and the Chinese Decort of art where nobody goes is good to approach slow revolution movement. So, it is recommended to spend 10 minutes daily there. People went there and assume that they were slow now in nature. The other opportunity to become slow is working efficiently and patiencely. People do not have to work too much they have to take rest as well and also they can go to some places which is close to nature. The other opportunity is the gadgets that save the time of the human. The labor has become 3 times more efficient since 1970’s in US. Connecting with other people feels good and good approach to slow down in fast world. Reserve some of your mental space for non-market place for you and this is too beautiful
 I would like to slow myself in this modern era because rushing our self give stress to mind and body. Slowing down will help me to know about every little detail about things. I will go to garden or park and sit there which will help me to relax my mind. Anticipation, going to restaurant a while in a week, talk with my friends and have good food will help me to achieve slow revolution.

Milk is the great source of calcium and it also contain  many other essential nutrients that are good and the bottle of milk can be  recyclable.

Eggs are good source of protein but they are good for  people who need protein and who exercise,. But on the other side it also  increases cholesterol level in human which affect the health and increases  blood pressure. The packing of eggs is in hard paper which can be easily  recyclable.

Eating banana is good for health because it contains  vitamin C, Manganese and potassium. It is recyclable.
 My analyses show that the items that I bought, some were bad and some were good for human and environmental conditions. I would like to make changes in my purchases such as buying more good products as compared to bad products. I will take care of environment too.
 3. Investigate the options     and end fate of your household’s e-waste.     Discuss where and how you will dispose of this waste and your     future electronics purchase plans in relation to the waste they will one     day become.  (    /2)
 Ans. The e-waste produced by my household is not too much because I do not buy much electronics because it may harm my health in long term. Like, working on computer for long time may affect my eye sight and using microwave can cause cancer. So, I barely use these items but I recycle the e-waste in electronics recycler that I produce. In future I will purchase items from the store that will give me trade back option so that after using the electronics I can sell the waste to the shop again and it will not produce any environment pollution. Recycling the e-waste is the good way because by doing this the valuable things are extracted from the waste and the other one may be reused after proper treatment.
 4. Consider your food system and the ways in which you can improve the sustainability the food that you consume and throw away. Are there ways to improve sustainability such as shopping locally, growing your own food or reducing your household’s food waste? Which options might suit your household and value system? Create a plan for one change that you think would improve the sustainability of your food system. (       /3)
Ans. I mainly buy organic food from superstore or sometimes directly from farmers who produce it. But I think that growing my own food in garden is the best way to improve sustainability of food. By doing this I can reduce the cost of purchasing food from superstores. The food waste produced can be used as a fertilizer in garden and the food will be organic without chemical fertilizers. Moreover, I can produce food according to my consumption that how much I need and this will automatically reduce food waste and there will be no overproduction and spoilage of food.

Zoos
a.       What role, if any, should zoos play in conservation / education?
Ans. Zoos play an important role in conservation and education. Zoo is an establishment which maintains a collection of wild animals, in parks or gardens. Zoos are good for conservation of animals that are going to be extinct soon. Zoos are good to do the study and preserving endangered species. Zoos provide people with many types of animals inside captivity that someone cannot see in the forest. Zoos provide the great value to study animals and also people got much knowledge about animals and their behaviour.
 b.      Is it ethical to keep animals in zoos? If so, what size / type of animal or zoo?
Ans. It is ethical to keep animals in zoos but only if zoo should provide them proper environment, nourishment and care. All types of animals can be kept inside zoo but also zoo is a great place to preserve endangered species. Zoos should provide same environment to animals as their natural habitat and the size of animals depend on the space that zoo provide to them for their good growth.
 c.       Do you enjoy visiting zoos?
Ans. Yeah, I like visiting zoos because it contains many species of animals that were first unknown to me. I got knowledge about many animals like lion, bears and many others. It makes the relation stronger between my family members. Moreover, it provides me the knowledge about the nature of animals as such as their value to environment.

Consider your food system:
a.     What do you like about it?
Ans. I like my food system because it provides people with proper nutrition and good health, with all types of foods that is required by one to maintain proper health and body. It includes all processes such as growing, harvesting, processing, packaging, transportation, marketing and consumption. The food is properly packed with all the information given about the ingredients that it contains inside it. The food packed is fresh and good to consume before the expiry date given. Moreover, the food in the market is of all varieties that share the equality between people.
 b.     What do you dislike about it?
Ans. The thing that I dislike about my food system is the cost of the products. The cost of the foods is much higher than their nutritional value. The cost of organic food is too high that only some person can afford it. Moreover, there is spoilage of food when food is overproduced. An antibiotics used on foods can cause water and air pollution which is an environmental issue.
  Oceans
1.     What are your primary concerns about the oceans?
Ans. Oceans are habitat of many plants and animals. Main concerns about oceans are throwing plastic substances in water which are affecting the marine life. However, plastic disrupts the habitats of marine animals. Other concerns about ocean is pollution that causes green house effect and acidification of ocean and coral bleaching. Studies have shown that in 2050 there will be more plastic than fishes in the sea. Many fishes for example whales eat plastic bags which cause them to die. Marine animals consume plastic things and eventually die and this also effect the natural cycle of marine life.

Ans. People should avoid using plastic bags. People can use other materials instead of plastics that are biodegradable and eco friendly. Moreover, government should give education to people about the bad effects of using plastic and government should provide dustbins in public places for people to dump garbage instead of throwing it outside in environment. There should be proper treatment of water so that toxins cannot be produced in water that kill marine animals as well as humans.

  b. Connect with Ourselves, Connect with Nature
 Ans.  When I am outdoors, I usually like sunny days. I remember once I did my assignment while sitting outside the campus of my University. I was sitting on the grass with my friends and it was a sunny day with cool breeze crossing us. I really enjoyed that moment sitting close to nature and the surroundings were much peaceful which made my concentration even better. I often do running in morning in the park near my house which help me to feel relax.  This also helps me to maintain my body fitness and the fresh air relax my mind. People with their pets also come to do jogging in park and I like to play with their pets that sharp my mind. Eating my favorite food while sitting in nature seems to be heaven for me. It feels like I got everything on world that I want to have.  So, connecting our self with nature enhance our mind work, relaxes our mind and helps to enhance concentration and also makes us healthy.
 After undertaking this activity with mindfulness, write a paragraph or two on your gratitude for what you have just experienced. Consider how the activity felt, how it added to your experience of your body, the world and living, with more presence and connection. (   /3)
 c. Solution Revolution
Ans.   
Indoor exercise: I like to workout at my home as well as at gym. I have every-basic equipment required so that I can exercise indoor which is more efficient. Even if it’s the bad weather outside, I can still workout inside my house.  Moreover, I usually go to gym on weekend with my friends, mainly 6am in the morning. I started gym approximately a      year ago and it helps me to maintain my body fitness. Further, I really      take care of my diet which I make sure is a balanced meal. By doing all      these activities it sharps my mind and make me stress free which can      enhance my wealth in future.

 Spending time in Library: I really like to spent time at library reading fictional, mysterious kind of books in my free time. Usually I went to library on weekend in evening time. The environment in the library is calm which help me to concentrate more. It enhances my knowledge and while closing my eyes it feels very pleasant and looks like sitting free of thoughts and stress. It provides me positivity in my life and increases my      patience level. Studying in library will improve my communication skills      which can help me achieving my future goal. It will also help me to      increase my reading skills which will help me in my future study and job.

             3. Cooking;Cooking is my hobby and I got knowledge about cooking from my mother. I started cooking since I was in 6th grade. Now I cook daily in the morning around 7am and in evening in between 7pm to 10pm. Once I participated in a cooking competition and won first prize and then I got confidence that I can pursue cooking as my career.

L’avant
Elle s’enfermait trois semaines avant la date fatidique. Le lieu était étroit. Un mètre sur deux, étagères comprises. Le plafond en pente, si bien qu’elle ne tenait pas debout au fond de la pièce. Elle, du haut tout relatif de ses neuf ans. Et, de pièce, il s’agissait en fait d’un réduit, un grand placard. Elle l’avait toujours entendu être appelé ainsi, le cagibi. Le lieu recueillait de temps à autre des araignées. Une fois, il avait même été le refuge d’un rat dont son père s’était valeureusement débarrassé à coups de manche à balai, n’échappant ni à la griffure ni à la suée en cette matinée mémorable. Mais d’ordinaire le cagibi était vide, plein d’inutiles petites choses entreposées. Des sacs surnuméraires, des poupées délaissées, des livres mis ici au rebut sans qu’elle ne sache exactement pourquoi. Et, trois semaines avant l’événement, elle y entreposait un tabouret, contre le mur, face aux étagères. C’était son salon de confection. Son endroit à elle, à l’abri des regards curieux. Planquée, peinarde...
Avant de s’installer, elle prenait le soin de faire le tour de la maison. Tout y passait, de la cuisine : pâtes, paire de ciseaux, pelotes de laines, coton ; au salon : stylos, feutres, pâte à sel ; en passant par le bureau : papier Canson®, bolduc. Tout ce qui ressemblait à une fourniture malléable, utilisable, personnalisable était déménagé, acheminé et finissait son voyage sur l’étagère, tout près du tabouret, lequel était donc collé au mur, le tout sur un mètre de large, double-décimètre à l’appui. Elle rêvassait longuement, songeant à ce qu’elle pouvait faire. Chaque année débutait la même histoire, il fallait trouver de nouvelles idées. Elle rassemblait intérieurement tous les souvenirs passés, les bons moments, les anecdotes. Lui revenaient les balades le dimanche après-midi, juchée sur son vélo, devançant ses parents qui suivaient à pied. Lui remontaient les anniversaires fêtés avec les copines, les jeux de construction avec sa sœur et toutes les villes imaginaires qui prenaient forme sur la table du salon. Les fous rires et les goûters à écouter ses tantes chanter les mêmes rengaines depuis qu’elle était née. Et depuis qu’elles-mêmes étaient nées. Les virées au stade de foot, l’exigence des entraînements de gymnastiques. Les parties de chat-perché sur la place de la mairie avec ses petits camarades. Enfermée dans ce lieu à l’apparence ordinaire hostile, elle arrêtait le temps. Il avait la saveur de la nostalgie dont elle ignorait alors à peu près tout. Des odeurs, des couleurs. Une gourmandise retrouvée. Sur ses doigts, elle comptait et recomptait le nombre de présents à préparer. Établissait une liste où les prénoms étaient affublés de propositions « Sandrine : photo dans un cadre ». Elle raturait « Sandrine : xxxxx dans un cadre poème ». Puis, elle s’attelait à la tâche. Parfois, elle passait une heure enfermée dans son monde. D’autres fois, c’étaient quelques minutes. Pour quiconque passait devant le cagibi, il était interdit d’y pénétrer. Afin de signifier sa présence, elle poussait le plus qu’elle pouvait la porte, sans toutefois la fermer complètement. Le cagibi avait cela de suspect que la poignée était cassée de l’intérieur. Elle était concentrée autant que déterminée. Le temps défilait et tout n’était pas encore prêt. De semaines, il restait des jours. Il fallait augmenter le rythme, rogner sur les finitions. Il n’existait aucune solution qui permettait de repousser l’échéance. Enfin, après s’être collée les doigts de Superglue, avoir tiré la langue autant de fois qu’il était nécessaire de se concentrer, avoir abandonné l’idée de dessiner un paysage et s’être rabattue sur un personnage, après avoir finalisé tous les petits paquets, les avoir emballés dans du papier, phase pour laquelle elle était persuadée que personne ne l’avait vu traverser la cuisine, rouleaux à la main, pour les conduire dans le cagibi, après avoir ficelé de bolduc chaque paquetage, les avoir frisés à l’aide des ciseaux, elle était prête. À quelques heures seulement de l’instant magique. Soit, le résultat était la plupart du temps distinct de ce qu’elle avait imaginé. D’aussi loin que les souvenirs remontaient, rares étaient les fois où elle était entièrement conquise par le produit fini. Peu importait. Ça n’était pas elle qu’il fallait convaincre mais celles et ceux qui, chanceux, recevaient de sa part un petit présent : un collier de nouilles bricolé, trois bouts de coton collés sur une découpe de carton, un poème à l’écriture appliquée où quelques traces coriaces de crayon de bois venaient dévoiler un peu de la préparation, du tour de force opéré pour rédiger bien droit. Et de sa toute petite expérience, elle savait que c’était exactement ce qui plaisait. Ce qu’elle offrait était fait de ses doigts. Inexpérimentés et maladroits. Si heureuse d’être là, de faire et défaire, de préparer tendrement l’arrivée des fêtes de fin d’année.
Le soir venu, elle extirpait du cagibi les cadeaux, les transportait le plus discrètement qu’il était possible de faire pour une enfant et les plongeait au pied d’un sapin fier comme Artaban, décoré kitschement pour l’occasion : boules, étoiles, guirlandes. Il fallait être patient. D’abord attendre les invités puis dîner. Constater l’heure au réveil ou à la montre. Décompter : 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 ! Fondre dans les bras de son voisin de table, se dire les yeux embués combien la fête était belle, et enfin se ruer tête baissée, tout près du sapin, distribuer les présents en claironnant « Joyeux Noël ! ».

Winnacunnet tips Alvirne boys hoop at finish
By VINCE RODEMER Correspondent HUDSON – Alvirne was able to slow Winnacunnet down most of the night and prevent it from the run-and-gun style that can be troubling. The Broncos dictated the pace almost throughout Tuesday night’s game and battled until the very end, but a Winnacunnet senior had his own answer on Alvirne’s senior night. Freddy Schaake hit a game-winning 3 as time expired to spoil an outstanding Alvirne effort on Tuesday night at Alvirne High School and take a 55-52 win. After a timeout, the visitors inbounded with 15 seconds left. After a few passes Liam Viviano found Schaake on the left wing and the senior buried the contested buzzer-beater. “The time was winding down and we were able to get a hand up on the shooter, I don’t think it was awful defense on the play,” Alvirne coach Brian Lynch said. “He hit it (at) the buzzer and knocked down a shot with a hand in his face, so you have to hand it to him.” The four seniors (Trevor Bolduc, Jack Brown, Jake Whiting and Jake Canelas) each scored and totaled eight of the 10 Alvirne points in the opening quarter including Brown’s 3 with 1:15 remaining in the frame that made it 11-10 Winnacunnet after one. Viviano did the same thing he did to start the game and opened up the second quarter with a basket before Alvirne could make its first serious run of the night. Brown nailed another 3 to kickoff a 9-2 run that Bolduc closed with a banked three to make it 19-15 Broncos. The Warriors showed some of the quick-strike ability that has them as one of the area’s top teams an evened the game at 19-all. Michael Lamprey hit a pair of 3’s through and gave Winnacunnet a 27-24 advantage. Max Bonney-Liles got to the line on a transition drive with 1:18 to play in the half and made both to send the game into the break at 27-26 in favor of the visitors, a score that favor the pace the Broncos needed to keep. “We knew in order to give ourselves a chance, we knew we had to slow down a game and limit the number of possession,” Lynch said. We knew we had to limit our turnovers and their fast break points.” Bonney-Liles split a pair of free throws to put Alvirne up 30-29, but that’s when Winnacunnet was finally able to get out and run. Sparked by Viviano and Logan Keene, the Warriors went on a 10-0 run that was broken by a Brown three. Alvirne fought though and a Bonney-Liles three made it a one-possession game at 48-45 Winnacunnet. Brown made a lay up on a beautiful Ryan Weston pass and hit a free throw the next trip down to even the game at 48-all. Bonney-Liles hit a corner three to put the Broncos up and Brown made a huge block on the other end to swing the momentum further in the home team’s favor. A free throw stretched it to a four-point lead at 52-48, but the visitors scored the final seven points capped by Schaake’s three to end the game. Brown scored a game-high 19, Bonney-Liles had 11 points, four rebounds and four assists, Bolduc added 10 points and Whiting contributed a team-high four steals. Trump endorsements cause an uproar in New Hampshire GOP primaries
Donald Trump repeatedly argued during the 2016 election that the Democratic presidential primaries were “rigged” against Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Four years later, as nomination rivals Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Pete Buttigieg dropped out of the Democratic race and endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden just ahead of Super Tuesday, President Trump repeated his claims that the primaries were “rigged” against Sanders, the populist firebrand lawmaker from Vermont.
But now – in a twist -- the president’s reelection campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC) are being accused of “rigging” competitive GOP Senate and House primaries in the battleground state of New Hampshire – just days after Trump took sides and endorsed a candidate in each of the races. That spurred the Trump campaign and the RNC to no longer help the candidates the president didn’t endorse.
TRUMP SNUBS SESSIONS, ENDORSES TUBERVILLE IN GOP SENATE PRIMARY IN ALABAMA
The “rigging” charge comes from retired Army Gen. Don Bolduc, the main Republican Senate candidate who didn’t land the president’s endorsement. And Matt Mayberry, a former New Hampshire GOP vice-chair who saw his congressional primary rival win the president’s endorsement, stressed in an email to supporters to “Let New Hampshire Voters decide New Hampshire Elections.”
While the president has made more than 200 political endorsements since taking over in the White House in 2017, he hasn’t often weighed in on competitive Republican Senate and House primaries. And what makes his endorsements in New Hampshire even more noteworthy is the political firestorm they sparked.
The catalyst for all the commotion was the president’s tweets two weeks ago announcing his endorsements.
“He was a winner in my Administration and he will always put America First,” Trump tweeted as he backed Republican congressional candidate Matt Mowers, a longtime Republican political operative who worked on Trump’s 2016 general election campaign and transition before being appointed by the White House in 2017 to a high-ranking State Department position.
“Matt has my Complete and Total Endorsement! We need him in Washington now!” the president emphasized.
Mowers and Mayberry, a former Dover city councilor who strongly backed Trump during the 2016 general election, are the two main GOP candidates vying to challenge freshman Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas in November in the state’s 1st Congressional District.

A day later the president announced his support for Messner, an Army Ranger veteran who graduated from West Point and a self-made millionaire trial lawyer who registered to vote in New Hampshire in 2018 after living for years in Colorado.
“Corky Messner (@CorkyForSenate) will be a fantastic Senator for New Hampshire! A West Point graduate, he served our Country in the Army with distinction. Strong on Jobs, Crime, Vets, Military, and the Second Amendment......We need Corky in Washington – he has my Complete and Total Endorsement!,” Trump tweeted.
Messner and Bolduc -- a New Hampshire native who was awarded two Purple Hearts and five Bronze Star medals during his more than three decades of service in the Army, including 10 tours of duty in Afghanistan – are the two leading candidates in the GOP Senate primary. The winner of the September Republican primary will face off in November against Democratic two-term incumbent Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, a former governor of the state.
As a result of the endorsements, both Bolduc and Mayberry will no longer receive help from the Trump Victory organization, which is the combined effort of the Trump reelection campaign and the RNC. Messner and Mowers are now enjoying the full support from Trump Victory, which includes access to the RNC’s vast voter lists.

Trump Victory’s move comes even though neither the chair of the New Hampshire GOP or the state’s two RNC committee members gave their blessing, which is required by Republican Party rules. A Republican source with knowledge of the decision-making on the endorsements told Fox News that because New Hampshire holds its state primary less than two months before the November election, it’s already considered in a sense to be in the general election phase.
Bolduc was steamed by the decision. He charged during a virtual town hall that “I consider this a form of election rigging. Why even have a primary election if Washington, D.C., is going to decide the candidate.”
And the retired brigadier general told Fox News that “Granite Staters do not like to be told who to support and quite frankly I do not like to be told to concede before Granite Staters make their choice. Granite Staters must decide this primary election, not Washington, D.C.”
The National Republican Senatorial Committee’s staying neutral, and the New Hampshire GOP isn’t taking sides in the race either, following state party rules that mandate it remains neutral in contested primaries.
“The president can endorse anyone he wants," popular two-term Republican Gov. Chris Sununu told TV station WMUR. "I think the party leadership here in New Hampshire said, ‘Look, we’re going to stay neutral because there’s a primary, and a primary is a good, fair process.’”
The RNC declined to comment on the controversy, but longtime New Hampshire resident and veteran Republican strategist Corey Lewandowski weighed in.
Lewandowski – who managed Trump’s first presidential campaign from its inception in 2015 until June 2016 and who remains a close political adviser to the president -- pushed back against Bolduc’s claims.
“It’s clearly not being rigged,” he emphasized on Monday during a radio appearance on the news-talk program "New Hampshire Today with Jack Heath."
“When you run for the United States Senate and you have $100,000 in the bank against a two-term incumbent U.S. senator who also served three terms as the governor of New Hampshire, that’s not a serious candidate,” Lewandowski said of Bolduc, who’s struggled with fundraising over the past year.
Messner has the ability to self-fund and so far has invested more than $3 million of his own money into his Senate campaign.
Bolduc claims that the president’s endorsement of Messner has benefited his bid, touting that “we have seen an increase in volunteers, an increase in fundraising, an increase in sign requests, and a groundswell of support since the announcement of the president’s endorsement of my opponent.”
In the House primary, Mowers – who moved to New Hampshire last year – was far outpacing Mayberry in the race for campaign cash even before the president’s endorsement.
But Mayberry, a longtime state Republican activist who served in the Air Force, warned that “what the RNC is proposing – to directly spend resources in support of primary candidates in contested primary races – would be absolutely devastating to Republican efforts to pick up two Congressional seats, a U.S. Senate seat and to carry the state for President Trump in November.”
And Mayberry pointed to president’s historic 2016 campaign to make his own case.
“I am running the same election strategy Donald Trump did in the 2016 presidential primary,” Mayberry told Fox News. “Trump disregarded the Washington establishment, who wanted [Jeb] Bush, and he spoke directly to the citizens of New Hampshire and I am doing the exact same thing. It worked out pretty well for President Trump and I expect the same level of victory in September."

It seems that Tesla just can’t catch a break. Following charges from the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) that could force Elon Musk to temporarily step down as CEO, the company’s vehicles are allegedly having more than a little trouble staying clean.
A Glitch in the Tesla System
A design flaw may be causing debris to become trapped in the vehicles’ underbody panels. Auto shop owner Eric Bolduc has commented that he’s found dirt, water, and sand in the back of every Tesla Model 3 he’s worked on, removing as much as 35 pounds of debris from each vehicle.
While it’s not necessarily unusual for dirt and water to become trapped in an automobile’s underbody, drainage is usually strong enough to remove items quickly. Tesla, it seems, is lacking in this department.

Bolduc’s auto shop is located in Canada, a country that suffers from extreme winters and very cold temperatures. Prone to heavy rain and snow, the nation’s streets are often de-iced using sand, which explains why it’s been discovered in every Tesla he’s examined thus far.
Model 3 Bumpers: Dropping Like Flies?
The problem may be linked to the rear bumpers. The panels lacking the drainage are attached directly to these sections, and many have seemingly fallen off since last August. Seven months ago, Model 3 owner Rithesh Nair stated on Twitter that within 30 minutes of purchasing his new vehicle, the rear bumper cover had detached itself. It wasn’t long before several other Tesla owners responded to Nair’s messages with photos of their own, showing they’d been through a similar ordeal.

A spokesperson for Tesla responded:
“We’re setting an extremely high bar for Model 3, and what happened in this situation is not how we build our cars. We’re investigating the issue to understand what caused it, and we are contacting our customers to resolve this and ensure they are satisfied.”
Legal and Production Problems at Hand
This news comes after a court order was issued by the SEC to Elon Musk, the company’s billionaire CEO. The regulatory agency alleges that the mogul’s latest tweets regarding Tesla’s 2019 vehicle production rates violated the terms of his settlement with the agency back in September 2018. Faced with both temporary suspension and financial penalties, Musk now has three days to respond to a judge’s order asking why he shouldn’t be held in contempt.
“Tesla turmoil” also seems to be striking from other directions. Two months ago, Musk announced that the company was laying off several staff members working on the S and X models in what was the company’s second round of layoffs since June 2018. Musk further stated that Tesla was suffering from low profitability in the first quarter of 2019, which led to a 20 percent dip in the company’s stock price.
Just this week, Tesla laid off another 8% of its workforce, according to Business Insider.

Additional problems have also been pointed out when it comes to Tesla models’ overall production quality. John McElroy of Autoline – a consulting firm that examines and “picks apart” various automobiles – cites the Model 3’s door handles as being too difficult to open. He also points out loose glass panels and trunk gaps big enough to fit one’s “thumb in.”
He comments:
“I don’t understand how it got to this. There are flaws that we would see on a Kia in the 90s or something… I can’t imagine how they released this. It’s just a surprise. A really big surprise for me.”
Consumers are potentially witnessing disorganization from all sides. It’s unclear what this means for the company’s future, though at press time, shares are up by roughly 2.73 percent following a five percent drop that occurred during Thursday’s after-hours trading.

SPRINGFIELD — For the second consecutive year, customers of Pride Stores and store management are showing support for Square One in a big way. 
Pride recently held a campaign where customers were encouraged to purchase a Square One ‘square’ for $1 at all Pride locations. Pride owner Bob Bolduc agreed to match all the donations in support the children and families served by Square One. Bolduc, along with his team, presented a check for $13,000 to Square One on July 3.

CANTLON: WOLF PACK SCORES LATE, BEAT BRIDGEPORT

BY: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Hartford Wolf Pack winning streak is now six games after a 5-4 win at the Webster Bank Arena against Bridgeport Sound Tigers Tuesday afternoon. The Wolf Pack record improved to 9-6-1-0 (19 points) and shrunk the once-sizable Providence Atlantic Division lead to just seven points over the idle Bruins. The Bruins have two games in hand. Bridgeport lost their fifth straight, and their record slips to 3-12-1-0 (7 points). The game-winning tally came just 1:40 after the Sound Tigers had tied the game.
HUSKA SETS UP A GOAL
The Wolf Pack goalie Adam Huska was inserted to start the third period because starter Tyler Wall struggled. Huska has been working on improving his puck handling skills, and it showed in the third period when he beat the Sound Tigers' Thomas Kuhnhackl to a loose puck, fired it off the top of the glass on the right-wing boards in the Wolf Pack end. The puck came to Paul Thompson in a well-executed breakout pass. “Adam has been so much better handing the puck this year, it helps the defenseman on forechecks, and in this case, he helped the forwards, and you make your own breaks, “ said Pack head coach Kris Knoblauch. As Thompson entered the Sound Tigers' end, he lost his balance but could still slip a pass over to Patrick Khordorenko, who was behind the Sound Tigers defense. Khordorenko went strong to the net and deposited his second of the game and third of the season at 15:02 for his first pro-game-winning goal.
REACTION FROM BOTH COACHES
“It was a really strong play under pressure finishing off the breakaway, and he played a solid, strong game with two goals and, of course, the game-winner. “There is a lot of competition for ice time and being in the lineup. (Khordorenko) was out a few games, and a game like that makes it tough for a coach making out a lineup and keeping him in,” said Knoblauch. Across the way, the always competitive Sound Tigers' head coach, Brent Thompson, took no solace in the final being a close score. “Any loss is a bad loss. "No one is happy with the result. There were mistakes in the game you can build on, 100%. We came back, that’s something. It shows character and shows a step in the right direction, but the mental lapses at the end of the day have to be intense defensively. We've got to know where people are away from the puck. "We let them back in the game after battling back to make it 4-4. We did make 2-2, 3-3 throughout the game. We made it easy on them.  It’s disappointing. It’s not where we want to be. When we have breakdowns, they’re big ones.”
SOUND TIGERS HAD JUST TIED THE GAME
The Sound Tigers Parker Wotherspoon, victimized on the game-winning play, had just tied the game for the Sound Tigers with his first of the season. Wotherspoon took a Jeff Kubiak pass and wired it over Huska's right shoulder through a big screen at 13:24. It was the only puck to beat Huska. With the goalie pulled and an extra attacker on for the Sound Tigers, they piled on the pressure over the final sixty seconds. Still, shots by Kyle Maclean and Bolduc went wide, then Patrick Sieloff made a terrific block in front, but Bolduc, who has played well against Hartford, had a final shot as the game ended that Huska stopped to secure the win.
SCORES GALORE IN THE SECOND PERIOD
In the first period, there were no goals, and in the second period, seven combined goals were scored and three in the first four minutes of play. The Wolf Pack scored first. Morgan Barron came across the blue line, went deep on the left-wing wide on defenseman Mitch Vande Sompel and snapped one just inside the far post for his team-leading ninth goal of the season at 1:01. The goal extended his point-scoring streak to four games. Darren Raddysh also extended his streak with the primary assist. At 2:54, the Sound Tigers rookie Bode Wilde with Austin Rueschoff bore down on Wall and scored his second of the season. He launched a shot on Wall from the right point. The puck hit off the post and went into the net to even the game at one. At 3:40, the Wolf Pack grabbed back the lead at 2-1.
PACK GO BACK UP
The Wolf Pack's red-hot scorer, Ty Ronning, evaded the stick check by Wotherspoon and sent a cross-ice feed to a wide-open Justin Richards in the left-wing circle. Richards buried his second score via Jakub Skarek's five-hole at 3:40. The Sound Tiger fought back again to tie the contest. Winger Tanner Fritz went down right-wing with Vincent LoVerde; when he got to the lower face-off circle, Fritz sent a shot on net that Wall couldn’t contain and wound up in the back of the net at 9:42. "The puck was rolling a little bit. Sometimes those are tough for goalies to squeeze. I was fortunate there. Good things happen when you put the puck on the net,” Fritz said of his second goal of the year, both coming against the Pack. Forty-nine seconds later, the Wolf Pack jumped back into the lead 3-2 when Alex Whalen snagged a rebound, circled the Sound Tiger net, and flipped a backhand pass back to Rueschoff, who deposited his fourth goal into a wide-open left side of the net with a solid net-front presence from Mason Geersten that helped create that opening.
REACTION TO GERTSEN
“That line played very well, and Gert (Gertsen) makes a difference out there. Guys don’t want to check him, fight him, or leave him alone. He has been doing a really good job and created a lot of commotion in front. "Austin was left alone back door, and Alex made a perfect pass to him,” said Knoblauch on what has become an effective third line for the Wolf Pack." The Wolf Pack extended the lead to two goals when Patrick Khordorenko picked up a loose puck from a shot attempt by Tarmo Reunanen from the left point. It hit Bolduc’s skate and sent a backhander past Skarek for his second goal of the season at 14:51. Bridgeport rallied again to make it 4-3. Defenseman Seth Helgeson went down the right-wing with Raddysh keeping him at bay, launched a backhand shot in the lower right-wing corner. It almost got to the goal line because Wall was deep in his net; he thought he had the puck pinned to his near post. However, he didn't have it completely controlled, and the Sound Tigers' Arnaud Durandeau, trailing on the rush, went to the net, smacked the loose puck, and into the net. It was his second goal with a minute remaining in the period. The Durandeau goal getting past Wall gave Knoblauch the impetus to make the call to Huska for the third period.
FIRST PERIOD
The first period was a scoreless duel with the Wolf Pack with an 8-5 shot advantage. Early on, the Wolf Pack had solid forechecking pressure keeping the Sound Tigers five pinned in their zone for two minutes earlier. The fourth line provided the pressure but had two shots stopped. Tim Gettinger was stopped on his second shot. Wolf Pack rookie D-man, Hunter Skinner, put on a solid check inside the Sound Tiger side on Kyle MacLean of the Sound Tigers. BRANDON CRAWLEY
The Wolf Pack reassigned/loaned defenseman Brandon Crawley to the AHL Cleveland Monsters on Monday. He is still Rangers' property and subject to recall by the Wolf Pack. Crawley is in the last year of his contract and will be an RFA (restricted free agent) next season. Crawley has played twice in the last three weeks in his only back-to-back games (March 25-27). He has played in seven games this season and just 16 in the previous two years. Crawley has been on the Wolf Pack taxi squad for most of this season and spent most last season with the Pack's ECHL affiliates, the Maine Mariners.
NOTES
The Wolf Pack has the AHL’s best power play with a 30.5% success rate. They had just one chance for the day. Ronning held a 36.4% shooting percentage coming into the game. Igor Shesterkin earned his first NHL shutout stopping the New Jersey Devils 3-0 shutout in The Prudential Center. Congratulations to Adam Erne (North Branford, CT) for scoring the 20,000th goal in Detroit Red Wings franchise history. Sadly, more of the COVID-19 collateral damage is that the Memorial Cup has been canceled for the second year in a row.
SOUND TIGERS MOVES
The Sound Tigers loaned forwards Yannick Turcotte, who played just two games against the Wolf Pack, to the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL), and Brett Neumann, who played four gamers to Allen Americans (ECHL). Defenseman Mike Cornell made his regular season Sound Tigers debut this afternoon.
ZAC JONES
As expected, the Rangers signed defenseman Zac Jones (Selects Academy at South Kent Prep) from the NCAA national champion UMASS Minutemen (HE) to an entry-level (ELC) deal. Jones has agreed to a three-year entry-level contract that carries an $832.5K cap hit at the NHL level and will make the standard $70K in the AHL with a $92.5K signing bonus that brings him to the CBA negotiated ceiling of $925K. This season burns off the first year of his deal, according to CapFriendly.com. Jones is staying in New York and practicing with the Rangers. At this point, Jones will then have 14 games left in the regular season to get some NHL ice time. There is no sign that Jones will be assigned to Hartford this year. The Rangers now have 21 defensemen organizationally under contract.
JONES HISTORY
Jones, 20, skated in 29 collegiate games with UMass this season, registering nine goals and 15 assists for 24 points, along with a plus-17 rating and eight penalty minutes. He helped UMASS, located in Amherst, MA, win the National Championship this past Saturday in a 5-0 shutout of St. Cloud St. Jones was named to the NCAA (East) Second All-American Team this season, the Hockey East Second All-Star Team, and the Frozen Four All-Tournament Team, and he also helped UMASS win the Hockey East Championship during the season. He ranked second among NCAA defensemen in goals, He ranked third among NCAA defensemen in points, tied for third among NCAA The 5-11, 185-pounder skated in 61 collegiate career games in the two seasons, with UMASS registering 12 goals and 35 assists for 47 points, along with a plus-29 rating and 32 penalty minutes. Jones was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team as a freshman in 2019-20, as he led NCAA freshmen in assists (20) and shots on goal (89) and ranked third among NCAA freshmen in points (23) during the season.

The Richmond, Virginia native represented the United States internationally at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship and recorded two points (one goal, one assist) in five games and helped the United States win a gold medal at the 2018 World Junior A Challenge tournament. In the third round, Jones was selected by the Rangers, 68th overall, of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and is the 18th player from Hockey East to turn pro so far, among 63 nationally who have signed North American pro contracts and the 25th underclassmen to depart school early.
