Day two of the lovely ‘March Meet The Maker’ ... and todays prompt ‘Hands At Work’. Through the Spring, Summer and Autumn months, it seems like we’re always busy and on the go ... There’s always so much work to do outside in the garden and repairs and projects to be completed. It’s a real rush to get things done and take advantage, of the long daylight hours we have in the Highlands. When I can, I like to take my craftwork outside and often spend time knitting in my garden. I feel so lucky to have that freedom and enjoy the views around us. I couldn’t ask for a nicer working environment.

Over the winter, with darker nights and shorter days, things really slow down. That’s when I get the most time to indulge in my handmade passion ... I love knitting and sewing by the crackling wood stove and learning new things.

This year my daughter - a talented needle felter - finally convinced me to have a go. I’d been putting it off, as stabbing wool with very sharp needles scared me slightly. But I have to say I’m hooked, it’s so much fun and very therapeutic.
