BitB! Prime Defenders AU

The division of character roles isn't straight forward so I'll try to explain as best I can. (warning this au is kinda depressing im not gonna lie)

10 years after the disappearance of their friend Ashe Winters, William Wisp, Dakota Cole, and Vyncent Sol reunite in their sleepy hometown of DeadWood Louisiana.

William never left. Out of a misplaced obligation to find his missing friend or just plain cowardice, he still lives there with his parents.

Dakota never became the sports star he dreamed of being. Instead he teaches high-school PE in California. He's adored there, but it still eats him up inside. Hopefully he can help someone else live up to the greatness that he never could.

Vyncent could say that he was successful. He got his degrees, became an accountant, and earns enough to make his parents proud. He should be happy. But his thoughts still linger in DeadWood, guilt haunting his every waking moment.

The night Ashe would go missing, the four were invited to a Halloween party at Summer's house. As the night went on, many drinks were had and a shouting match broke out between Vyncent and William. It started with William throwing petty insults at Vyncent for dancing with Summer (framing it as 'how dare you dance with my crush?' instead of 'my crush, how dare you dance with someone?'), and escalates when Vyncent accidentally lets slip that he's moving to Chicago as soon as he graduates. William's jealousy turns to fear of abandonment, and Vyncent's confusion and frustration boils over, angrilly calling William immature and naive. William ends the fight by storming out, Ashe finding him and taking out on a walk to cool him down. Dakota stays behind and diffuses the lingering tension at the party.

Ashe and William end up wandering deep into the bayou where they are attacked by the newly emerged elder-brain. They both die that night. Ashe is subsumed by the hive and becomes the host for the queen, William is replaced and spat out as its first 'worker ant'.

Vyncent is ultimately the one who finds Will after a week of the two being declared missing, washed ashore by their favourite tree. Ashe is never found.

Dakota blames himself for not being there to protect them. Vyncent blames himself for not looking hard enough. Will believes deep down that when he begged the bayou to spare him, it listened.

Miscellaneous

For the most part, William = Rand, Vyncent = Rolan, Dakota = Kian, and Ashe = Rachel. The major deviation being that William was the first to be bugged, as Rolan was in canon. Another is that Dakota is the one coming to DeadWood for his parent's funeral (in this AU Dakota doesn't become an orphan until his thirties, yay!).

Mark fill's Mr Dickman's role. He heavily resents Will, placing the responsibility squarely on him, but he is the only person left who hasn't given up on finding his son, so they exist in a tense alliance based on this mutual goal.

Bookworm fills Rat's role. After Dakota and Vyncent leave, he befriends Will and helps him research.

GhostKnife exists in this AU, with all the 80's repression and pent up guilt of KeepersChampion.

Haven't decided yet if anything resembling the Becky encounter happens. If you have any ideas of how to integrate it / something to replace it with, let me know.

doomed time loop AU

The starting point of the loop is set in the moment after Rat leaves them and they head towards Quickstop.

They all "wake up" at the same time, instantly panicking. They regained the memories of their deaths and of what happened, remembered EVERYTHING, even if some things are more blurry than others.

The second Rand opens his eyes, he starts searching for Rachel, who he just saw.

Rolan's panicking is quiet, but he is barely managing his human form.

Kian stares blankly, the fact that he is alive AGAIN still setting it. Almost subconsciously, he starts to hum his melody. It's ever present, just as it was when he awoken after his first death.

It takes them a long time to calm down enough to be able to communicate with each other. Once they do, they slowly realize that somehow, they are back at the beginning of this whole shit show.

They aren't sure if they can actually change things. They got a second chance, but is it really going to change how it all went down?

They still try.

Rand gets his mom to safety, Rolan goes to the basement instead of funeral.

Kian... Kian still tries to help Becky.

They all fail.

They try, and try and try. And they keep failing.

They are loosing both their minds and hope. How could they not? They've been trapped in a literal nightmare for who knows how long.

Then, one day, Rand starts the loop and both Kian and Rolan are acting normal. Like they never fought the monsters. Like they never saw the world be corrupted and people killed. Like they have no recollection of constant torture that were past few days. weeks. months...?

They don't remember it. Rand realizes that he is the only one with memories now. Did he finally die? He must have, but would death really be that cruel?

Rolan and Kian wake up in the same situation as Rand, being the only ones aware.

The loops has split, separating them from each other.

They have no way of getting back into the same loop. The nightmare continues, but this time, it feels more hopeless than ever.

Over time, as loops keep on repeating, they give up. One could only see their world fall apart that many times before falling apart themselves.

JRWI BITB au where Kian Stone went missing and became the queen of the hive instead of Rachel Rand.

Rolan still got bugged about two weeks after Kian went missing while looking for Kian.

Rachel gets bugged near the beginning of the campaign instead of Rat, Rat and Becky have already been a part of the hivemind after Rand and Rachel left. (Hence the scene with the car exploding and being on fire except Rolan was driving the car and the car belonged to Rex Cars.)

At the end Kian tries to convince Rand and Rolan to join the hive so they could all be friends again, Kian wants to finish their DnD game. Angst moment between the nightmare blunt rotation because Kian just wants his friends back.

Rand actually left Galloway with his sister when they both were old enough. They're roommates in Florida, Rand works for a medicinal marijuana shop, Rachel is an aspiring sci-fi movie director. (If she didn't get bugged she would've probably end up help working on an upcoming starwars movie.)

Rolan ends up going to Chicago and becomes a lawyer, but after a little bit Rolan can't disregard his feelings about Kian's disappearance and ends up flying back to Galloway. Rex Cars (Rolan's ace attorney boyfriend courtesy of @fish-gh0st ), not knowing what Rolan is up to, ends up following him back to Galloway. They continue to be lawyers in Galloway while Rolan tries to figure out what happened to their missing friend.

Instead of the hive being called "The Hive" it gets called "The Kaleidoscope" (because a group of butterflies is called a Kaleidoscope, which would make sense because of Kian's butterfly chest tattoo.)

Rand and Rachel come back to Galloway when they hear about Rolan's parents funeral and meet Rex Cars. It is very awkward at their first introductions.

The clicking from the Kaleidoscope sounds more melodic, like a song.

I see were are Bitb posting, have some headcannons

Becky's parents lived bc Becky was with Kian and not them. When Kian lives Becky's parents invite him over all the time for dinner. They miss their daughter so much and they try to fill that hole with Kian. Kian doesn't mind having some adults care for him, especially Becky's parents.

Rat had a little sister named Molly and Rand reconnects with the family, and ends up babysitting Molly a ton. To the point where Rand starts calling Molly 'little Mouse'.

If Kian and Rand both live, Kian has trouble playing music without hearing the hell song. But Rand took three years of Piano in Elementary School and can play Mary has a little lamb from memory, so despite how embarrassed it makes Kian the two of them sit down at the piano together and Rand holds his hands over Kians. It's not that Kian can't play music, it's that the songs cursed him with insanity to only want to play that song. Rand makes sure he hits only the right notes for twinkle twinkle little star. Slowly Kian gets better. And they're gay.

Rolan has more control over his body once he recovers. He starts to experiment with what he can do. He gives himself a couple inches in height. He lightens his eye colors. He gets rid of his grey hairs. After a couple of months to maybe a year, he discovers his/her genderfluid swag.

And they're all gay and in a polycule and they love each other the end. :3

This au was mainly inspired by BitB and its 80s vibes, so this au doesn't have anything to do with BitB other than the weird shit is happening-aspect

I really want to write some horror stuff for this au because I have a lot of ideas bc of bitb (Does it include analog horror?? Maybe, maybe not) but uhh they're in high school! and uhh yeah weird shit starts happening there, people start going missing, vhs tapes start appearing and everyone's behaving oddly. bitb fanart moment

post (hypothetical) good ending bitb character designs under the cut! if you haven’t listened to all 4 episodes don’t look! (please look though it took me so long to finish this. digital art has been a BATTLE for me lately. but i did it)

in an imaginary scenario where after reviving kian, they made all the right decisions, rallied the other survivors, destroyed the queen/elder brain/heart/whatever and freed galloway, before getting the hell out of there. where are they going? not important. roadtrip time. they just kinda drive for like a week or two before finding a safe place to stay. and they stay together, cause they have a bond now or whatever. and they’re gay. you get the idea, they travel around and help each other recover and heal from what they’ve all been through.

after saving the town they found barcode chewing on a giant bug leg or something. he tries to attack rolan. it’s hilarious, he’s been terrorizing all the bug monsters while offscreen. they take him with them after that.

and now they’re on the road, talking through their trauma, listening to music, finding a new guitar for kian, and finally finishing their dnd campaign.

these designs are basically just how they looks right after getting out of galloway- they’re still dirty and grimy but they’re alive! kian got some old rags from the community house, and rolan has a makeshift “disguise” made up of rands jacket and sunglasses. (sunglasses not included bc i couldn’t figure out how to draw them)

btw i’m spreading kian is the shortest propaganda. he’s like 5’6 there’s no way he’s the tallest. don’t listen to the lies. (his canon height)
