The Untamed Special Edition, Ep. 1 Commentary

I’m so excited, I finished the OG last week and I’ve felt empty ever since. I first read the novel not knowing that there was gonna be gay couple so imagine my surprise lmaoooo then I watched The Untamed not realizing how AMAZING it was and now I’m in too deep to this fandom… and then I found out there was a special edition? The amount of content surrounding this novel is crazy…

Anyway! I really wished that I had recorded my reaction to The Untamed because I cried 90% of the time, my emotions were EVERYWHERE, all in all, I was a mess. 

For this commentary, it’s different from my usual commentary on Thai BL’s because I have included pictures :)) Enjoy:

So looking back at me end notes, they aren’t really end notes lmao so here: I’m really excited to see the buildup to Wangxian rather than getting a glimpse of Wangxian and then seeing them develop like in the OG. I’m also really interested to see what they leave out and obviously for the extended scenes! Point is ima excited to relive this show again 😭

Wow, it’s been a phat minute since I’ve done one of these (I went on vacation, lost interest in UWMA and then COVID hit so wow lmao).

I’ve heard lots of great things about this show and my finals are this week so I need something to keep me going, so I will be commenting on this AND the special edition of The Untamed (I’ve already seen the original and I wish I would’ve commented on that because I cried… A LOT)

Overall I really liked it! They weren’t as cutesy as I thought it would be but of course that’s because despite Type finally realizing his feelings and accepting them, there’s still one underlying issue: he is not accepting of the fact that it’s a gay relationship and thus only wants to keep it a secret even though Tharn doesn’t want to. I think once this issue is solved we’ll get a lot more cutesty tharntype!!

The preview: HOOOOH BOI this next episode will be spicy!!!! A jealous type is what I’ve been wanting and hopefully it will help him in finally fully accepting his relationship with Tharn and actually being okay to showcase their relationship! Since type is a very easily angered person, I think this friend of Tharn’s will anger Type to the point of like kissing Tharn in public or something!! I guess we’ll find out next week!!

Okay Imma start off by saying that Non is highboy annoying lmao. Like he just has to be the wildest detective in figuring out Kao’s relationship to Pete like damn boi calm down and stop being an ass.

I’m glad Kao told Pete he needs to trust him more because oh boy do I love Pete with my whole soul but this man needs to calm down and learn to trust and understand Kao

Sorta side note: I know Kao is scared of Pete knowing that he’s still tutoring Non but especially after that talk, I think homeboy needs to calm clean and just deal with the consequences
