Robins are one of my favourites birds and they have a list of superstition around them Here are some examples - Robins appear when loved ones are near. - A robin tapping on the window of a house can indicate an illness or death. - Bad luck will follow you if you deliberately harm a robin or its blue eggs. - If a robin is spotted flying over a mining pit, it is an omen of coming disaster, according to a Welsh superstition. 'Take two' acrylic on canvas I completed this little painting yesterday @studiogalleryandbistro during my artist in residence last weekend alongside textile artist Sue Smorthwaite. This painting features our resident magpie 'Matilda' who was rescued by my husband. Matilda now thinks my husband is her partner! She loves to talk to him and is always around him when she sees him in the garden.Matilda has stolen our hearts and is full of character! She has now appeared in two of my paintings and I am sure will continue to appear in others to come. In this painting she proudly displays a liquid amber leaf she picked up in the garden. I took a couple of days off from artwork to hang out with friends and GO BIRDING! It's finally warm enough for my face to not hurt when I step outside lol! The birds were very happy too. 😭TWEETIE was abandoned in a dumpster in January 2017, still in his cage. Minneapolis animal control found him alive after several days starving. Unfortunately his buddy died. But TWEETIE survived when MAC and @wagsandwhiskersmn rescued him. It is the blue bird in the picture. 🏠My wife @sophiacharpentier told me we HAD to adopt him. For her there was no doubt!!! So we got him HOME. He bit us a few times until we fed him his favorite foods (MILLET!!! It is birds' catnip). 🎂A few months later in March 2017 we found him a new buddy @petsmart for my wife's birthday. It is the green one in this photo, SUNSHINE. 🎸They are too funny together!!! They love music, especially high pitched notes played by guitarist @joesatriani 😍So happy to have them in our lives. If you have some love for animals let us know! 🙏😻🐣🐤🐥🐦🕊 🚴‍♂️If you follow papa bear @Jonathancharp you may have seen this picture already.
