"The China Wine & Spirits Awards (CWSA) is proud to be partnering with the Beverage Trade Network (BTN) to assist with their development and interest in the China market - the fastest growing wine market in the world.
The CWSA is the biggest and most prestigious wines and spirits competition in China and we only want to work with the best supporters to producers who benefit from the latest information, and development opportunities." Kelly England, President China Wine & Spirits Awards (CWSA)
Presently, CWSA are really focusing on making sure all wine makers and export directors know it is NOW time to enter the CWSA Best Value 2013. Wines from FOB prices from EUR100+ all the way down to EUR1-2 will be tasted in order of price point by the 100 Judges, who are all professional buyers, distributors and retailers. The last competition was incredibly successful and it allows wines of all price points to shine. It also gives them enormous market advantage as commercial buying decisions are based on quality of taste and of course price point. Chinese buyers are very open to a range of prices from the highest to the lowest. But, they demand the best value. This is what the CWSA Best Value delivers to wine makers and buyers alike, the results forming the directory to purchase decisions for the year ahead.
Beverage Trade Network is one of the world‘s leading networks for beverage, wine, spirits and beer importers, distributors, producers and related companies. Our database and directory listing of the world's leading beer, wine, spirit and non-alcoholic drink producers provides our importers and distributors an advantage to source and innovate their portfolios.

5 Social Media Slip-Ups and How Your Wine Business Can Avoid Them
Top 5 social media slip-ups and how your wine business can avoid them. Here’s all what you need to know. If digital marketing were laid out buffet-style, social media would certainly be the main course. And while plenty of wine businesses are hungry for success online, most fall prey to the same 5 marketing mistakes and misunderstandings.
While some brands are experiencing abundant success – broadcasting a live event series to millions of social followers, achieving 64.7 million impressions via a single hashtag, even crowdsourcing the winemaking process with help from over 200k Facebook fans – others are floundering to connect social media to a sales funnel. As a whole, Thach admits that the “wine industry is definitely not an early adopter in terms of social media,” however, participation is up and everyone from wineries and importers to wholesalers and retailers are eager to harvest the rewards that social media marketing can offer. An insider's guide to the US bulk wine market
A key for US wine importers and distributors can grow their bulk wine business. US is the world’s biggest importer of bulk wine in terms of value, the market is surprisingly opaque.
Although the US is the world’s biggest importer of bulk wine in terms of value*, the market is surprisingly opaque. Tim Hanni MW, a wine educator and consultant, says the challenge for international producers who want to enter the US market is “learning the intricacies of how bulk wine business is transacted”. Hanni MW, who has helped to establish the USA’s first bulk wine trade fair, adds that it’s critical to establish “a network of connections to the brokers, buyers and sellers.”
Bulk wine is defined as wine that is shipped in containers (ISO tanks, Flexitanks etc), rather than in bottles or smaller packaging. Some organizations describe any wine that’s shipped in containers larger than two litres as bulk wine but, strictly speaking, bulk wine is wine that’s shipped in large containers and then repackaged at its destination. Bulk Wine: Sourcing to Selling
With the California grape crush varying as much as 671,000 tons from year to year, and average price for wine grapes jumping as much as 25% in the state, wineries and private-label producers looking to keep production steady often consult the bulk wine market to fill gaps.
This summer the International Bulk Wine & Spirits show is coming to San Francisco, and the event includes two days of conferences and workshops where winery personnel can hear from importers, distributors, suppliers and retailers about how to find bulk wine, negotiate pricing, create blends and protect your company against quality and delivery woes.
Wine Institute CEO Bobby Koch will give the welcome address, followed by Brandy Rand, who will offer an overview of wine and spirits trends from her post as vice president of U.S. marketing and business development at International Wine & Spirits Research.
After an update on wine trends, Turrentine Brokerage president Steve Fredricks will inform attendees about the latest costs for wine and grapes from various sources, including information about which varieties are widely available and which are in limited supply. Nat DiBuduo, who represents grapegrowers as president of Allied Grape Growers, is scheduled for a talk entitled “How Current Grape Supply and Demand Affects You.”

Social media has completely transformed the way wineries market themselves, with more and more wineries experimenting with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube as ways to reach a larger wine-drinking audience. But it’s no longer enough just to be on Facebook or Instagram, you now have to find ways to update your social media presence to leverage all the new features that are available.
For example, one popular new trend on social media is livestreaming events via features like Facebook Live. Hosting a Facebook livestream is a fantastic way to introduce wine drinkers to the winemakers behind the brand as well as to give a behind-the-scenes look at how a wine goes from the vineyard to your table.
