Here is an illustration I made for the Bering And Wells Big Bang for the 13th anniversary, it's a cover art for the amazing story by @anandabrat (beta'd by @madronash) you can read it here : the Remington Standard #2
summary : It’s 1997, and when a quiet teenager in a book shop finds an old typewriter with the previous owner’s name and address inside, she writes a letter. When the previous owner writes back, she takes the 1881 date in stride, and two kids start to fall for each other. This story isn’t an AU so much as an epistolary reboot, letting Helena and Myka flirt, chafe against the people who underestimate them, become adults, and ultimately find a way to the Warehouse (together!) without MacPherson or Paris as catalysts. The only obstacle in their path is time, and we all know that’s no match for Myka Bering or Helena Wells.

13 Hours of 13 Years of Bering and Wells
Hi everyone! Let's get a bit more concrete about the Zoom meeting on Sunday, April 23rd, 2023 - 11am till midnight Berlin time!
Tumblr media
Here's some more info, including a table of timezones so that you can see what that translates to in your timezone!
You can sign up here (Google Form) - we added a trivia question to the form to make sure only fellow fans can sign up. We're gonna have to ask your email address in order to send you the Zoom link when the time comes; I won't put that out in the open.
Here is a form where you can input your headcanons for the headcanon bingo! (and also suggest trivia questions if you want)
And, last but not least, if you have other ideas of stuff that you'd like to do/see done, please let me know in the tags!
Please reblog this far and wide and often, so that as many Bering and Wells fans as possible know that we're doing this, so that they can come and hang out with us. If you know fellow fans who aren't on Tumblr, feel free to share this with them in other places too!

Chapters: 13/13 Fandom: Warehouse 13 Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Myka Bering/Helena "H. G." Wells Characters: Myka Bering, Helena "H. G." Wells, Jack Harkness, Christina Wells, and the rest of the Warehouse family Additional Tags: Unconventional Families, Pregnancy, Kid Fic, Fix-It, Bering and Wells Big Bang 2023, BWBB23, beringandwells13
  Summary:
When Myka Bering goes looking for Helena Wells, she isn’t expecting to find Emily Lake, and she definitely isn’t expecting to find Emily Lake pregnant – but this is a story about the unexpected. This is a story about letting yourself say yes to the situation you find yourself in, even if it’s where you never expected to be, and how the rest falls into place when you allow yourself to do that.
It’s also a story about time travel and friendship, old flames and new love, and magic cottages and pb&p (pear) sandwiches. And of not just one unexpected baby, but two of them - for a given value of "baby", anyway.
Written for the Bering and Wells Big Bang 2023 to celebrate 13 years of Bering and Wells!
THANK YOU to @galactic-pirates, my artist, who due to their health will post their art a little later, and to @anandabrat, my beta, without whose constant encouragement and excitement this fic would be nowhere near as coherent as it is! (also, thanks for the summary, Nands! :D)

Drawn for @purlturtle and their fic "Not This": What To Expect When Faced With H.G. Wells - A Field Guide by Myka Bering for the Big Bang as part of the @beringandwells13 13th Anniversary celebrations!
Excerpt of the scene in question from @purlturtle's fic!
A few minutes later, they both squinted at the harsh kitchen light. Myka had insisted they both wrap up warm before they left, so now Helena was wearing Myka’s bathrobe, Myka had pulled an old hoodie over her pajamas, they both wore fuzzy socks, and still the room was cold. Helena held one of the triangles up and tilted her head. “I did not think it was customary to toast the bread?” Myka shrugged, feeling a tiny bit embarrassed – Pete always teased her with that, ever since he’d first seen her do it. “I like it better this way,” she defended her choice. “It’s, uh… They’re a treat, for me. And that includes having the bread be nice and crunchy.” “I see,” Helena said, and bit into it. She hummed appreciatively, chewed, swallowed. “I like what the warmth of the bread does to the peanut butter’s texture.” “Right?” Myka agreed immediately, and bit into her own sandwich with a happy sigh. Maybe it really was a good idea to defer all of the big talk until tomorrow. Maybe it was okay to just take a moment to enjoy this.

Here's the cover I made for "Dawn of the Dragonborn: Heart of a Hero, Heart of a Predator, Heart of Dovahkiin” by @rinari7 and beta’d by @amtrak12
Summary: A vampire. A Dragonborn. Two women, a little in love. Coffee? Mead? Or maybe save the world…
M'aiq'a is an investigative agent for the Penitus Oculatus, the Emperor's personal bodyguard, sent to Skyrim to try and figure out what's behind these damned vampire attacks that killed her foster brother. Hlenea, clutching an ancient scroll and beset by gargoyles, is the woman she quite literally unearths, sought after by vampires and hunters alike.
'Beware of becoming the very thing you despise' has never been more true. Never mind falling for one...
But centuries of unlife make for layers of secrets, and trust is hard to come by. The world is running out of time, and they will both have larger roles to play than either of them ever wanted...

And @ninth-on-eight, thank you so much for the incredible art used here as a cover! It's absolutely the perfect image to sum up this story and I love it so much!

Big Bang Story Teaser #1!
Tumblr media
Hey everyone! The Big Bang teams are working hard on their stories and artworks, and this week I'm gonna tease what's coming, with a short summary for every story, one per day!
Coming in on April 17 are @anandabrat (writer), @madronash (beta) and @ninth-on-eight (artist), with this:
It's 1997, and when a quiet teenager in a book shop finds an old typewriter with the previous owner's name and address inside, she writes a letter. When the previous owner writes back, she takes the 1881 date on the letter in stride, and two kids start to fall for each other. This story isn't an AU so much as an epistolary reboot, letting Helena and Myka flirt, chafe against the people who underestimate them, become adults, and ultimately find a way to the Warehouse (together!) without McPherson or Paris as catalysts. The only obstacle in their path is time, and we all know that's no match for Myka Bering or Helena Wells.
Doesn't that sound amazing? Starting us off with a fresh take not just on the story itself but on storytelling in general, with the epistolary format! Don't know about you, but I can't wait!
If you're as excited as I am, please show your love by reblogging this (go wild in the tags too!) - nothing is more motivating and encouraging for a creator than seeing their work get love and attention! So, let's all cheer them on on their home stretch!

Big Bang Story Teaser #2!
Tumblr media
(Teaser for story #1)
Today I'm gonna tease you with the story that'll go up on April 20th, by @madronash (writer), @rinari7 (beta), @anandabrat (helper/second beta), and @elle-arts (artist)! Here's what they've cooked up for us:
The Hanged Man: Myka and Claudia set off for Cornwall to investigate some mysterious disappearances, Helena's orb in tow. When Helena finds a wicked pack of cards, she and Myka don't expect to get sucked into another world… a world created by another woman unappreciated in her time, and designed to challenge their assumptions about their own. This story uses the multi-layered symbolism of Tarot and combines it with a sharp critique of how symbols are created, who they’re for, and how to embrace them without becoming lost in the process. Follow Helena and Myka as they traverse a strange landscape, discover each other anew, encounter familiar characters in ways they’ve never seen before, and ultimately carve their way towards a future together.
Listen, I have no idea about the whole concept of Tarot, but I'm excited to read this and not just enjoy an awesome Bering and Wells story but learn something in the process!
If you're as excited as I am, please show your love by reblogging this (go wild in the tags too!) - nothing is more motivating and encouraging for a creator than seeing their work get love and attention! So, let's all cheer them on on their home stretch!

Big Bang Story Teaser #5!
Tumblr media
For our fifth and last story, to be published on April 23rd, @kloperslegend (writer), @hgandmyka (beta) and @niftybottle (artist) will present you this:
For the first time, Investigator Myka Bering isn’t content to let a case slip away when the feds pull rank. No, not when one of the vics is a family friend, and certainly not when all signs point to a vulgar blend of compromised ethics and venture capital espionage.
As she pursues the two murder cases in secret, it becomes clear that the feds may not be trying to solve the crimes at all. Worse, her findings point to a weapon so foul, so impossible, that even just thinking about it makes her start to feel crazy.
Oh, and Myka’s primary suspect? A single mother by the name of Helena Wells.
Doesn't this sound amazing? Getting a lot of hardboiled vibes from this one!
If you’re as excited as I am, please show your love by reblogging this (go wild in the tags too!) - nothing is more motivating and encouraging for a creator than seeing their work get love and attention! So, let’s all cheer them on on their home stretch!

13 Years: Prompts for fanworks
Don't we all love a good prompt list? Here are a few I made for the 13 days leading up to April 23nd:
Tumblr media
(The anniversaries are taken from this list (Wikipedia link) of traditional gifts, US Version)
Feel free to use these, either straight up or mix and match, as many as you like for any kinds of fanworks you want to create! Please use the tag "#beringwells13 prompts" when you use them! I do hope (and tried to pick prompts accordingly) that these prompts work not just for fics but for other fanworks too, like art or manips or suchlike. If you feel you need to futz a little to make things work, by all means feel free!
Transcribed prompts lists under the cut!
13s for any date:
13 scenes from 13 years
lucky/unlucky 13/ numerology 1-13
13 things they do now that they didn't back then
12 Zodiac Signs (Western/Chinese) plus Free Space
13 First Times Bering and Wells had over the years
13 Warehouses
13 Most Peculiar Artifacts they snagged
13 Tarot Cards
13 Treasures of the British Isle
13, the Baker‘s Dozen
13 Superstitions
Famous 13s
Your Favorite 13
The idea here is to pick any one bullet point from this list, and then create 13 works based on that group of 13. For example, one fic themed around each zodiac sign plus a free space (add Ophiuchus if you're a nerd :D ), or 13 artworks inspired by one tarot card each.
"Famous 13s" and "Your Favorite 13" are basically free spaces; maybe there are 13 famous movies or books or authors or whatnot you want to create works around, or maybe you have a favorite group of 13 anythings that isn't included in these prompts, so then by all means use that!
Prompts for specific dates:
Date | Anniversary | Trope | AU 10 | Cotton | Only One Bed | Coffee shop 11 | Paper | Enemies to Lovers | Sports 12 | Leather | Idiots to Lovers/Mutual Pining | Superheroes/Superpowers 13 | Fruit and Flowers | Fix-It | Modern/No powers or artifacts 14 | Wood | Battle Couple | Medieval (knights, magic, dragons, ...) 15 | Iron/Sugar | Fluff | Crossover 16 | Wool/Copper | Free Space | Free Space 17 | Bronze/Salt | Fake Dating | Future/Space 18 | Pottery | 5 Things plus 1 Thing | College/High School 19 | Tin/Aluminum | Genderfuckery | Soulmates 20 | Steel | Hurt/Comfort | Pirates 21 | Silk/Fine Linen | Kid-Fic | Vampire/Werewolf 22 | Lace | Fuck or Die | Old West/Cowboys

Sign-up timeline for the Bering and Wells Big Bang!
This upcoming weekend, on December 17th, we'll start the sign-up period for artists, betas and writers, for the first ever Bering and Wells Big Bang!
Tumblr media
I'm both excited and nervous, holy wow!
You can find our previous posts with more info on what a Big Bang is here and here (including a timeline of what happens after the sign-up).
Also, this Big Bang is not the same thing as the Bering and Wells Gift Exchange - that's another amazing fan event that is currently in its sign-up phase, with a deadline/reveal date on Valentine's Day! Find more on that here!
Back to the Big Bang sign-up info!
The sign-up will happen via a Google Form, which will ask for your email, your name/nickname and pronouns, the role or roles that you'd like to sign up for, and whether you would be okay if the Big Bang communication between mods, writers, betas and artists happened on Discord (I'm comfortable with Discord, but if not everybody is, we'll find a different way to communicate!)
The available roles are:
writer
artist
beta reader
pinch hitter writer
pinch hitter artist
pinch hitter beta
helper artist in the case that a fic doesn't find an artist among those artists who've signed up
A pinch hitter is someone who comes in if a writer, artist or beta had to tap out - so you'd be joining an existing collab, and you'd have to be okay working within the confines of that.
A helper artist is someone who would be okay taking on a fic that no one has picked, so that that writer doesn't "go empty". You wouldn't be able to pick and choose in that case, although hard boundaries such as triggers or squicks are acceptable reasons to decline.
It is possible to sign up for more than one role, but please consider your spoons, and only sign up for what you are certain you can deliver on.
Further info on what's required/expected from participants are available here (this is a link to the "More on the Bering and Wells Big Bang" post that was linked already further up), as is a timeline of how the Big Bang will proceed after the sign-up.
If you have any questions, please feel free to put them in the replies to this post, or reach out to @purlturtle or @galactic-pirates!
Also, once again, please reblog for a signal boost so that everyone who's interested will find this info!

A Bering and Wells Round Robin, you say?
Yep, here I am with the next idea! I even made a photo manip:
Tumblr media
(this is a starling to represent Helena Wells - because of @roadien60 s wonderful Murmuration fic, which if you haven't read it yet, stop everything and read it, right now! - and a (very round) pink robin, to represent Myka in her pretty pink shirt in Time Will Tell. Can't you just hear the starling say "darling, I'm too fabulous to read the manual" and the robin say "reading the manual isn't optional, Helena" ? Anyway, this manip is totally @anandabrat s fault! Enabler that she is. :D)
So, back to topic.
A Round Robin is an endeavor in which people collaborate by taking turns. Here, it'd be writing a fic together, one chapter per author, then it gets passed on to the next author who writes the next chapter, and so on - so you're both building on what the authors before you have written, and adding on what you want to bring to the story.
For a topic, I propose a 13 chapter story, for 13 years of Bering and Wells: 1 chapter for a scene or story from each of their 13 years together. Can be as long or as short as you like!
For a time frame, I propose starting the weekend after Valentine's Day, so as not to overlap with the Bering and Wells Holiday Gift Exchange. This would give us a bit more than two months time until April 23rd.
I'm gonna put some more ideas (and a poll!) under the readmore:
Starting after Valentine's Day, say on February 18, would give each writer five days to work on a chapter before passing it on, if we want to publish on Bering and Wells Day (April 23rd). You can also start writing in advance as soon as you know which year you're writing for; just be mindful that you might need to adapt your work to what the authors before you have written.
As for knowing which year you'd be writing for, I had the idea of making a timeline of what happens in canon in year 1 and 2 and so on, and also roughly what happened in real life; things that we can incorporate or not (such as the 2016 US election, or the queen dying). And then when you sign up as writer, you can say "hey, I have this amazing idea for year 4, so I'd really love to write for that", or, "I'll tackle whatever year is left over," or "I want to write how they get together after Giselle*; so roughly year 5 or 6?" - this is a collaboration; we'll figure out who goes where. If we have fewer than 13 authors signing up, we can take several turns, even - though in that case I think it's more fun if no one writes more than one chapter before passing it on. So writer A might write year 4 and 8, but not 4 and 5.
*Some questions we're gonna have to agree upon in advance, such as, how much of canon do we stick with (Boone? Giselle?), where do we see their relationship going (marriage or living together without paperwork, or the question of kids for example), and are we gonna include the pandemic or not. We could even make a poll out of this - use Tumblr's shiny new feature!
There will be no minimum word count for this; just write the scene you feel fits in that specific year. Can be a drabble, can be 5000 words, whatever you feel like! Just don't keep the authors behind you in line waiting; make sure you can get it on the page in time.
Those are the ideas I had for this - now I'm asking you:
If you have questions or ideas, put them in the replies or reblogs! Signal boost reblogs are also very welcome!

13 Hours of Bering and Wells Zoom Meetup!
Tumblr media
Here's a more concrete timetable; sorry it took me so long!
If you haven't signed up yet, here's the form where you can do that; it asks your email address and I will only send the Zoom link out to that email address, so that we don't get brigaded.
We're starting at 11am CEST/5am EST/5pm MYT. I'll host for the first hour or so, and after that I'll leave the Zoom open but will have to step away so that my brain can wind down again.
In that first hour, we'll have some introductions (names/nicknames/fandom names, how did we get into W13/Bering and Wells, are we fandom creators in some way, what does Bering and Wells mean for us etc.). Then we can have a trivia quiz that I've prepared! I'm also working on a headcanon bingo; not sure if I'll get it done in time though!
After that, once I step away, I can queue up the Bering and Wells episodes, and leave the Zoom open so that anyone who still wants to can talk and hang out.
If you wanna be a host/moderator/someone who steers the conversation for a while during that time (between noon CEST and 7pm CEST), please contact me so that we can organize something!
I'll hop back on at 7pm CEST and we'll have another round of intros with whoever's there then, and maybe a reprise of the trivia quiz and headcanon bingo too!
At 8pm CEST/2pm EST/2am MYT, we'll have a writer's panel with @kla1991, @magicmumu2 and me. These are the questions we'll cover:
what's your fic writing process? (and if you're a published author too, does it differ between fic and originals?)
how do you make sure you keep your characters in character?
where do you find your inspiration for fic?
what, to you, is the pull of writing fic (for Bering and Wells/in general)?
what's the fic you're most proud of and why?
Plus any questions you wanna ask!
That'll probably take an hour; after that, I'll probably have to bow out again at some point, but will still leave the Zoom open. I have two offers from people who are both in EST to host at that time, so you'll have someone to steer the conversation, maybe have the quiz/bingo a third time for any newcomers, etc.
The 13 hours will be complete at midnight CEST/6pm EST/6am MYT.
