you ever stop to think about them naming a literal baby "Sephiroth"? Like Sephiroth means something akin to the tree of life in the cabala or something like that but they probably don't have the cabala in gaaia so why would they choose that name for a baby

So unless the EC flashback reveals that Sephiroth's birth name is not, in fact, "Sephiroth" but something else, I'm going to make the very vague hc that the name "Sephiroth" means something of a similar nature in the old Cetra language. I mean they wanted him to be an Ancient, right? So maybe his name has Cetra roots in the world of FFVII.

Which would be even MORE sad in both context and hindsight when you really think about it. Sephiroth isn't an Ancient. Even his very name is a lie.

At the rate I keep thinking about Sephiroth and Aqua parallels, I'm going to end up making a multipage comic for them
